He's a disgrace. The guy would obviously rather be somewhere mingling with celebrities and prancing about in his shite designer gear than putting in a shift for United

Lost a decent amount of raw pace to boot of which he has been reliant on ever since. Will take a decent amount of time for him to adjust his game as he physically ages and I don't think we can afford him time for that if we're serious on winning silverware.

That won't happen. His whole game revolves around pace and directness, he's a cut in and shoot, run in behind player. Once his pace is gone, which it look like it is, he's toast.

He lacks the brains basic and technical ability to be able to adapt his game. He can't play with his back to goal and doesn't like physical contests. What role could he play?

He's not right in the head. Whether it's motivation, concentration, confidence or all of the above, something is seriously wrong.

It's sad. He's been great for periods here, but you can't live on that.

He’s been in a very poor run of form…for a few years. He needs a change. It’s not going to suddenly click here.

Really feels like the start of the end of the road. I can envisage him leaving, playing for another two years or so and retiring really young at like 30.

Thank you for your service, Marcus. Your time is up, unfortunately.

Unless the club/head coach decides to drop him, we'll keep seeing this sad shitshow every week. If he's a Man Utd fan like he says and he wants what's best for the club, he should wake up and realise that his time is up, and that he should actively search for a new club himself.

We definitely don't know the entire story behind this career collapse. But it's hard to understand the lack of motivation when you earn that ridiculous amount of money every week.

Good luck in your future endeavours.

He's only 27 but he's played more top level football than a lot of players in their 30s. I think miles on the clock takes its toll.

He was never the most technical player but his athleticism has completely deserted him and he's got nothing to fall back on.

Marcus Rashford = everything that is wrong with our great club in the last ten years. No effort, no desire, can’t be arsed attitude and on 320k a week. Absolutely done as a player…

We wouldn’t know. He doesn’t put in a shift. That’s the big issue here. People would have more patience with him if he works hard but he doesn’t.

You see old players with chronic injuries working hard and all so the miles on his clock isn’t an excuse.

Maybe i said this already but it really baffles me; you are in your prime, earning 350k per week, playing for biggest English club in biggest league in the world. Basically leaving a dream.
And despite all that you play like someone who hate his job.

Should be thrown out of the team like LvG did with Schweinsteiger. There must be consequences to performances like this tonight.
Our only hope is that one of the Saudi clubs offers actual money for him.

I’m so tired of hearing how it’s just his mental health affecting him. I really am.
I’m not even saying that. Lack of desire, confidence and focus is not necessarily down to a mental health problem.

Unless he is injured I can’t explain how he goes from his 30 goal season to this other than something mentally. What’s your explanation?

its almost like he played for a stupid contract, then checked out

That was Mourinho. It seemed personal between those two. Van Gaal loved him.

No team in England ir Europe is going to match even a third of his wages and nobody is going to pay any sizeable transfer fee either.
There’s also almost no chance one of the largest clubs being interested in buying him.

So the only options are, as someone mentioned earlier, buy him out of his contract and show him the exit, or hope a Saudi side takes him off our hands.
We don’t even need much of a transfer fee for the latter, as long as he’s off the payroll and out the door.

I know he’s been poor but was he really that bad today? I assume zero effort, just strolling around ?
He was god awful. No effort. Put zero pressure on their back line. Didn’t run in behind. Just received and passed the ball backwards. Complete waste of space on the pitch.

It's no wonder our attacking play is so shit when this guy is a part of it. His general play is horrible and his link up play atrocious. Never looks in control of the ball when he's dribbling and seems to only beat a man when he runs straight into them and gets a lucky ricochet. As bad a footballer at the top level as you could imagine

Still sad for Rashy and how this all seems to end. He was electric when he came through. Such a joy to watch his energy and style of play...complete opposite these days.

He will correctly be sold in the summer at the latest.

Rooney who had a similar trajectory in terms of starting young and playing a lot of football early never once looked like he was lacking effort even if he physically declined and lost pace. This guy is just taking the piss at this point.

Love him for his work off the pitch and how he was a lone bright spot in the dark years post SAF. But these atrocious 0/10 performances have become the norm over the last couple of years and he doesn’t look like he’s ever going to return to anything remotely resembling the explosive and dynamic player he once was. He’s done physically and mentally unfortunately.

Sadly he's well past his prime, he peaked early.

I'm not defending him but having everything doesn't always equate happiness.

I think he's trapped in a situation where he doesn't want to play anymore but doesn't want to give the money up and doesn't know what to do.
I can't think of another high profile player that has ever constantly played for so long with so little effort.
Definitely our best offensive player currently. But have to say I like him more as our RWB than as one of the 10s, i think having more room and time there suits him better currently.

Okkaay!

I feel the same. I’m sure reasons will come out eventually but he’s completely spent. Even in some of his worst seasons, he wasn’t pulling the team down in this way. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt under Amorim, but it’s got worse.

Annoys me that we didn't sell him after that purple patch season. Could've gotten 80m for him probably. But I blame Woodward and Glazers for that. The signs where there even at that time, yes he scored plenty, but his performances off the ball where pretty much the same as now.
