Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

FCB/Line up: Neuer - Alonso, Dante, Benatia, Lewandowski, Rafinha, Boateng, Bernat, Lahm, Müller, Schweinsteiger

Subs: Reina - Thiago, Pizarro, Gaudino, Götze, Rode, Weiser.

The feck is this shit? 3 centerbacks, 3 fullbacks, 2 defensive midfielders and 2 forwards? Is Pep totally insane? Unless he wants to park the bus and sit really really deep, this makes no fecking sense at all. Shocking line-up.

BVB: Weidenfeller - Sokratis, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer - Gündogan, Bender - Kuba, Reus, Kampl - Aubameyang

At least Weidenfeller is playing, we have a chance after all. That's a very good counterattacking line-up though. If Pep plays a high line/possession game with the 8 defenders we start with and we lose, I'm really pissed.

I just don't get the excitement some people get in seeing clubs like Stuttgart and us in the bottom three. Sure it's nice and cool to make fun of Hamburg but I really wouldn't like to see a League where there's 20.000 people coming to the Stadium, the clubs don't have history or are generally flat out boring like Paderborn or Augsburg. Maybe that's just me.

I wouldn't either. But I also believe that clubs that are run awfully for years deserve to be punished and smaller clubs that do are great job with limited ressources deserve a chance. The Bundesliga needs a strong Hamburg, but if Hamburg prefers to be shit, then they can be shit in the 2nd Bundesliga for all I care.

What formation is this?
No idea, an awful one for sure though.

It looks like a classic 3-5-2 on paper, something like:

Lewandowski - Müller
Schweinsteiger
Bernat - Alonso - Lahm - Rafinha
Dante - Boateng - Benatia
Neuer
I hate it whatever way you line those players up. Hopefully Götze and Thiago can come on and make a difference similar to how they did in our last away game in Dortmund. Back then we were pretty dire as well until both came in with 30 minutes to go and turned it into a 3-0 away win.

I hope Ingolstadt continue with their bad results and don't get promoted. Lautern and Darmstadt top two, please, for some local away games. Karlsruhe to come third and play Stuttgart in the play-off for the sheer fun and carnage.

Actually I feel a little sorry for Stuttgart as they can play a good football - same with Freiburg. But what Hamburg plays it just is terrible.

Didn't really see it that much this season to be honest.

As a Bayern fan it doesn't matter though as we're all cannon fodder anyway.

That's not really true. Wolfsburg, Gladbach, Dortmund, Mainz, Augsburg, Leverkusen often put up a great fight against us, even in our most dominant seasons they challenged in some games. Hamburg on the other hand:

In the last 3 seasons, 7 losses and 1 draw with a goal difference of 5:35  and none of those 5 goals even mattered, the draw was a 0-0.

/edit:
now that I think of it, I should actually support Hamburg, hope you stay up. Easy points and fantastic for our goal difference.

Is he fully fit now? How has he been doing in the reserves, etc. Looking anything like his past self?

He hasn't played at all so far this season, doubt he's anywhere near fully fit. I'd be very happy if he's fit enough to play 15-20 minutes at the end of the game today.

Why are you comparing the likes of Wolfsburg and Leverkusen to us, obviously we are worse than those teams. 5 years a go we often nicked a win against you, good old times with Petric and all that... I'm more referring to the other bottom teams.

But for some reason even today we manage good results against the top teams (apart from Bayern obviously), didn't concede a single goal against the CL teams before the turn of the year, won 4 of the last 6 against Dortmund etc.
We're still * though no question.

Ahh okay, hope he doesnt get injured again and gets back to his best. Is up there with pogba, koke and veratti as the best midfielder of the next generation.

Like Balu said - he has not played in the reserves. But he is in team training as long as Lahm is (about 4 weeks - the national break was in between) but they took him out of it 4 or 5 days in between because of muscle problems (normal if you have such a long break).

He looks really fine in all of the training videos. But until he can play full 90 minutes it will take. But for 20 minutes in an offensive position he might be able to do something.

That sounds promising..am hoping we see him today. This season is wasted for him but he can build for the next season.

Thanks for the information.

He can still make the difference in the run-in for us, if he gains fitness. Even as an impact sub, he'd be valuable now that Alaba is out for the rest of the season and Martinez still needs time to come back.

No need to worry yet ;).

:lol::lol:

Yeah well I'm really starting to lose interest in football in general unfortunately, the last few seasons were just too nerve wrecking and I can't get excited to go to the stadium anymore as it always ruins your weekend. I was really glad there was an international break last week... Never thought I would say that.

for my still one of the biggest matches in european football!

Are we actually parking the bus today? I'd actually like that in a very weird way.

I really like Peps line up. We could use a tight defense in Porto. Big games this month and its all about a great defense.
And you can see our depth. Still a great team on the pitch.

Lahm is getting his playing time to come back to 100%. That alone is more important then the result here.

Bayern one up.

Lewandowski with a nice ball through to Muller. His shot is saved and Lewandowski headers in the rebound.

0:1!!!

Great attack move!

The best striker in the world!

Such a bad season for him. Only 18 goals and 11 assists.:D
