It's wild to me that some people are even slightly defending our players drinking alcohol during the season. I know people aren't robots but the expectation should still be there.
It’s not defending. It’s just reality. It’s nothing to do with United. It's wild to me that some people are even slightly defending our players drinking alcohol during the season. I know people aren't robots but the expectation should still be there.
Whatever you want to call it, defending, normalizing, excusing, is still wild to me. There's absolutely no reason why they can't abstain during the season, unless they have addiction issues of course. It’s not defending. It’s just reality. It’s nothing to do with United.
Ok, I'm not accountable for your lack of reading comprehension.I don’t really know what you’re talking about to be honest, but okay.
I’m saying it happens across the board. Have you seen what some of the city players get up to in their spare time?Whatever you want to call it, defending, normalizing, excusing, is still wild to me. Haven't we had big issues with the drinking culture at the club over the years?
You also said you don’t think he has lost pace and you disagree with a few posters, me included, who think he has lost pace.
The issues you point to, we agree upon. It’s that you disbelieve in our observations that he seems to have lost a yard or two of pace, explaining all observations away with reference to motivation etc. That only works if anyone has seen him sprint at that earlier pace recently. If none of us has, it points to that he likely has lost some pace as well as all the other issues being there.
Fair enough.I said I dont think hes lost much. I didnt say none.
All this talk of Rashford running reminded me of this.
Maybe, he just needs to change his game and become an out and out, goal poacher/ box striker. Like what Ronaldo did after he had his knee injury. Build himself up and become a menace that's just going to physically bully defenders.
It's hardly a 'complete guess' in Martial's case. He straight up confirmed that he was asked by Ole to keep playing in 20/21 (the season where it all went wrong after being our best player the previous season) despite not being able to accelerate due to an injury. And from that exact moment he had massive injury problems for the rest of his career and clearly lost a lot of speed and agility. I'd say there's a fairly strong probability that those two things are linked. That's a complete guess though. There's no way you can say that without some kind of medical and insider knowledge.
It's equally if not more possible both players just ran out of motivation. Particularly Martial who never looked like a player with the right mindset.
What did he sayQuite happy with his comments about Rashford.
Hasn't taken Amorim long to realise that this guy is a dud.
It's pretty fair...The way in which Amorim said "He has to be the first one to really really want it" did sound like he hasn't seen enough from Rashford, and that the ball is in his court.
Then he's done here... it's make or break"Why always me?" attitude incoming.
and a video"Why always me?" attitude incoming.
It's not quite the same, but it reminded me a little of Jose's comments on Wayne Rooney's position, categorically stating he's not going to be a midfielder. That kind of felt like a door closing or the beginning of the end for Rooney's time here.He must be the first manager I've seen who's come in and actually said something as a challenge to Rashford instead of bigging him up.
Rangnick did and dropped him as well. Didn't work out so well for him though, even though he was clearly correct. He must be the first manager I've seen who's come in and actually said something as a challenge to Rashford instead of bigging him up.

May sound like somewhat of a challenge set by Amorim, but just as much of yet another life-line.
It may be a given, but only just happened to have thought... What would Sir Alex have done with Rashford? Obviously, the scenario would be different with a legendary manager, but I think it's safe to stay SAF would have given Rashford his marching orders many years ago. He got rid of Becks and Stam at the top of their game, so I doubt he would have had much hesitation with this jogging-pony.
Yeah I don't think the role suits him at all. At his best, he can still be an asset, but I'm struggling to see how he fits into the team, he's just not the right profile for any position in this set up.I think he's the weakest option for the front 3. Hopefully we utilise him from the bench more.

To be fair, Rashford was a lot wider. Those chances aren’t that comparable. When their striker ran through on goal down that right channel I never for one moment thought he’d miss. When Rashford was put through onto the exact same part of the box I never for one moment thought he’d score.

I don’t think he was. He didn’t need to be anyway.
He should have finished it comfortably. To be fair, Rashford was a lot wider. Those chances aren’t that comparable.
The position from where he took the shot was from way more acute angle. Even then, he has to hit the target.
With the Bodo player, De Ligt made a step backwards which fully opened the goal for the attacker and he basically made the decision for him. Rashford went too far, thus making the goal smaller. That’s what I mean. He was through on goal and chose to delay his shot until he was very wide. I thought he didn’t need to go that wide.
Could be wrong. Haven’t seen any replays.
