Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Yup.

Hamburg

I wonder how much we're going to make them pay for Tuchel.

I do not know if Tuchel wants to take over that club. That club and team is a hopeless thing. 8 coaches in 6 seasons... I guess he is waiting for Schalke...

@ctp
Thanks for your summary mate, sound like a great prospect. I'm just guessing with the call up for the national team, but I'm just asking myself why Löw was at the game and couldn't see potentially wise any other player than Geis who would be taken into consideration for a scouting mission ;)

In the Sportschau they showed a close-up of Jogi's notes, and he had the numbers 6 and 31 written down, i.e. Geis and Jonas Hofmann. Makes sense too, considering they both play for the U21s and are thus already part of the set-up.

Hamburg are just a joke of a club for some years now and need to change a lot of things drastically.

Thought when they played the relegation match that it would have been might the 'better' thing for the club to go down a year, have a big clearout (board, players), rebuild and then start a new chapter.

He's not that stupid. He's Schalke bound in my opinion.
Not sure if they'd have sacked Slomka for anyone else. Who is available, anyway? Jol? Babbel? Loddar?

You don't actually believe that they thought about a successor before sacking their manager? One step at a time, mate ;).

That's what I thought. Some Hertha people said that he could have also been there for Nico Schulz, but even though he plays for U21s, I can't see him making that next step into Löws selection.

All in on Frank Pagelsdorf! ;)

Heard that Falko Götz is also available ...

Hamburg. Un-fecking-believable. Maybe this season they will do us the favor and rid us of their annoying presence once and for all.

I just hope Tuchel is smart enough to not join this joke of a club.

Dortmund will feck it up again :( . Still can't believe that Hamburg managed to avoid relegation last season.

You're probably right about that. In their shoes I'd probably appoint an interim manager to lose against Bayern, Gladbach and Dortmund and then present the new guy so that he doesn't get off to a guaranteed bad start.

This club must be beyond repair, shurely. This farce has to end.

Tuchel is confident enough to think that he can do a Klopp at Dortmund job for HSV, so I don't think it's outlandish to suggest he might go there. Schalke is obviously more appealing in terms of current squad/CL/etc, but he might like the chance to build a legacy at Hamburg.

Oh god I can already see it coming. Last day and Hamburg needs 3 points an +8 goals and Dortmund loses 9-0 against them. When are they playing each other? :nervous: Hopefully early in the season.
HSV have Bayern (H), Gladbach (A), Frankfurt (H), Dortmund (A) coming up.

What a weekend :(

The only bright spark was Demirbay, what a player. Zoua scored twice as well

I have never seen you taking as much pleasure in the misery of another club as in Hamburg´s case

Chaos club of the first order, although we will probably be nice enough to give them some help in a few weeks

Clearly we don't talk enough about our noisy blue neighbours.

Balu I think in the end you would rather have us in the Bundesliga, we bring some entertainment at least. :wenger:

It would be hilarious if Ingolstadt gets promoted before 1860 does. Ingolstadt and Augsburg in the Bundesliga while 1860 with their sugardaddy still fecks up every year . Beautiful.

I want that clock to stop!

True. They celebrate that damn thing more than other clubs league titles. "Oh look, we have survived this long by being a little less shit as three or two other clubs."

Well, that's inspiring, isn't it? Kinda makes you think that you don't actually have to be capable to be a Bundesliga club, you just have to think that you are and you'll be fine as long as you find two more clubs that might not do their job as bad, but just end up a little more shit than you are.
So the search begins again. How many coaches is that know since they passed up on Klopp? Jol, Labbadia, Veh, Oenning, Fink, Marwijk, Slomka ... not even counting the interims. Funny story. I mean there must be a line outside of the stadium with people wanting to be the next coach since you get about three years worth of good pay for doing you job for maybe six months. Sounds like a good deal to me. I'd be interested since knowledge of football seems to be appreciated but not necessarily a prerequisite.

Joking aside, let's see which fool they'll get now to crush his reputation trying to make this team work.

Why not? I wouldn't mind.

You know records aren't necessarily positive ;) You'll never beat Tasmania Berlin or Dortmunds fantastic performance against Gladbach, I'm quite sure of that.

Aren't they the team who holds the seasonal record for most goals conceded with over a 100, worst goal difference with over 90 and least points with barely 10 points (with the new 3 points per win rule) or so?

It's really crazy. I think the only time I can remember that a team "managed" to get under 20 points was Freiburg about a decade ago.
A friend of mine was a Freiburg fan. He hated that season.

Whats this about? Seems interesting.
Hamburg is the only remaining club that was part of the first Bundesliga season in 63/64 and never got relegated. Bayern wasn't allowed to play in the Bundesliga back then, because the German football league decided that two clubs from one city doesn't make sense and our blue neighbours 1860 München were the better team back then, so they got the Munich spot. We had to start in the 2nd division and got promoted to the Bundesliga two years later. So at the moment, Hamburg is the 'dinosaur' in the league and they have a clock in the stadium showing how many years/days/hours/minutes and fecking seconds they are in the Bundesliga, seriously they count the seconds .

No one would really care if the club wasn't so badly run and managed to live up to their potential, but they are shit for decades now despite huge financial potential and really don't deserve to be proud of that 'dinosaur' tag anymore.

I know it's a bit petty, but I don't care. I really dislike the club and their fans (sorry gofelx, you seem alright on here, but you're clearly the exception), so I would love to see that clock stop.

Ok so first of all I have to say that it's not like we're close to being relegated every year.

And secondly, I know that HSV fans have a bad image but trust me, this portrayal is far from the truth. Most fans would be very happy to just enjoy a season without having to worry about relegation. There was no talking about EL or anything like that.
It's the same if I'd say that all Bayern fans are glory hunters, it's a generalization and it simply isn't true, and it's pretty annoying to read that from other fans time in time again.

And I also don't see anything wrong with the clock, i think other Bundesliga clubs would've done the same if they had this record. But mostly other fans talk about it then HSV fans themselves.

I wasn't really talking about the whole 'expectations' cliche. I never really thought that's true. I just don't like the general atmosphere around the club and in the stadium, which is a bit weird because I really like the city and the people in general. They just annoy me as hell whenever they talk about football. I don't like St. Pauli fans either by the way.

While it's true, that you had some decent seasons, overall the club significantly underachieved basically since Netzer left, you can't deny that. There's so much potential in Hamburg and the fact that Bremen overshadowed your club for more than 2 decades is shocking.

Oh and nope, the clock is annoying. I'd understand a banner showing the years in the league or something like that, but counting the seconds? Come on .
