Bayern vs Schalke the most interesting game today, Huntelaar will miss the game because of his stupid red card, Draxler, Farfan, Goretzka (and a few more) are still injured in Schalke's team. We still miss Martinez, Lahm, Rafinha, Thiago and Ribery. Schalke usually play with a back five (Utchida, Fuchs as wingbacks, Höwedes, Matip, Nastasic as the 3 centerbacks) since Di Matteo took over, I doubt he'll change that. Should be interesting if Guardiola makes any adjustments after the Wolfsburg disaster or trusts his players to execute the high line simply better today. Also, Bayern will play in front of 75000 fans for the first time after another small stadium expansion in the Allianz Arena.
Schürrle isn't part of Wolfsburg's matchday squad in Frankfurt yet and probably will play/sit on the bench the first time at home against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Tomorrow, Dortmund have to show what they've changed over the winterbreak. The ugly defend deep and hit longballs approach was somewhat acceptable against Leverkusen's crazy pressing, but at home against Augsburg it won't be good enough. They need a win, even though it'll be really difficult. Augsburg are playing a fantastic season so far and are still in the fight for the CL places. The game should give us an idea where both clubs stand and what we can expect for the rest of the season. A Dortmund win and they might finally turn it around, another win by Augsburg and they're in a brilliant position to actually pull it off and play in Europe next season.
The more important winter transfers in the Bundesliga:
(nothing huge happened besides the Schürrle transfer)
Bayern:
Shaqiri on loan to Inter (Inter have to buy him in the summer)
Hojbjerg on loan to Augsburg
Dortmund:
Kevin Kampl bought from Salzburg €12m
Schalke:
Nastasic on loan from Manchester City
Santana on loan to Olympiacos
Leverkusen:
Tin Jedvaj bought from Roma (was already on loan at the club) €7m
Wolfsburg:
Schürrle bought from Chelsea €32m
Olic sold to Hamburg €1.5m
A few from the rest of the league:
Ya Konan back to Hannover
Mats Möller-Daehli to Freiburg
Petersen from Bremen on loan to Freiburg (scored a hattrick in his first game!)
Serey Die from Basel to Stuttgart
Marcelo Diaz from Basel to Hamburg
Lakic to Paderborn
Deyverson on loan from Belenenses to Cologne
