Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

I might jinx this, but Gladbach is doing pretty well this season. Hope to see some new faces like them in the BuLi top 4 if Dortmund, Schalke, and Leverkusen continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Had to win a 2 game playoff in 2011 to not go down. And 3 years later...
Crazy good job from the board who builts the club steadly up. Record revenue last season I think.
And Favre(their coach) is a top man. He could do a great job at any club. Great tactican.

With a win against Hoffenheim tomorrow Hamburg will be one point ahead of Dortmund...

i had already gotten to the point where i found several losses rather funny than sad. BUT NOW I'M JUST...ANGRYSAD!

A win tomorrow and we're ahead of Dortmund in the table, who would've thought...

Of course Gladbach is playing very well atm, but don't forget they did last year as well, and then they crumbled in the second half of the season. Much like Leverkusen. But they certainly made some good transfers so we'll see.
They look much much better than they did in the first half last season in my opinion. They won a lot of points through pretty boring, close games, often with goals against the run of play last year year. This season, they look in control, dominating and efficient.

Agree to disagree then. But it's not like they've been amazing this season either, 0:0 against Köln, draw against Mainz & Freiburg, close win against us, not exactly convincing so far in the EL.
Just find it too early to say they'll definitely make the Top 4.

Götze is starting to gather more and more steam. After his sluggish start, who would've thought he'd top the league with 6 goals? Also, Müller casually sauntered to the top of the scorer's list (3 goals, 5 assists).

Shame that they've been crap in the Euro qualifiers so far.

Typical Müller that.

I argued a while ago that Götze's finishing significantly improved since his Dortmund days, he's excellent in front of goal these days. Calm, controled, brilliant technique. I also think that even during his sluggish start, his overall involvement was a bit underrated. He was too wasteful, too often conceded possession, but he moved into the right positions and offered creative solutions for the team, even though they rarely worked out. I never had any doubts that he'll come good this season and he has been brilliant for quite a few games now.

Let's not forget Hoffenheim themselves have been pretty good this season, though.
Indeed, they've build a very solid squad over the last couple of years. Some excellent individual players too. I wouldn't mind Liverpool going after Süle, Volland or Firmino, to say the least.

just waking up and saw the results. No surprise, bremen got tonked.
Anyone saw the dortmund match? Bad luck or just terrible performance?

I hope Schalke doesnt disappoint; they have to drops points as well

How's Thorgan Hazard doing?
Okay-ish. Looks like he has a lot of potential, but struggles a bit in Favre's tactical system. He only played 5 or 6 games as a sub so far, but he came on late in the game today and gave the assist for the 3rd goal.

Leverkusen also blew a 3 goal lead in Crystanbul style. Typical Leverkusen, I feel sorry for Heung min Son for having his effort nullfied by shambolic defending.

Not the full match, but from what I've seen, they ware awful in the first half, came out on fire in the second half and conceded the 2-1 against the run of play and I think it was offside as well. They weren't great at all, but they were a bit unlucky. Their defending is clown-ish though, it's shockingly bad, horrible and Hummels is the worst of them all.

Third :)

@Balu It seems like you'll get your wish of a title race against Gladbach.

I already hate di Matteo. Aogo in CM, Boateng as AM and Meyer on the bench. For all the criticism Keller received, he actually had the balls to tell Boateng that he has to play in CM, what's clearly his best position and where he can help the team the most. Fuchs has been shit at leftback and Aogo isn't a great CM either.

schalke 1:0 Berlin.

btw: Am I the only one who cant see this threat in the regular forum? I always have to access it via the alert system.
Do you have @ManniKaltz on ignore? I had him on ignore, then realised I can't see a thread at all if you ignore the one who created it and took him off ignore. He's banned now, so it doesn't matter anymore.

What's happened to Dortmund? Klopp out?

No. And the huge majority of fans are standing behind him. Only a few individuals. Needless to say that they are still not pleased with current results.

Here the stats of the Köln vs Dortmund Game:

Goals . . . . . . . . . . 2 : 1 Goals
Shot on Goal . . . . . . 5 : 16 Shot on Goal
Passes . . . . . . . . 326 : 605 Passes
Successful Passes 209 : 489 Successful Passes
Missed Passes . . . 117 : 116 Missed Passes
Pass% . . . . . . . . 64% : 81% Pass%
Possession . . . . . 35% : 65% Possession

Just took a glance at Bayern vs Werder match stats... 21% possession, 0 attempts, 0 corners for Werder Bremen

That freekick was funny... Alonso saw that they were jumping up when Alaba was running over the ball - so he tried it low... But - both Müller and even Robben were free in front of the goal without being offside...

what did he get banned for?

what did he get banned for?
I've no idea why, I think it happened during the World Cup or shortly after. I had him on ignore for a while, so can't say exactly. His hatred towards Löw and Müller probably drove him completely insane. It got worse and worse with every game we won, he already went completely nuts during the group stages. I don't even want to know how he reacted to Löw becoming a World Cup winning manager.

Goodbye Deutschland! Die Auswanderer ... :D

Btw, anyone watching Sportstudio? Hakan, wow...

So what's going on with Dortmund then?

Aside from their usual injury problems (players can't be inform yet): They struggle to create chances vs teams who park the bus + their defence is very sloppy atm. They probably would give teams like Bayern, Barca and Real a real run for their money but would lose badly vs teams like Chelsea 2012 or Inter 2010. And most Bundesliga teams realized that and just park the bus.

You mean Messinaldo? ;)

After that I think that Podolski is a very smart and eloquent footballer... - probably even Özil is... - why does Leverkusen not keep him away from microphones...

Can you understand why Steffen Freund did not call him up for the U-games because he wanted him to learn for school...

Was anyone else really surprised when Di Matteo just started speaking perfect German from the get-go?

Had no idea he grew up in Switzerland until he did that and I had to look up the reason.

I doubt some of that story. Maybe there is another important detail to that story... Calhanoglu's agent - who does only have three or four clients - was Töre's agent until about a year ago...

No. Because since the CL final 2012 I knew where he comes from and that he played together with Jogi Löw in Schaffhausen. (And grew up there. Schaffhausen is the border town of the Swiss to Germany. A lot of people there do their shopping in Germany or there is even people on both sides that work or go to school on the other side). I always expected him to be a coach in Germany somewhen...

Wasn't there even a (very embarrassing/pathetic) sky interview in German after the CL final?
