He's not right in the head. Whether it's motivation, concentration, confidence or all of the above, something is seriously wrong.

It's sad. He's been great for periods here, but you can't live on that.

That’s all true, but fundamentally he doesn’t have the technical ability to excel in any sophisticated system.

So disappointed with him.

There's no excuse for how poor his effort is on the field.

This will become really toxic, and it will happen really fast. If he doesn’t accept loan or a sale in January, he will end up in the reserve team due to lack of effort. I'm pretty sure he is the same in training like he is in matches.

Everyone is starting to turn on him now, even his most trusted apologetics. He will ruin his legacy, and that is the saddest part.

I hate to say it but he is awfully ineffective in most games he plays nowadays. The interview(?) he did where he raged about people questioning his commitment to the club did him no favours and has not aged well, especially since he went on that inexcusable Belfast bender and when he continues to turn in solid 4/10 performances on a regular basis.

Were we justified when we criticized that NBA photo op a few weeks ago ?

It looked a bit flashy, but I was and still am surprised why people so bother about that. I see a young man just having fun with his clothing choice.

Contracted to 2028 on £325k a week. Doesn't seem like he'll be going anywhere fast.

Like all United players, I would obviously love for him to turn it around and prove his worth, but he just LOOKS like he can't be arsed all the time.

He looks to have grown resentful playing for United. He is just taking the piss with his performances and body language now.

If Ineos are serious, they need to find a way to get rid of Rashford. What more needs to be seen or said? He’s peaked as a player and clearly looks as though he’s either incapable or uninterested in trying to get back to anything even resembling his best. Fairly or not, he’s come to exemplify the rot in playing squad. He’s no longer the shining example of success that we would want all of our youth products to emulate. I’m not saying he’s a bad person, but we need players who give absolutely everything on the pitch and, ideally, outperform their contracts. Rashford does neither. Moving him on would not only allow Ineos to bring in a better player at a lower cost, but send a very important message to the locker room that the standards are being raised. The sooner the better.

How you sell a 300k+ per week player who has been playing very under his value for a long time?

Apparently, there was no interest from other clubs in Rashford, last summer or this past summer.
Nobody knocking at the door making enquiries.
I wouldn’t expect that has changed.
We have a big problem with getting rid of this (alleged) player, when we need his wages off the books and ideally some sort of fee, if we can manage to sell him.

We're trapped with him, nobody's paying him those wages. He'll be here until his contract expires in 2028.

Joke of a player, earning world-class wages and can't even put on an effort. Shit player with shit attitude.

With great difficulty, I suspect. That said, I do think there would be buyers. Even with his wage, Rashford would be an attractive prospect for a few teams. Ineos will have to accept that they won’t get a big fee for him. That’s almost certainly out of the question. For roughly 30M, though, I could see teams like Bayern, PSG and Barcelona viewing him as a worthwhile risk. They may feel that a change of scenery will reinvigorate him. The Saudis would likely pay a decent fee and give him a big wage, but I doubt Rashford would accept such a move at this point. However it happens, ruthlessness is required. They need to find a way to get it done.

Aside from his off the ball effort and work rate, not sure there’s anything more infuriating than when he stands a defender up miles from goal allowing the defender to reset, just for him to play a sideways or backwards pass.

I don't see how we sell him if he doesn't agree to a massive pay cut at his new club

Essentially we’re going to let him go on a free from our perspective but it won’t be structured as such. £30m transfer fee, and wages of 200k a week or less at his new club, and we use that 30m to pay some part of the difference in wages till 2028 (in reality that 30m allows us to spend now, and the ongoing wage commitment is less than half if he stayed). How much exactly will be negotiated, but he needs a move too so he won’t hold out for 0 reduction in salary.

New club is getting a decent deal, and with lower wages like that he’s within reach for a lot more clubs (e.g. Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle…). England international, homegrown, and maybe with a change of scenery he can get back to an acceptable level, even if he doesn’t get back to his best.

I’m convinced he will move within the PL.

I believe Ineos would need to make things uncomfortable for him at United so to speak offcourse Amorim needs to be onboard , it may not still work but I just don't see another way out .

thought the same about Sancho

Think he has given up on top level football. He’s just so mentally fragile as soon as things don’t go his way.

Was hoping that being dropped from England squad would light a fire up his arse. His attitude is sickening to watch.

Think he deep down wants to live and play in the states. But as he’s playing now, he’s not even a stand out player in the MLS and he’d demand unreasonably big wages.

He needs to go to the desert where he might look average again.

If he can't find a new lease of life under a new hungry exciting manager at his boyhood club, might as well give up. It's a shame, but he's just a total non-entity.

Having a player like him come through the academy should be such a positive for the club, and usually fans favourite.

But sadly the years of pandering to him and overpaying him has completely gone to his head.

He looks mentally checked out, coupled with the fans growing resentment, then a parting of the ways would really be best for everyone.

I think the manager saying we didn't offer a threat in behind is a big concern for Rashford considering that's literally the one thing he should be able to consistently offer.

Our best hope is really to get as much out of him for the rest of the season and hope someone will take him off us. Going to be difficult with those wages.

That won't happen. His whole game revolves around pace and directness, he's a cut in and shoot, run in behind player. Once his pace is gone, which it look like it is, he's toast.

He lacks the brains basic and technical ability to be able to adapt his game. He can't play with his back to goal and doesn't like physical contests. What role could he play?
One thing I recently noticed about this version of Rashford is that his bottom level is Championship-level bad. Part of it is football intelligence, or the lack thereof, but a lot of it is him being on a transitional period right now given his age. 27 is young but having been around at full speed since eighteen it's understandable that some of his more explosive attributes are on the wane.

I actually happen to think there is still a very good player in there somewhere but at the same time we can't afford to have passengers. We reaped our rewards with Giggs twenty-plus years ago as he undergone a similar transition but the modern game has changed even more dramatically since. Us patiently waiting for him to turn his form around, especially given our predicament right now, is lunacy.

head not just here at the moment, need a new environment like Sancho. Definitely not surprised he start banging in the goals at new club. If we are selling him should be outside of the premier league.

It’s been a sad decline that doesn’t make a lot of sense. It seems like he either won’t put his body on the line or is too afraid to.
