Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Bas Dost is back :D. Great cross from de Bruyne.

I hate Hannover. They weren't supposed to be that bad, now they probably allow Hamburg to stay up .

I´m normally not the one to call out single players, but Gündogan needs to be gone at HT. Shocking performance by the worst player of a weak team: Lazy as feck, sloppy passing and with a constant evasion of important duels. Some muppets on here should take a good look at this player if they think that Gündogan can play the holding role in an EPL midfield. Unless he makes an 180 in terms of performance level when he transfers he will be eaten alive in England.

I don't get why anyone would want Gündogan to play as a holding midfielder anyway. That's not his position at all.

Not only does Perisic look like Robben (with hair), he now scores goals like Robben:

If I say often enough that Hannover is shit, maybe they play better? That would be awesome.

Well, at least it is an entertaining match, for mostly very wrong reasons but anyway...

Have been writing the same thing in the Gündogan thread over and over again but somehow the idea never dies that he would be our Carrick replacement. No idea why though and how so many people formed the opinion that he is a defensive midfielder.

Bayern's starting 11 today...

Javi is back...

Subs: Reina - Alonso, Benatia, Thiago, Bernat, Kurt, Görtler.

The one thing Götze still did well in the 2nd half of the season was finishing. Now he's shit in front of goal as well

Having made six changes, Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich suffer only their third defeat of the season at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. Hakan Calhanoglu put Leverkusen ahead with a free-kick, and Julian Brandt's goal on the break late on made the points safe. The Bundesliga champions have bigger fish to fry, though, with the first leg of their Champions League semi-final with Guardiola's old club Barcelona to come on Wednesday.

And in the bench Kurt and Goertler, never heard of them either

Never heard of Goertler but Kurt is meant to be a very intelligent player destined for big things. He played 45mins last weekend.

Gaudino has been getting a fair number of minutes lately, good for his development. Anyone know how he's been doing?

Talented maybe, but in all his interviews he struck me as rather simple.

Fortuna Düsseldorf fans celebrating 120 years of their club.

Wtf! Not bad.

Ruhrnachrichten reported today that Castro has a clear tendency towards Dortmund right now. Must be quite frustrating for the fans if they lose him after more than 10 years in the club, not very long after he finally seems to really consistently show what he's capable off and to make things worse he'd be leaving for a domestic rival who didn't even qualify for CL.

That's what you get for bottling everything.

Bayern keepers getting ready for the CL game:

If I have a son, I'm buying one of those devices for his first birthday. The moment he can stand upright, he'll be getting trained up!

 @white text

It's kinda funny how many players move between the "2nd tier" Bundesliga clubs (Dortmund, Leverkusen, Schalke, Wolfsburg, Gladbach) at the moment without anyone making a fuss. If we signed one player from one of those 5 clubs, it would be another long story how we only want to destroy the competition.

For what it's worth, Castro isn't good enough for the highest level. He's a decent player, but if he's the replacement for Gündogan, he's a step back. He's nowhere near as good as Gündogan was in 2012/13 and doesn't have any potential left to reach such a level. Dortmund should rather look for young talents and give them a chance over 2 years than continue to buy established players, that simply aren't good enough. And while Castro is regularly praised for his versatility, he's a bit difficult the moment he's actually asked to use his versatility for the benefit of the team. In theory, he's a fantastic option for the squad, if he's willing to cover at fullback as well. That's it, he's not a key piece in midfield for a team with Dortmund's ambition.

Well.. Dortmund probably aren't in the best position to attract players atm and they kinda need someone who can make a contribution right away, so maybe Castro and Geis is the best they can get.
From what I remember they were also repeatedly linked with a midfield talent from '60, Weigl, though I have no Idea how good he is.

Geis would be a terrific signing. Aren't there still rumours about Khedira? Dortmund's summer will be very interesting.

I think one of the more reliable papers ruled him out.
