NFL 2024 | Let's Football

Trying some brown-nosing to get some more money out of them?

It would actually have the opposite effect with a hard cap, teams use being very competitive as an argument to offer lesser contracts in order to remain competitive.

That Miami o-line was beyond atrocious the whole game.

And I have no idea what Tua was thinking. In fact, he must not have been thinking.

He genuinely needs to consider whether he should continue playing. His concussions are frequent and would just continue to get worse and worse and that’s ignoring the long term effect which we know is very real.

It’s baffling to me the way he tried to finish that run.

And even before that whole debacle, he demonstrated why he shouldn’t have been paid.

The concussions seem a regular occurrence for him. Time to retire immediately.

With his history, it's honestly scary what could happen to him if he keeps playing.

feck. Looks like we aren't going to see the double sonic offense this year. He got injured on our first offensive snap in our first preseason game. Assuming he's out for the entire season and isn't re-signed...there can't be many players who have managed to only play the first snap, get injured then never come back.

Yeah the O-Line was getting destroyed. And their left tackle looks like he's going to miss extended time now as well. Not that it matters given the Dolphins season ended yesterday anyways.

Honestly, he should just take the money and run. And be happy he made it through 2023 healthy to get that new contract.

CMC out at the weekend, talk about him being put on IR and lot of speculation he might miss the season.

It sounds like he’d have to be medically forced to retire to get that guaranteed money I think. I’m not sure he’s entitled to it if he’s cleared to play by the doctors but chose to retire anyway. He’d have come to some sort of settlement with the Fins org.

I would imagine they’d be pretty keen to settle and avoid this playing out publicly. Same with the NFL. At the end of the day, 100 odd million is a drop in the ocean to the league.

Have to agree with that. Effectively forcing someone to play on after repeated head injuries would not be a good look.

Bills fans sadly know how it feels to watch a player suffer traumatic injuries or medical issues on the field. Even with all the equipment it’s too easy to forget how much risk some of these players take to play.

Indeed.

It was reported as a calf injury that was not gonna be an issue at all when drafting was going on. CMC is a fantasy cheat code, clears everyone comfortably.

CMC at 1.01 was the most no brainer pick of the season.

Doesn't look like too good of a pick now. To disregard his injury history is asinine. Being out for the entire season isn't the 'most no brainer pick of the season' unless one wanted to blow up the 1.01 pick for their own reasons.

Hindsight. And he hadn’t missed a game due to injury in more than two seasons.
