Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

To be fair Lahm isn't that old, just turning 31 next month. He's easily got at least 5 years left as CM position doesn't require too much pace.

Wow, great piece of goalkeeping by Wiedwald!

It's a bit silly now. We should have scored about 5 more

To be fair to him, it was quite a nasty challenge for which the opposing player should have seen a straight red card.

How good is ribery's brother? Got the same potential or is he just at the club as a favour to ribery.
More a favour, he's not a special talent. From what I've seen of him (which isn't a lot to be honest) he could be a good addition for our 2nd team though.

Ahh thanks, thought that might have been the case as is 19 and have never heard of him before.

How highly do you guys rate Timo Werner? Watched highlights of the crazy Frankfurt-Stuttgart match and he looked impressive.

A lot hit and miss so far, but definitely a huge talent. I hate Stuttgart though, so I rarely watch their games.

Why is the next round played in March? Usually the 3rd round is played as the last game before christmas and the cup returns with the quarterfinals in March. Why do we have an additional game in the run-in of the season inbetween CL quarter and semi finals and league games?

Didn't know that either until now. Seems incredibly stupid. Maybe they don't want to play games during winter (QFs are usually at the beginning of Febrary) because small clubs who make it that far often have problems with their pitch. Still... I'd rather force some small clubs to use a nearby bigger stadium than feck over my EL/CL teams.

All for the big teams. Not cool.

There was always one midweek Bundesliga game at the end of the season though. Maybe they changed it, that we don't have that anymore and start a bit earlier in January instead? That would mean the number of games in the run-in stay the same. If true, it would suck for Dortmund though, they could do with a definite win in a league game because it's played midweek instead of on the weekend.

Because of the World Cup the Bundesliga started a week or two later. And the CL final is one or two weeks later as their is no international tournament in summer (no Euro, World or Continental Cup).
Instead of pressing this matches into the calendar (if I look into the Bayern matches there is only one week at the start of December without 2 matches) they put it into the next year.

When I look onto the results he often seems to be the decisive factor for turnarounds in matches. He usually is a substitute. I do not think you can really rule him out now. Like Franck he did not have a continous youth play on high level - he even dropped out of his former team and stopped going for professional football before he started in Bayern's U19 last season again. He probably will not get to high levels - somehow the brothers never do when you look to the brothers of various German players. But with this past you cannot rule out anything.

Attacks? Don't overdramatise the flicking of a scarf in his face and the raising of middle fingers please.

He approached Ribéry in a violent and aggressive way and abused him verbally as well as with highly rude gestures. That alone qualifies as 'attacks' in my book, but don't take my word for it since Hamburg's Morgenpost and Spiegel both called it an attack as well.

Matchday 10, 31/10/14 - 02/11/14: Der Klassiker, Dortmund in relegation zone
DeBruyne is really starting to shine now. Has now seven assists in the league. Wolfsburg really looks now with their development like a new contender in the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg looks scary in the last weeks. At least Mainz and Leverkusen try their best to keep Dortmund in the race for a top 4 finish.

I know the season is only one third over but I have a feeling Dortmund will finish outside the top 4 this season. That means Reus will certainly leave in the summer and Hummels might follow if he gets a good offer from a Spanish or English team.

Gladbach are incredible. Hahn 1-0. And when did Kramer become a brilliant box to box midfielder? I always though he was a great talent, but saw him as a more defensive midfielder. He's already better than Khedira in my opinion.

/edit:
brilliant game. Hoffenheim with a few great through balls and finally the equaliser through Modeste, but only 2 minutes later another great attack by Gladbach and Herrmann scores.

2-1 Gladbach now.

A lot of us see him as the coach that will follow when Pep quits at Bayern. He is a friend of Rummenigge - they have played together for Servette Geneve and shared a room then.
