"Rashford calls in sick on Monday, misses training, and follows it up with an interview on Tuesday saying he’s ready for a new challenge." - Melissa Reddy.

It's quite simple. Rashford should be exiled and moved out of the club in January, whether that's a permanent transfer or a loan. There should be absolutely no coming back from this and Amorim must remain strong and not invite him back into the fold.

What did people expect really? He's saying that he wants to leave and have a fresh start out of nowhere during the season. Of course he's not going to play another minute until he's out.
To be fair it wasn't out of nowhere. But it was clearly crossing the line though.

Not in the squad. Not injured but dropped for 3 games. This is over it seems. That interview really crossed a line with Amorim

Who is Reddy connected to? That’s the second article this week I’ve seen from her which is basically destroying any prospect of us getting decent money for Rashford. Surely no one within the club is stupid enough to feed her that stuff?

Had a feeling Rashford's antics wouldn't work under Amorim.

For too long he has coasted of his purple patches and off field PR. He has been a first team for pretty much a decade and he has yet to be consistent for an entire season. That contract was one of the worst decision the club has made and its going to make things pretty difficult in selling him but looks like his united career is all but over.

Rashford and his ego are probably shell shocked that his PR antics haven't worked this time. He would've been expecting the club to bend over backwards to keep him, and for Amorim to select him in the team out of fear of pissing him off. Not anymore, pal, we don't need you

I'm pretty sure that this is based on what Amorim has said publicly, she doesn't share any new information. We knew about Rashford missing two training sessions due to being ill/"ill".

And all the potential buyers are well aware of the situation in detail, they don't need Reddy to tell them what's going on.

With some stuff Amorim has said and him missing a 3rd straight game. This definitely seems to me Rashford is refusing to play and won't risk picking up an injury to either be sold or go out on loan next month. Really shows how much of a problem he is. We get a manager that comes in and established it isn't Rashford FC and drops him for the derby and next thing you know Rashford PR is phoning up Henry Winters to come to a kids charity event to take some quotes about new wanting a new challenge and now he's been completely out of the squad 3 times.

I got the feeling this is on Rashford now when he wasn't in the squad for the league cup match. Definitely think Amorim would have used him in that one with the rotation he went with in that. Probably would have started him at CF instead of Hojlund

Last two managers? I mean Mourinho called (along with Lingard, Shaw and Martial) his lack of drive and living in a bubble made of his entourage in 2019....

His attitude on the pitch is crap and the fans would have turned on him years ago if he weren’t from the academy.

But his fan boys will tell you that people who are against him are actually racists.

Well turns out the guy who scored the most goals over the years wasn't the only problem.

I’m just amazed we are still conceding goals. I thought Rashford’s failure to track back was our key defensive problem.

Seriously though, we need to find a way to fix this. Whatever people think of Rashford, he’s still our most likely player to actually score some goals. Even if we are planning on selling him, we are cutting off our nose to spite our face by not even having him on the bench. It also just lowers his value so helps no-one. It’s win win for both the club and Rashford to try and work together for the next few games.

Find it hard to believe there was a single person out there saying he was the sole problem

You must have missed the entire campaign for the last 2 seasons where fans have been saying Rashford is the epitome of everything that is wrong with this club.

Thank you mate. Saved me from articulate a good answer 5 beers deep.

He is still the player in our squad with the highest chance of actually scoring. After the game against Everton he and Zirkzee should have been played together to build on but instead he got put on the bench.. Rotation is one thing that we have lacked but thats something you can do when you actually have built up your game style and gotten results, primary target now should be results and our highest chance of that is getting Rashford to fire.

Would it have made a blind bit of difference today, possibly but most likely outcome is not in the slightest.

The problems extend way beyond Rashford but he is definitely on the list of players we need to get rid of.

Epitome implies that he is the shining example of various issues seen within the club. Not the only example.

You can agree with that statement or not but nowhere has anyone said he is the only problem.

Don't really care what's going on or not, but we have to get him into the team somehow. He's on 7 goals already this season despite being supposedly horrible. We will need his contribution especially when you look at the (shockingly bad) quality of our other forwards.

If Amorim thinks this season will be a success without Rashford then i really think he's got it wrong. At least with him there's the off chance that he could suddenly click into form. Unless we're recruiting a striker in January, Rashford absolutely needs to be in the team. Sell in the summer or whatever, but we absolutely need him now. I think he scores the Garnacho chance and probably takes another one of the about 5 we wasted. You don't sideline a player like Rashford when your forwards wouldn't start at Bournemouth.

It’s a pity but he’s played his last game out for the club.
It would be tragic if it’s Rashford making himself unavailable.

I hope he keeps that game engraved in his mind eternaly and always. Instead of being sent off in front of full Old Traford, this is how he will go. On a cold night in Plzen, playing the worst game in his life for the club he so much loves.

All she is stating is pretty much public knowledge at this time. She is covering Manchester United, though, so she is bound to have some information, but I doubt she will be breaking any news.

Oh I agree, just made me laugh all the excuses Lewis was happy to make as to why Marcus isn’t performing at the moment.. one of his reasons is because Harry Maguire has never been a £80m player.. whatever that has to do with things.
That has to be a wind up surely. Right now though, Maguire is probably worth more than Rashford, as sad as that may be.

And it is exactly this type of shitty behaviour, placating lazy players hoping that they give you goals that has ensured players never reach their true potential here. Standards have to be maintained and sidelining a high profile player like him is the only way to effectively get the message out that the party is over, serious business from hereon in.

Makes me laugh how quick some people want to see us go back to making the same old mistakes, just because we lost a match

Whats that, Bournemouth beat us? Well we better forget about Rashfords behaviour and bring him back immediately. Oh and change back to a 451 or some counter attacking shite while we're at it. That'll have us back to our glorious pre-Amorim performances

No, but he's still a problem.

He is, but ultimately it's no different to Rooney being a problem some years back, or Ronaldo being a problem s couple of years ago.

Things still could, and should, have been better with them around. Giving them all the focus allowed others to escape criticism.

Well said. Apparantly a few bad results are enough to throw some principles like "nobody is bigger than the club, just out of the window". You'd think, people can't be as shortsighted but some lessons really seem to take their time.

Don't think many are escaping criticism on here at the moment. But obviously in the media players like Rashford will receive more headlines, because there will be little interest in an article about Dalot being shit
