Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

If there is a no deal, is there a risk to the transport of the/a vaccine into the UK?
Especially considering the temperature control requirements.

Presume they would be flown in but will a UK-EU aviation agreement or non-agreement come into play, I don't know.

Imagine being in a situation when in 7 weeks time you have no idea how or if any goods can be transported/delivered into the country, especially of this importance.
The people who instigated this have to pay dearly. One day...

Possibly, there's a minor crisis bubbling away at the biggest port for the past two weeks. Combine that with Brexit and transport will be painful for January. I expect vaccine's will be flown in, and expedited through the normal import process.

You may well be correct about the vaccine being flown in. But the issue remains doesn't it. We, the UK will be importing medical products from the EU with no agreement on how that should be done.

I am sure that plans are in place for this. But it does illustrate what will happen on a broader scale if the government ego's take the place of basic logic.

The issue just isn't on medical products, it's on absolutely everything we import or export. We're currently trying to work out a scenario in our workplace where we're accepting payment in the EU and shipping when we've left the EU. An operational headache, and with zero clarification from government.

It is just staggering that it is THIS bad.

I didn’t want Brexit. I thought it was stupid.

Never did I think four years or so later it’d be going this badly. It’s... horrendous. There’s clear incompetence everywhere and the latest news is an EU negotiator making silly puns on Twitter as the deadline looms large.

Luckily the man who is leading us is the type of man who started the countries’ response to the global pandemic by telling people to shake hands with people in hospitals.

If Brexit is going to be the unqualified success they keep telling us it's going to be, why aren't they all sticking around to bask in the glory?

Seems to me these advisors jumping ship, or at least threatening to, are vote leave. It is almost like they are purposely sabotaging last minute negotiations on purpose.

Dominic Cummings signals he'll leave No10 by Christmas after PM's top aide quits

Anyone with a brain larger than a pea knows that Brexit will be an unmitigated disaster. There is no path where it could lead it to being a success, at least not for the man/woman in the street.
The rats will disappear as soon as they can.

Yes I realise that it affects everything. I was just using medical supplies as an example.
I am hopeful that the PM is taking a more sensible stance with the exit of his key adviser and head of Comms.
But time is increasingly tight.

I would dearly love someone to explain to me in simple terms, in what possible scenario could Brexit be even remotely a success.

I believe they are not only jumping ship but also leaving at a key strategic time to impact negotiations and push us towards no deal.

The behaviour of Cummings could not have been calculated any better to cause maximum damage to the UK.

Does make me think about his Russian connections and his time spent living over there. Especially when combined with the Russian report.

I see the rats are abandoning the ship they helped sink. No doubt well paid private sector gigs await. Colour me surprised.

With this cnut gone, I'd guess we're going to ask for an extension to the negotiating deadline, due to Covid.

Boris, without this cnut with him, will no way allow a no-deal break now

It's been like that since September, at our workplace we've got containers sitting there waiting to come in from 3 weeks ago. The delays are more down to staff testing positive and others isolating, plus they put some of their more experienced employees on furlough. Brexit will only exacerbate this situation.

But in reality, were we ever?

No it never was. All EU countries were independent and free to make their decisions. All had to agree for any agreement to take place. What it was a huge and powerful union that can get almost all of Europe on one agreement. The only one big enough to stand up to the USA. The only one the US was hesitant to take on. UK was crazy enough to leave that huge and powerful block. By listening to people like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson they have destroyed the future and also more importantly any influence the UK had on the world. Yes they are a member of the UN Security Council but their influence now is less than that of India who has a lot more influence in Asia. Even South Africa has more influence in Africa.

I always thought it was one of the stupidest ideas I'd ever heard but it is looking far far worse than I imagined.

I just tuned into Sky News briefly and a Brexit MP called Bridgen was saying the EU will back down because 70% of their business is with the UK. No challenge from the presenter, Adam Boulton . How do these people get away with saying so much rubbish, the UK media is useless and uninformed, and the people are stupid enough to believe this crap.

At this stage most people, not only Brexiteers, have absolutely zero idea what they've let themselves in for.

I have heard Bridgen make this same statement many weeks ago. And it was utter bullsh1t then and he was not challenged either.
I am afraid that he is a deeply staunch Brexiteer and even delights in the concept of a no deal.
He is either a halfwit or has been completely brainwashed, or in his case both.
Just ignore the stupid twat.
But at least you can see the type of dim assed politicians running the UK.

He's doing the rounds spouting this nonsense today too, just being given a platform to misinform, unchallenged as you said.

EU 'scared' of post-Brexit success as desperate bloc fears 'UK economy out-competing them'

Mr Bridgen explained the UK is the EU's biggest trading partner as it takes 70 percent of its exports. He claimed that the bloc is "scared" of the prospects of the UK economy outdoing them in the future. Speaking to Sky News, Mr Bridgden said: "We're the EU's biggest trading partner, 70 percent of all their exports come to us.

But how does he get away with this, you'd have to be the dimmest moron on Earth to even give the slightest credence to this claim.

Just in case there are one or two on here - the most affected country in the EU is Ireland and less than 11% of their business is with the UK. France and Germany are two of the next biggest and theirs are both less than 7%.

our UK media have done more calling out Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claims about the election, then they do calling out UK politicians lies
