Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Neuer with the only real highlight of the half.

Alonso has been pretty much neutralized all game. Looks a step slow and can't really influence the game being pressed like that. Also, the movement up front is too predictable. Maybe Götze deserves a shot at playing on the 10 in front of Rode and Schweinsteiger in the 2nd half, with Müller on the left for Ribery?

Neuer  & Guardiola probably will make the right changes at half time again, but he really should start to find the right set-up from the start from time to time.

One thing I find weird is that Guardiola really does like to change the formations and the tactics in important matches. It's like he is playing Football Manager.

Neuer.

I think Götze could really help us in this match.

It would help to bring Müller. He had a hand in all first away goals this season in the league - in the first in Schalke he only preassisted - else with assist or goal. Whereas Lewa and Robben both have made 8 scorerpoints at home and only one away.

To be fair, the injury crisis in midfield screwed his plans and he can't play his prefered formations at the moment. But yeah, he's experimenting too much right now, too many players are constantly out of position in roles that don't suit them well.

For the last couple of weeks it was really easy to completely nullify our threat for about 85% of the game by using 3 players to press extremely high, then retreat close to their own goal with 2 compact 4 man lines. If that's all it takes to render us incapable of creating anything for such long stretches, Pep really needs to find a better approach. Especially in the first half.

Hoping for a stroke of genius from Robben or Ribery or a set piece is a bit too shallow for my taste.

The winter break will be a blessing for Alonso. He looks a step slower mentally and physically compared to 2 months ago.

He could be rested quite easily now with Schweinsteiger available. Schweinsteiger, Rode and Götze sounds like a well balanced and great midfield to me.

That's what I wanted for the 2nd half, but I doubt Pep will listen to me. :(

Good god, Ribery... how the hell does he not even hit the ball on goal there? Beautiful ball by Benatia and nice header by Schweini, though.

Neuer's long balls are 2 classes above Rafinha's.

Don't you guys usually win every game with like 27-0?
Nope, that's your team.

Anyone know what happened to Mhikitaryan? Another injury or why was he subbed off so early?

And it's a set piece! What else. Rejoice, oh Vato!

Happy for Benatia, but he should really ditch that stupid machine gun celebration.

fecking hell, Robben... I want your children. Deftly played by Rode. :)

It's brilliant to see how Ribery celebrates Robben's goal. A few years ago I was worried that we have to sell one of the two or watch them murder each other.

Happy, this result and Barca and my accumulator will have landed.

I especially remember Robbens miracle run and goal against Schalke in the cup in overtime. Ribery looked like he was about to kick his ass for not passing to him even though he had just won the game for us.

Lewandowski makes it three. Augsburg is spent.
Vie the post again!

The Sky commentator sounds like he just lost his bet.

Aaaand it's 4.

Robben on fire again. Nice display of vision and compusre by Rode once more.

Poor Augsburg, that's too harsh now.

I start to feel sorry for Augsburg. They played well and dont really deserve to get slaughtered. Their goalkeeper doesnt look to good imo.

To be fair, 3 goals went in off the post and the 4th was smartly done by Robben. He had shot at the far post 4 or 5 times this game and must have spotted Manninger trying to cover a bit more towards that side.
