Our best rwb and our best 10, I do like him with Antony outside of him, maybe that can be a quick and offensive right side for us.

Would Ten Hag still be here if he played him?
No, and more disturbingly, I think if ETH were still here, we wouldn’t be seeing the best of Amad and he’d be heading towards the exit next season (please god get the contract sorted!)

That’s also a weird take - none of us have the slightest clue where he’d be now if his development opportunities had been different.

If he’d have been given more opportunities at Utd earlier on, he may well be ahead of where he is now. Or not. We’ll never know, but his talent suggests giving him more opportunities at an earlier stage would have been a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

It is 100% hysterical to cry about “complete mismanagement” and “unnecessary loans” when a young player (who was always physically slight) follows a similar development pathway to loads of other, similarly talented players. There’s nothing strange or unusual in very good players spending a season or two in their teens out on loan. It’s been the making of many of them and looks to have done Amad no harm at all.

You’re missing the point. You don’t know that. Just like he doesn’t know the loans were unnecessary.

I think you’re missing the point. We’re not talking about wasted talent. We’re talking about someone who’s becoming a top PL player at a very young age. So backseat whinging about how his development has been mismanaged up until now just seems ridiculous.

As I said, he’s always been physically slight and also had issues with injuries. So a season being the main man at a Championship team, starting every game when available, will have done him a lot of good and there’s every chance he wouldn’t have played nearly as many minutes at a PL club trying to qualify for the CL. And the best thing for every young player’s development is time on the pitch. To call the decision to send him to Sunderland “complete mismanagement” is absurd.

It's mad to think that all of Lingard, Elanga, Forson and Antony has been preferred over him since he was signed. You could add Sancho too, but he was always better starting from the left. And apart from maybe Sancho, neither of those mentioned have been anywhere near Amad talent-wise and their performances never really made it any better.

The most insane part was Maz at 10 ahead of Amad.

That was fecking bonkers and a sackable offence.

And credit to Ole for signing him. Had to get game time elsewhere but came back fighting. One of the first names on the team sheet now
He’s a club signing like Pelestri. Ole wanted Sancho.

Amad had already played a bit in Serie A but Ole stuck him in the under 21s and didn’t give him much of a chance at all even when we didn’t sign Sancho.

The balance the kid has is incredible. Seems so hard to push off the ball. His touch is silky smooth too

He’d be getting no minutes now and we would do our best to get rid of him next Summer.

The great thing about him is that you could play him anywhere except in defense and he would be excellent

Mowbray was key to Amad’s development in the simple sense that he consistently played an elite level talent. That’s all Amad has ever needed. He’s finally — four years since his debut — getting consistent playtime at this football club and he has 6 assists in 1 goal in his last 7 starts.

I hope we can extend his contract at like 90K with a handsome G/A-in premier league or UCL bonus (say, 50k if he got G/A in a premier league/UCL game)

Finally Amad has arrived. Delayed due to ETH nightmare but he has finally arrived.

You’d only need watch wolves game he started at end of season few years back to see this boy should have played much more in last four years. We’d have seen the same much sooner.

Just looking at his stats from the game. Usually with creative players you accept that a lot of passes they attempt won't come off. His pass completion last night was 94%!

He's such a unique footballer. We haven't had anyone with his set of skills at the club for a very very long time. Maybe ever?

Couldn't agree more, absolutely world class talent. I don't think we've ever had a player of his profile.

He basically never does stupid shit, which is pretty rare for a young forward. The only minor annoyance with him at the minute is that he seems to have Rashford levels of offside awareness!

He kissed thé badge today and with a manager who rates him. He will stay.

Always have had him, in potential, higher than Garnacho or the other options. Raw, still, but passes the eye test.

Always felt he could be our David Silva or Pedro type player. When he was signed, Gary Neville was spouting off that the Glazers should just get out their cheque book (showing his age) and complete the Sancho deal and give Dortmund what they wanted!

Amad, Bruno, Maz and Garnacho (despite losing his head recently) have been our 4 best signings for a long time.

I wonder if Mata is the most similar we’ve had? Shame he never really hit the heights we hoped he would hit.
Not a bad shout in terms of technique and intelligence, Amad is far stronger, faster and more explosive though. I was comparing him to Bernardo Silva last season but I actually think he might be more talented than that.

Considering Rashford gets this a week, I'd be fine with Amad earning this a month if it means he's racking up goals and assists!
It will be too soon in my opinion.
But we need to get ride of Rashford and his big contract sooner rather then later considering his contribution on the pitch.

Yeah I was gonna say he needs to work a bit on staying onside. Could've been through a few times in the first half if he timed his run better. Absolute baller though and really happy for him. Hope Amorin continues to play him as one of the 10's.

Genuinely delighted for the kid, seems so level headed and well liked by the whole squad.

Probably still be on the bench if ten Hag was still here, probably would have left the club in the Summer if Forson had signed a contract.

I really think that it was ETH's way of signalling to the board: 'go on then, feckin sack me and give me my millions. I have so lost the plot. Sack meee!!!
