Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Wolfsburg desperately need more cutting edge in their game. And their solution is Bendtner......lol.

I get the feeling that Götze fell into the celebrity trap a little to early. He seems to care more about his commercial appeal than playing football, there's no more joy in his game at the moment. I hope that changes soon.
There is a good reason why Klopp and the other officials put so much effort into shielding him from all the media hype and attention. He was not ready for that transfer, especially in terms of character.
I don't believe that. He has been really calm and mostly out of the media since his move to Bayern, he's not making a fuss if he's benched, he rarely gives interviews. There's nothing celebrity about him at the moment, at least not more than it was before the move to Bayern. It's just not as easy to come into that treble winning team and play with the same joy and confidence he did before, especially because his first year was constantly interrupted with injuries. I'm not the slightest bit worried about him.

Tbh I feel kinda sorry for the lad, his first finish was quite smart Neuer barely gets to it and then he has not even half a second to react after the ball hit the crossbar, just extremely unlucky.

Gnaaaargh! What is going on here? They're missing like crazy now!

Rode deserved a goal and an assist in his short appearance. He's really really good so far, I didn't expect that.

Shaqiri looking for a transfer, I can't explain it otherwise. He looks like half the player he used to be, like he genuinely doesn't care.

Weird, weird game in the 2nd half. Olic's goal was preceded by a hand ball, 3:1 should've counted, Malanda made himself immortal. Should've been a 5:2, really. So many misses in the end.

Not really surprised about it. He's too young and too talented to be a squad player. He's not even close to be first back-up, he really should have pushed for a move this summer, makes no sense for him to stay.

On top of that he sees players like Gaudino and PEH breaking through. Different positions I know, but I still think that it must be incredibly frustrating for someone who already has made a name for himself in Europe to get surpassed by 17 year olds.

Holy shit that Uli Potowski guy on Germany Sky always creeps me out, especially when they put Sedlaczek next to him.

Still disappointed by his lack of vigor. If you want a transfer, play yourself into the limelight!
It's a bit Pep's fault, too, because I see no reason whatsoever why Bernat starts in front of him. If he trains like he plays at the moment, I can understand it, but in terms of quality Shaqiri is well ahead.

He does not have the necessary match intelligence to play together with the guys.

Judging from 95% of today's game, neither does Bernat. It's just sad to see Shaq play like this, I really like him, but if it's like this we should probably say goodbye before it gets ugly.

Oh, forgot to mention: Fantastic debut for Gaudino!

I thought Bernat did pretty fine. He is new in the team and the match ran on the right side. Lewa might need some time, too until he really clicks with everything. He wants too much right now, too.

Lewandowski fluffed that sitter, but apart from that it was very good stuff. Always trying to open up the opponent, looking dangerous, setting people up. Fun times ahead with this guy. Maybe he can drag Götze out of his slump in the coming weeks.

Quoting won titles doesn't really work for judging a player's form, neither do scorer's, really. On average, he looked much worse than when he lit up the world at Dortmund, can't sugarcoat that. He's young enough to turn it around, of course, so lets hope he does it sooner than later.

The injury and more pressure have much to do with that. And he had much more of the show for himself in Dortmund. Sorry, but I saw a good season. My view.

Good game. Wolfsburg can and will do good things this season. Hope in the EL too.
But WTF! Why is Gaudino soo good? Great game and still 17. I never heard so much praise about him to get the idea of such a player.
Great surprise. The body must have taken the next step.

He really came out of nowhere, but that's not that unusual if you're not medially hyped as others who start out at lower tier clubs and then join a big club when 16 or something. I've never heard anybody talk about Müller either before he magically showed up. Lets just pray that Gaudino can boast a similar carreer path when he's 24.

Yeah. Good point. Our club really does a good job in keeping the talk low. Thomas was really crazy. He scored a CL goal with 19 and you saw something but he made 2 steps with 20. Double, CL final, WC 3rd and golden boot and best young player. Never saw anything like it. IF Gaudino is anywhere near his career with 24 we can dance. :D
Being so close you must really take a step away from time to time; Müller with 24;
3 CL finals, a WC final, 4 CL semis, 1 euro and WC semi, 11(?) titles with Bayern, 4 international ones with a WC and CL title. Best Bayern scorer since 2010 and 10 goals in 13 WC games. WTF :eek::lol::wenger::wenger::drool::cool:

I thought Bernat played an excellent game tonight, a huge improvement compared to pre-season. Don't know what makes you think he lacks the necessary match intelligence to be a Bayern player.

Just caught the second half after Bayern scored their second. Kind of surprised to see Gaudino starting ahead of Pierre-Emile Holjberg as well. Dante was woeful with the ball and looks extremely one-footed. They need a ball playing centre back who is comfortable on the ball and can bring the ball out of defence, especially in a 3 man defence and they will really miss Martinez in this regard. Wolfsburg also looked really threatening down the flanks and penetrated Bayern's channels and flanks rather easily. Is 3-4-3 really the way to go? I heavily doubt it...

I don't think that, I just felt that Bernat was not part of the game at all in the first half and stretches in the 2nd. It was just a response to the claim that Shaqiri's problem is match intelligence when I said that I wouldn't start Bernat in front of him (when in form and actually trying).

Bernat pretty much played the role of a traditional LB tonight, so I don't know how he was played ahead of Shaqiri who never played the position for Bayern before.

I don't think you can fault him too much for not getting involved enough. He was pretty much left alone on his flank all game, with Götze drifting centrally and Lahm, Robben, Müller attacking on the right. And he was good in defence all game.

I wouldn't listen too closely to transfer rumours concerning Bayern at the moment. Nobody knows anything as far as I'm concerned.

And Bayern lost goal when he lost his duel?

Not a lot he could've done much better in that situation. Not perfect, but not a crucial mistake either. Olic just hit one of those shots. It is still great to see him play so well after such a long time.

Great game that. It really came to life in the second half. Gotze continues his streak of never playing a good game when I watch him live. I have no doubt he has played brilliantly before, just never when I've been watching! Robben, Muller and Lewandowski looked brilliant at times in combination, and as for that young midfielder....

Hoffenheim 1 - 0 Augsburg
Comedy gold, that goal.

Oh, and it's 2:0.

How many goals did Schieber score for Dortmund in the past 2 years? It can't be many. Has he already equalised his record at Dortmund in his first game at Hertha with those 2?

The title race isnt the best in the Bundesliga but the overall quality rivals any league. Great games again, even with the "smaller" teams.

Schalke collapsed again, wonder what will it take for them to sack Keller?
