Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and other Bundesliga business 2014/2015

Guardiola's chair was slightly irritating though.

Guardiola's chair was slightly irritating though.

Why? It added some personal character to the whole thing ;)

Congrats on making the Semis. Now please no duel in Munich this time. Lets settle it in the capital.

Classy from Pep to give Thiago the 5th penalty, and he delivered.

What a dreadful match though..

And the biggest loser of the whole thing? Felix Zwayer. Let´s hope he is nowhere near such an important game for a long time.

Yeah, that's okay for me. We'll get Bielefeld in the semifinal and you kick Wolfsburg out and we'll play each other in Berlin. I take that.

Müller  "The penalty shootout wasn't really that decisive for the game". Are our players drunk during games?

3 things to be glad about: Thiago didn't get injured, we didn't go out and we can't run into Favre's invincible counters in the SF. It's something.

Yes - but Benatia seems to be injured... That is another one. Bayern only came with 16 players. Gaudino and Weiser two of them.

Would like to thank Mönchengladbach for stopping me winning a grand today. It was the perfect way to end the evening.

Thanks/danke shon

Can't they just do the draw? No one wants to see that godawful shit and it's already really late. Unbelievable.

:( .. at least at home.

the cup semifinals:

Bielefeld - Wolfsburg
Bayern - Dortmund

So everybody's darling Spahic was apparently involved in a fistfight with stadium security (note that we're talking about his own club's security here). Reports suggest that a couple of his friends weren't allowed to enter his private box through the inner part of the arena which led to some fisticuffs. Police are investigating.

Spahic is the biggest cnut in the league. I hope he gets banned for a long time.

He's out for the season with an injury anyway. What a guy, even though he's injured he still goes hard!

The piece of shite.

Tuchel to be HSV manager next season, regardless of the division they play in. Damn. Why would he do this to himself?

HSV still carries some prestige despite sucking big fat hairy balls the last few years. If he can build up a team in 2nd league and bring them back to glory, it'd be his masterpiece. Not sure if he has the guts to deal with the perpetual mismanagement at Hamburg, though.

On a more sarcastic side note: Local Hamburg radio has bets running on relegation already. :) I guess by now even Hamburgers prefer a clean start from 2nd league. The endless struggle just to maintain the status of being the only unrelegated team is getting tedious... I do live in the wrong city... *sigh*

If Tuchel really takes over, he should do it now and save them from relegation. Pay Mainz a bit of money to let him out of his contract and let Tuchel start the rebuilding in the Bundesliga instead of the 2nd Bundesliga.

Even Tuchel can't guarantee promotion next season and even if they go up again next season, they've lost 2-3 years in comparison to what he could achieve if they stayed up. Relegation means they miss out on a lot of money, prestige and will struggle to attract players. They'll have to fight it out against Leipzig and maybe Stuttgart as well along with a few other big clubs in the 2nd Bundesliga. It's really not that easy to finish in the top 3 and 3rd might not be enough to go up anyway.

If you want to see how a squad with a lot of injury problems looks...

Bayern's team against Frankfurt...
Reina - Alonso, Dante, Weiser, Lahm,Thiago,Rafinha, Bernat, Götze, Müller, Lewandowski

and this is the full bench...

Neuer - Gaudino, Rode, Badstuber
(Badstuber cannot play more than some minutes, Lahm and Thiago do not have 90 minutes in the tank either. Most of them played 120 minutes on Wednesday)

I would not be surprised to see Neuer as a field player today...

This is surreal...

I should put a 5er on Thiago getting his entire leg shattered today.

That bench is hilarious

Hope Thiago does well on his first start. His birthday too apparently.

Injured or not fit enough to start:

Ribery, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Alaba, Badstuber, Benatia, Boateng

Starke, Pizarro and Kurt are also injured, that's a full team and it's a damn strong one.

Neuer playing as a sweeper with Reina in goal would be kinda cool though, I'd love to see that

We always wanted to see Neuer as a field player. Maybe we get the chance. In U17 or U19 he was subbed in as a field player in a Schalkederby against Dortmund and scored a goal...

The only thing that really matters is that there is no new injuries today. We are still 10 points ahead.

And I doubt that Lewa and Müller get rested today... - this team has a lot dwarfs... - that is risky with set-pieces...

Pepe Reina played in midfield for Liverpool in a friendly too...could test out a Reina/Neuer partnership.

Our third goalkeeper is injured as well, so we need at least one of them in goal ;).

It´s a good timing for Porto to play Bayern. Problem is that they also have key players injured such as Jackson and Tello missing the Bayern match. And Porto squad depth isn´t as good as Bayern´s. Not underestimating Bayern´s injury crysis of course.

The squad against Porto hopefully will look like this:
Neuer
Rafinha - Boateng - Dante - Bernat
Alonso
Lahm - Thiago
Götze
Müller - Lewandowski

Robben instead of Götze would be fine. But else it really does not look that bad.

Boateng gets rested!
