Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Just checked the Bundesliga table, expecting Bayern to be top and Dortmund 2/3rd... they're 17th! What the feck is going on?

A whole lot of losses. A fair amount of costly points dropped where they have been in front and let leads slip too. Fragile stuff.

Wolfsburg have had 1 great attack but are very much under the cosh here. Bayern dominating.

At least you don't have Phil Jones taking yours.
Yeah, fair enough, maybe it could be worse. But I think we scored 1 goal from 200 corners this season or something like that, I'm not sure if it matters who takes them :(

I really wonder what Guadiola teaches the team during the winter break. Same as last year, we look so much worse than before. At least Bernat is still fighting, what a bargain he was.

@Balu how has Bernat been doing when he's featured, generally?
Struggled a bit in the first few weeks but got better and better as the season went on. From November onwards I honestly didn't miss Alaba at leftback anymore, Bernat was fantastic.

Pep's Barca had a tendency of not performing in February.

Good. Big fan of him so I'm glad to hear he's doing well. Enough encouragement to consider pushing Alaba into midfield again next season then?

I hope we go back to the back three with Alaba as a left sided box to box centerback, that looked fantastic whatever it was.

The commentator over here just said that you've had 140 corners this season and have only scored once.

City have now gone over 160 corners this season without scoring from one. I'm just happy to be sharing a record with Bayern :D

Not a single one? Not even a fluked own goal or something like that? That's even worse than we are, congratulations.

Are you saying it'll get even worse from the next game onwards? :nervous:
Perhaps. It didn't really get better last year, did it?

Seriously though, somehow he usually managed to get his team ready for the knockouts, or at least till after the first leg. I'm expecting him to fix the issues they had last year at this time in the coming months. Btw, why isn't Alaba playing his centerback/box-to-box role? Too many injuries in midfield?

This is a very very strange game. The second half should be really exciting.

Yeah, if the stat I read is true. I think for the 11/12 season we were the highest scorers from corners in the league. Pellegrini has us taking outswingers though, whereas Mancini preferred in-swinging corners and it's clear which ones were more successful for us.

I guess so. Sammer said earlier that Götze struggled with fitness and small injuries in the past few weeks, so he didn't start, Ribery is injured, Shaqiri sold and Schweinsteiger, Rode, Alonso in midfield would be really really defensive, so pushing Alaba further forward makes sense.

Pretty sure Demichelis scored one against us

Yeah, think that was our last one. We've had plenty of matches and corners in between then. Kolarov took that one as well, Silva and Navas have been woeful at them this season.

2-0 Wolfsburg btw.

Wow. Got a source for that or for any other teams?
