I get your point but the manager needs to be the authority and the players are the employers, you might not agree at times what is asked from you but you still need to to your job still. I highly disagree with you that you need to motivate them to actually do their job. Case in point Rangnik...players knew he has no power and most likely he will be gone within a year ,noone took him serious while most of what he complained about was proven right in hindsight.
I find it hard to believe that a collection of highly motivated professionals who have got this far in their careers, further than 99% who try, are not willing to commit towards a common cause of winning games of football and winning trophies and must be dragged there kicking and screaming by a manager.

Everyone wants the same thing and it’s the managers job to facilitate that. If the players feel he’s wasting their time in their relatively short careers, and he’s saying things like “this squad needs open heart surgery, everyone must go”, the players have every right to say “you’re going before I do”.

We are the only club in world football that tell managers they can replace the entire squad before they can be judged. Where’s the accountability?

This isn’t about player power vs a manager, it’s about a manager getting the best out of his players at all times, regardless of who he has available. Fergie was great at this, he would manage the squad expertly, then almost randomly he would sell a player who he didn’t feel was up to it or focused anymore.

What he didn’t do was tell anyone that would listen that everyone needs to go before he can win games. Don’t make it easy for people to turn on you, win games of football and get rid from a position of power, not a position of weakness.

But one big difference is that Rangnick made that comment knowing full well that there was little chance of him continuing as manager the next season, so I don't think he was saying that as a condition for him (Rangnick) winning games. He was simply stating an obvious fact that the team at the time had a lot of problematic players that needed turfing.

And I'm not saying he was wrong. Most of the players he managed have now moved on and had to be, but you can't walk into a job, call everyone shit then expect them to work hard for you. By all means have that chat with management but maybe don't sit in pressers and say it then wonder why you can't win games or blame the players.

My memory is hazy but I seem to recall him becoming more blunt and forthcoming about these things towards the end of his tenure. Again, I might be totally wrong on that

Arsenal 2:0 Man Utd New
Just a nothing player. Offers zero, other than self sabotage.

I'm done with him.

Such a stupid loss of possession for their 2nd goal and he barely put in any effort out there.

Disgraceful cameo.

He got away with no pressing under Ten Hag and he gets away with it under Amorim as well it seems so far. Maybe i don't get football, but how can you play a player who doesn't do team jobs? The entire press collapses when he's on the pitch, leaving the team stretched.

An embarassment to the shirt

The intensity this guy plays with, he's taking the piss out of the club everytime he steps onto the pitch. First thing he did after coming on was bottle a 50/50 with fecking Saka of all people. Compare him to Amad and it's night and day.

Single handedly killed any chance we had of getting back into the game with his brainless decision making. Not much more to say really.

Doesn't have his electric pace anymore and unfortunately doesn't have a single other attribute at top half PL level.

A disgrace.

Would swap Ashley Young for him without hesitation

When he’s shit he’s absolutely fecking terrible isn’t he

Such an infuriating player most of the time

I desperately want to see him shown the door. The lad is overpaid, lazy, believes in his own hype, and overall is a terrible footballer. He epitomises Ed Woodwards vision of United being an adult Disneyland

We're stuck with him but that doesn't mean we have to play him. Just leave him rot on the bench

I don’t like joining the pile on and I have a massive soft spot for our academy players. But he was absolutely pathetic when he came on.

I don’t think he really deserves another go. Shame he’s getting one and putting feck all effort in again. He loses every single 50/50 and a good deal of the 70/30s in his favour too.

Daily reminder of the Club's ineptitude and decadence of the last decade.

The day Rashford and Shaw leaves, is the day I'll start to believe again we can make a comeback to the top.

Don’t blame him for the loss. People are always clouded by his goals and thinks he had a good performance, his all round game hasn’t been good enough even when he scored.

An idiot. If he at least played well I’d ignore him taking a chance of giving a corner away when he could’ve just cleared it out for a throw. It’s that type of game intelligence that is missing from his game even after playing hundreds of games for us.

If we can get good money need to Offload him maybe.

He has almost always been a poor sub though.

Earns more money than Salah/Son/Palmer/Saka/Cunha/Diaz.

Can't be sold quick enough, just do what we did with Sancho and sell for pennies.

Out to get another manager the sack. Amorin and Ineos have to be learning we can't progress with him. He's a liability.
