Well said. Apparantly a few bad results are enough to throw some principles like "nobody is bigger than the club, just out of the window". You'd think, people can't be as shortsighted but some lessons really seem to take their time.
Right on. It's not like we were challenging for titles before he got thrown out either, with Erik indulging him we finished 8th. I'd rather we hit rock and get relegated if it meant we shrug off all the parasites on good money but who don't want to put the required effort in.

He is, but ultimately it's no different to Rooney being a problem some years back, or Ronaldo being a problem s couple of years ago.

Things still could, and should, have been better with them around. Giving them all the focus allowed others to escape criticism.
Dont be silly

The problem with all the players you mention is that they have the quality to shine even in a team that is dysfunctional. It’s not as though Harry Kane, for example, needed a team full of world class players at Spurs. He was so good he elevated lesser players. Rooney and Ronaldo could do that too, in their prime. But once they were over the hill they had the opposite effect. The team was compromised by trying to accommodate them.

As far as Rashford is concerned he either peaked crazy early, or simply isn’t as good as we thought he was. Either way, he’s more of a burden on the team than a benefit in the vast majority of games he’s played over the last season and a bit.

Getting relegated is by far and away the absolute worst thing that could happen to our club.

A lot needs to change, but we don't need relegation to be the catalyst.

And despite the shakey results since Amorim's taken over, with the change in playing style and ownership, it does feel like we're about to turn a new leaf.

Things will just need to get worse before they get better. If that means freezing out Rashford, then I'm all for it

There is no way on earth we are getting relegated this season it's pointless even mentioning it.

It's quite sad that passes as a positive as we reach the halfway stage of the season

There's enough drama without adding to the narrative (not you).

The new guy's not had a pre season or any incomings as yet. He's identified Amad which is a positive and he looks like he's keen to rid us of the deadwood so I wouldn't even begin to judge him for a long time yet.

I think it’s highly unlikely we get relegated because the teams in the bottom three are truly woeful. But we did just get bullied by Wolves who are, as it stands, in the bottom three (Leicester are 1 up at time of writing).

Our next points probably come against Southampton and then after that who knows.

Reckon he will get his farewell game against Newcastle, even if it's sub appearance he deserves something, shit way to go really if he just disappears in the January window.

He deserves feck all given the way he’s conducted himself over the past 2-3 years

Ultimately, the decision to reintegrate Rashford into the squad will rest with Amorim. However, as suggested in the post you replied to, it would be a shame if Rashford’s time at the club ends the way it seems to be heading. While many will focus on his struggles over the past couple of years, it’s important not to overlook the positive contributions he has made to the club during his career.

Hard to see how he doesn’t at least make the bench for the next match with Bruno suspended. If he doesn’t, will be interesting to see if Amorim sticks with the line that it’s his decision based on footballing reasons, which is starting to stretch pretty thin already.

What about the other years?
What about them? I didn’t feel Ronaldo’s previous excellence excused his behaviour in his last season, so in no way should Rashford’s (and excellence would be a stretch in describing Rashford’s other years.)

I’m assuming footballing reasons includes performance in training - perhaps that hasn’t been up to standard

If I have to explain then it's pretty pointless.

We’ve completely capitulated since Rashford was first excluded from the match day squad. It looks to me as though the players are against Amorim’s treatment of him.

If he’s not training well or applying himself appropriately—which, according to Amorim, he isn’t at the moment—then it’s hard to see how he could be included in the squad, regardless of Bruno’s suspension.

His attitude represents all that is wrong within the club. Believing you have made it just by wearing the shirt. Then believing you are bigger than the club and forgetting football is your bread and butter.

He doesn't deserve a farewell runout, he is being paid £350k a week.

He was dropped against City and we won…

It’s just my opinion. Something has happened behind the scenes. The drop off in our performance level over the last few weeks is insane.

I dunno which myth is more annoying. The idea that loads of fans thought simply not playing Rashford would turn us into a better team. Or that bringing him back into the team now would do the same.

Obviously dropping him solves nothing, unless his place in the team is taken by a quality footballer. Similarly replacing a poor quality footballer with a footballer who has been playing as badly as Rashford over the last season and a half will obviously not improve us either.

He was a decent player for a while, but then so was Martial. Off the pitch, it’s a different story and nothing will ever diminish what he accomplished, but then guys like Richarlison also do great things off the pitch, but that doesn’t (and shouldn’t) mean they’ll get any special treatment as far as playing time goes.

Comparing Richarlison's achievements to Rashford's? Really? And just to clarify, I wasn't referring to anything off the pitch.

We've won against City and played relatively well decent against Spurs (we've scored 3 goals from 2,58 xG... Spurs scored 4 from 0,78 xG, including the winner with a blatant foul on our keeper) and Bournemouth (again outperforming them for most of the game but failing to convert our chances and stupidly conceding easy goals, 2,66 xG vs 1,40 xG, 0 actual goals vs 3). xG aren't a panacea but they're a decent way to assess the actual performance level. We were hopeless tonight though, granted, after our captain got sent off in the opening minutes of the second half.

The issues are squad quality and our overall bottling mentality (yet another example of United crumbling straight after the half-time break?). Not the non-existent protest against Amorim's treatment of a lazy & underperforming player.

Sooner we get shot of him the sooner we can move on from this circus.
Will swiftly be replaced by another circus.... Y'all never learn

Marcus is going, but if anyone thinks this will change our fortunes on its own, they are having a laugh

De Gea who is a bigger player for United than Rashford was discarded quietly. He didn’t even throw a tantrum about wanting to leave yet we are supposed to give this guy a “send off”. Let’s stop being sentimental to the wrong people. Send him packing and let’s all move on.

I understand people wanting to stand by him, local lad etc, but he clearly wants out and has told us as such. So let’s move him on, stop talking about it and try to build a new team where people work for each other

Just because De Gea didn't get the send off he deserved doesn't mean Rashford doesn't deserve one. Rashford is right up there with De Gea as being among our most important and key players of the in the last ten or so years.

No he isn’t. De Gea was player of the year 4 years out of the time he was here and he won countless matches on his own with his saves. Rashford had one very good season with his 30 goals. Being a key part and actually performing like one are two different things. Sure de Gea made mistakes but he performed like a key player more often than not and many more time than Rashford did.
