Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

How good is this Marc Stendera chap? Keeps on starting games for Frankfurt.

I used to love watching Dortmund. Nowadays they are so boring and predictable. As i write 2-0 for Werder. Atrocious performance by Dortmund.

How did Dortmund get THIS bad? This would be like watching Arsenal in the relegation zone half way through the season.

They are seriously at risk of relegation. When does it stop being 'still early in the season'?

Might be a bad game but i´m not convinced by Ginter. Their whole defence has been bad tbf.

Almost 3-0! Dortmund's defensive positioning

Goal Hummels. Fail to score and conceed in the next play.

Great play by Bremen but it hits the post. Entertaining game.

Bremen wins. Deserved 2-1 win. Christmas in the relegation zone for Dortmund.

With a Freiburg win they will be last. If Werder would have made their chances a draw of Freiburg would have been enough...

But Schalke - HSV 0:0...

Leverkusen draw at home against Frankfurt...

You know you're in trouble when Bremen beat you.

And it was a convincing win. Bremen had plenty of chances. Dortmund scored from a set piece right after they missed the 3-0 with a clear chance. Kagawa could have scored the 2-2 but i don't think they deserved the draw. Bremen made some great plays during the match. Immobile was shocking in comparison to Selke but tbf he rarely had the ball.

How did Selke do? I know he got a goal and an assist, he's a player I think will be very good (assuming he leaves Bremen to continue his development if they're relegated).

I liked him. He was a bit selfish and has to improve his decision making but he's a very pacy player with good technic. Dortmund defence struggled against him. His goal was a good effort.

Hey they can think about Paulo Sousa from Basel to overcome this. He said one of the main objectives in his career is to manage Dortmund :D

shame for Dortmund, it was good while it lasted. next couple of seasons will be hillarious in bundesliga. I can see Bayern reaching 10 titles in row.

There are a very few people who don't think so. Unfortunately, they are all emplyed by the BVB.

I don't watch much Bundesliga but who is to blame for their form is it klopp, the players, Injuries, not replacing lewandowski or a combination of all?

Either way if they do get relegated or finish near the bottom then I think it's goodbye reus, hummels, gundogan etc.

well....you can. You just need to wait for 20 years. :)
Yeah, no one is going to bother.

If it was even possible, it'd be interesting to see someone take over 1860 Munich and take it to a sugar daddy giant to compete with Bayern. (just for shits and giggles)

Well....they tried that....at least on a small scale. 1860 has an investor (some Jordanian lad). Their management was just too incompetent to seize this opportunity. They wasted his money and alienated him. Obviously he isn’t willing to give them more money after they fecked him over. It’s better than any soap opera. People in the club suing each other left right and center. It’s hilarious. Sadly it gets little attention in the (inter)national media. They are just not relevant enough.

Anyway. It was a bit tongue in cheek, even so Martin Kind (Hannover 96) and Dietmar Hopp (Hoffenheim) are going to buy “their” clubs.

well.. almost. 1860 were 11 Mio in the red and facing immediate bancrupcy. There was a reason why they sold players of their "golden generation" rather mid-season for 400k than end of season for 2Mio (Leitner, Bender1+2, Volland) - they needed to money immediately to survive, and no bank would have touched them with a shitty stick.
Investor Hasan Ismaik muscled himself in by giving them the 11 Mio.
That would have given him more than 50% of the shares, which is forbidden by the 50+1 rule. So they gave him 49% of the shares and the rest in shares without voting rights. In the upcoming years, he upped his invest to 28-something Mio.

(Interesting side effect: 1860 is structured like many german clubs, there is the "old" Club itself (e.V.) and the pro-team which is a separate entity, but in majority owned by the club respectively its members. If the pro-team fecks up financially, the e.V. is liable)

I guess the situation is: Without Ismaik, they would have been dead. So they took his money even though they knew he would try to take over the club. I think they hoped they could hide behind DFB regulations to keeep him off their necks, but that didn't work.

Since the very start, Ismaik tried to intervene both in the ways the club was run and by whom, as well as in the team - choice of manager and coach etc. Most of which is not allowed by DFB regulations. There are members of the board and of the team management who support him and others who object him, which created a quite interesting atmosphere. Imagine the manager being pro-Ismaik and the president opposition.

Works well so far, they went thru a few coaches, adjusted season goal from "win the league" to "stay in the league", hired a couple of Ex-Barca-B-Team players all of whom are out injured and have a bunch of expensive has-beens on their payroll who do diddly-all.

Pure comedy show...

The Bundesliga is boring... I love the show each week. First you watch a great team playing great intelligent football (sometimes you can switch after 60 minutes and watch the others) - and after that you watch the comedy show including the responses, the press, the fan voices - and best the discussion rounds at Sport1 (pure comedy show) and Sky...
