Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Muppet hunters. There is reasons why Shaq does not get so much match time... Just does not have the same quality as the others.

And Gaudino - he is a young player who has a lot of time to develop. And he needs this time and seems to get it.

When was the last time a Lahm shot actually reached the goalkeeper? All his shots are either way too high or get blocked.

So Schalke overtakes Dortmund in the table, Freiburg can't win a game against 10 players and Stuttgart managed to not concede a late equaliser. Who would have thought.

Wasn't Leverkusen praised so much after the first two matches?

Lets face it: We all (or at least most of us) knew right away that Leverkusen is still Leverkusen. They should just stop playing in europe completely, no good can come of it.

They should bring Toppmöller back.

And righltly so. They are 3 points off Bayern and played already great stuff this season. Dortmund and Schalke arent the 2nd best team in Germay atm.

Same story as most years. Leverkusen play some decent matches: All aboard the hype train! Once everyone is psyched up, they turn to shite again.

I'm all for a Bayern - Gladbach fight for the league. That would be awesome.

Why is praising a great entertainig team a hype train? We should respect the good work when it is there. And 11 point after 6 matches is good.

Can't believe so many started to doubt Götze's talent. He's just brilliant.

Cant believe any real football fan was serious then. Just hating.

So happy to see Leverkusen struggling again. There is no other club in Germany that is more dislikable for me.

I don't think Leverkusen is dislikable. They are completely meaningless, even when they're doing well, and I think that's actually worse than being hated. How can you constantly finish in the top 5 for years and still have no impact at all in any competition?

Basically, they had a good preseason (what with the absence of WC players etc.), took a still incredibly shaky Dortmund by surprise, came back against a Hertha side that blew it a little, beat Augsburg 1:0 and.. yeah, that's about it. On the other hand, they once again faltered in the CL, got whacked by Wolfsburg and drew against Freiburg. Can't see how they are a "great side". Entertaining to me (like the 3:3 against Bremen), yes, but for all the wrong reasons.

Were there any real doubters of his talent or individual abilities? If there was criticism, it was mostly addressed towards his form and general performances. Actually, his undeniable abilites made the expectations towards him higher and thus the criticism harsher.

There were countless people on the Caf who constantly mentioned that they never rated him and that he's not really that talented.

Well, there are daft people everywhere, huh.

I thought the same. He just looked so sluggish compared to his "old" self in the first few weeks, but he's starting to get into gear. The link-up play with Lewandowski is looking more fluid every game and he almost stopped losing the ball in strangely lacklustre dribbling and 1-on-1-attempts.

You wouldn't understand unless you're a Hamburg fan. They constantly buy all of our players, the story about Calhanoglu and Völler was just incredibly frustrating. At least they gifted us 3 points at the end of last season...

Calhanoglu is a cnut of the highest order, he would've fecked you over sooner rather than later had he stayed in Hamburg.

It will only be a matter of time until he does the same with Leverkusen...

Of course it is. I rarely wish a young prospect bad things, but this guy just takes the cake. Lets hope he joins one of the big hitters in 1 or 2 years and fails miserably.

BTW.: 6 matches in, no team in the league has won more than one away-game.

I can't take Völler seriously since his 'Weizenbier' rant. If you manage to embarrass yourself next to Waldemar Hartman, your career should be over, full stop. But he also fits perfectly into the meaningless scheme. I get that the Calhanoglu drama was annoying though and as much as you probably hate his character, he was a truely important player for the team and would be this season as well.

Looks like Alonso broke Thiago's record with over 200 touches. Not like that stat alone says anything meaningful at all, but it's frightening how well he fits in already.

Rodriguez going forward is a train, doing it better than any other LB right now? I think so..
Not convinced he is great defensively probs to with Wolfsburg's crazy approach

Am I hearing stuff or is one of the centre backs for Werder Bremen called leukaemia? :nervous:

I'm starting to believe that he was shamefully underrated by me. And I never assumed that he could fit into a possession game that brilliantly. It's insane how great he's playing at the moment, easily our best player so far this season, followed by Boateng.

Yes. That or just hating and talking a good season with 5 titles down. He had a better scorer/time ratio then in Dortmund.
And 2 big injuries to recover from. But many, mostly from Germany, gave him no credit at all. It got very stupid and very harsh, sometimes even worse.
But he doesnt care with his great career so far and so shouldn´t I. ;)
