What simple ball are you suggesting? He's surrounded.

Show me the full pitch and I can promise you that if 4 Newcastle players are that close to him (but none within 4 yards), there are United players in space.

Just watched, Maz is behind him, conveniently removed from the pic, Maz then has a simple ball inside on to Mainoo. Amad’s obviously been our best player this year but here he took a few too many touches before moving the ball on.
In these situations we should be delighted when a side push so many on Amad and should be planning on switching over the play as fast as possible to create a 2 v 1 on the opposite side.

If I was Arsenal, with the saka injury I will be all over this. If our form continue like this there is a world I can see him gone.

Not saying you're wrong but man, it would just be United if somehow they're all still marked out the game

Unfortunately I think his great form is over. Was nice while it lasted and I have sympathy for him because so often our buildup play is twice as good down the left, and we see so much more of it, but on the right we struggle.
You make it sound like it's gone forever.

If he doesn't want to stay without a ridiculously big contract that invites laziness and kills motivation, he is welcome to leave imo.

Nothing against him, I think he's been great, but the culture of the club needs to change. It's funny that they all play their best football in the last year of their contracts.
I don't think that's a charge that can be leveled at Amad given ETH's refusal to play him much last season.

I feel like he's not quite been the same player since that City game, whereas previously he seemed to focus on playmaking (almost to a fault) he seems to now be going for the shot himself more often.

I wouldn't blame him if he leaves tbh the club is a joke, might even be better for his career/development.

I am praying that it's sensible and in line with other clubs' wage structures.
What would you think is fair? Serious question - not based on our club but in football, where do we reckon he'd come in at with a rival? £100k with £50k incentives? Highly promising youngish player (22 years old, supposedly on £30k)

To be honest I have no clue but the days of us giving crazy wages need to be over. If it was up to me I would get a list together of similar calibre/potential players and look at what they're paid. Ultimately the players who want to be here would stay, even if we offered BELOW market value.

Liverpool 2:2 Man Utd New
Not his best game yet again, think he needs to rest. Was invisible for the most of the game, missed that big header in the first half, but then came up with the goal and fought hard till the end. I wanna see him develop to be more impactful across the 90 minutes

Far from his best game but there's nothing he could do with that header.

Quiet game by his standards but still setup that chance with a nice through ball and scored the equaliser. Proper United player.

Erm, yes there is. Should have timed his run better.

Anyways he scored the winning goal against liverpool in the Fa Cup last year, got the winning goal against City this year, and another important goal today. He's showing that he can be a big game player with these decisive moments

Once again he showed that he is our most talented player, and more mature in his game than the rest.

I don't want to moan today especially in his thread, but how incompetent were the people last year who didn't renew his contract on time?

He ran too fast ;)
That's all, he couldn't predict exactly where the ball was going to be played.

Ludicrous criticism. How is he to know exactly where the ball will be played?

Was quiet but kind of expected playing at anfield but came up with the goods when most needed.

Turning up in the big games is a great sign. Get that contract signed and hopefully we have one we can rely on and should only get better.

He will be more inpact full acroas the 90 when we get other players that can be a constant threat aswell.

Glad he scored there. Been a bit on the quieter side in the last few games.

Such a big game player. Scoring today and agains City. Coming with the goods in the most important part of the game.

I honestly like him more as a RWB tham a CAM on Amorin system though. I rather see Mazraoui as a CB

He should be one of the #10s in the long term but I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved back to RWB until we get a LWB. Mazraoui just doesn't seem to suit wing back in this system.

Yeah I agree that long term he should be #10, but I also think he is our best RWB to. I agree we need a new RWB and a LWB and Amad fully move to #10 after that

Delighted for him that he scored a very important goal. I just wonder what more we need to do to get him into the game and on the ball more often. It seems to be the case that we attack on the opposite flank to him. Also, as he is one of our most dangerous outlets, the opposition are now doubling up/ganging up on him. This is good in a way, as it frees that space for somebody else. But, the conundrum there is that he isn't always surrounded by players who are pacey enough to support him and get around him. I don't think we'll truly see the best of him until we bring faster players into our squad.

I honestly think a pacier, more mobile number 9 would do wonders for him. I think that's what he needs to now go to the next level.

Amad is in pole position for that Sir Matt Busby player of the year award aint he?

A quiet game today. Everything we did well today came from the left. However, he continued to try and make things happen and thankfully got his goal.

Good to see that despite having a quiet game, he could still contribute with a goal. I think his best position is a RWB though and I think Amorim would prefer him there once he figures out who should play next to bruno.

Quiet performance but you can never sub him off because of what he can offer on and off the ball. I think it might be time to switch him back to RWB for a bit and utilise Garnacho's pace in the final third.

Wasn't as involved as we'd like, but generally most of the things he did do were quality. He's definitely the type of player that will go from strength to strength if we get other players on his wavelength around him.

Probably. The two players that were ahead of him (Mazraoui and Onana) have both fallen off quite a bit recently.

A quite game from him until the goal. He was more involved after that. I'll take an equalizer at Anfield on a quiet day though!

Some of it was tactical to be fair. We clearly set up in a very lopsided way trying to put as much pressure on Trent as possible and it paid off.
