Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

The table looks grim for Dortmund. They either end Gladbach's unbeaten run this season, 18 games so far in all competitions, or they have to look at a league table with Dortmund in last place for two weeks. A draw tomorrow is not enough.

Just saw that Dortmund are bottom. Bit of a shock that, even though it'll presumably just be temporary.

The difference to earlier years is that the Europa League teams - Gladbach and Wolfsburg - have good benches - especially Favre has two sets of offensives. Before a good run in the Europa League often meant that the teams would struggle in the league.

Gladbach last season was the team with the least injury days per player - 26 days. And it did not really change. Training? Playstyle?

 Wtf, Dortmund are last?! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeiit.
Yeah. Funnily enough they've scored more goals and collected nearly twice the number of points in four CL games than in ten BL games.

Schalke  The only club that is more deluded than Liverpool.

Tomorrow is Dortmund´s season deciding game. If they win, they´ll still reach top4; 10 points are doable. If they lose, they are truly fecked.

They're bottom

How has that even happened?

They've been poor in the league--too many injuries probably contributing to this. I also think Bundesliga is a lot tougher than people make it to be, they haven't won since early September.

They might even stay last. Gladbach is in great form and Dortmund quite the opposite, at least in the league. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose there tomorrow. If that really happens though they can kiss CL places goodbye and have to concentrate on not getting relegated. Depressing season for them in the Bundesliga so far.

Jose Mourinho at the beginning of the season: "The English League is not like the German one, where you know who will finish first and second."

well, he's half right.

Well and he with his Chelsea team is making the PL look as boring as the Bundesliga atm.

Funnily enough the Spanish league which was the most predictable of the big leagues for years now looks like it will have the closest top 4 race of all the big leagues.

.

And I´m sure he´s not saying that to belittle his arch-rival Guardiola and the new cool manager Klopp. If they fail to finish 1-2 it´s because they are sh*t and if they do it´s expected. Meanwhile he has to battle all these brilliant minds that can´t beat Basel, Anderlecht, or CSKA in Europe. :D

Dortmund are feckin lucky that Leverkusen and Schalke are having a average season so far

But you are right a loss tomorrow and it means "Bye bye CL 2015-2016" (I don't think they will win the CL this year)

Bayern Munich will in the league no doubt.
Wolfsburg (They should beat Hamburg although Hamburg are playing amazing against all top clubs this season) and Mönchengladbach would be away 16 points....that alone would be 6 matchdays where Dortmund must win all games and the other two must lose all games.......massive Sunday for Dortmund!!!!

I love him. He's a cocky bastard, no doubt, but he's also one of the last remaining interesting characters between all the modern goalkeepers. I always liked that goalkeepers were a bit mental with the tendency to do something crazy from time to time. He's not only absolutely fantastic and has the performances to back up that arrogance, he keeps that crazy image of goalkeepers alive.

I'm torn on how I expect the Dortmund game to go. On form Gladbach should win comfortably and their style of play could be a nightmare for Dortmund. However part of me thinks Dortmund will win just because they simply have to. Will be a good watch.

It looks like we might have a derby between Hamburg and St. Pauli next season! ;)

Goal Olic. Another De Bruyne assist, Scholes-like first time volley which Olic helped in.

Woflsburg and Gladbach really are the first Bundesliga teams in a while that look like the Europa League games on Thursday don't tire them at all.

my exact thoughts.

I like Gladbach as a team and I think they've been great so far this year but for the sake of Dortmund staying a big club in Germany in the future I hope they finally get a win tonight!!

BVB: Weidenfeller - Piszczek, Sokratis, Subotic, Durm - Kehl, Bender - Reus, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan - Aubameyang

vs

BMG: Sommer - Korb, Stranzl, Jantschke, Dominguez - Kramer, Nordtveit - Herrmann, Hahn - Kruse, Raffael

Most assists in any of the big leagues so far this season, tied with Fabregas.

He is really brilliant. I don't understand why Chelsea let him go, he's very flexible in his positioning, it's not like he's a rigid attacking midfielder. Would love for us to buy him.

There was definitely something that went on behind the scenes/ in training.

Falling out with Mourinho, you reckon? There did seem to be a bit of tension with almost all of your Belgian players at that point, wouldn't surprise me.

Absolutely. He started the first game against Hull and was excellent. Then before or after the 0-0 against United there were rumours he was messing around in training and he pretty much never played after that.

What the feck is wrong with this ref? This was the 2nd nasty foul (stretched leg into the man without chance of the ball) left unpunished. Until now the only thing Gladbach has done is kick at our players...

Gladbach will score with their first shot on goal.
