Great news, I guess we will see the best of Amad after adding 1 or 2 quality front players along with a good wing back.

And yes, tie Mainoo down to a deal as well and, with Yoro too, we start to have a young core to be excited about.
If it's true that Amad will be on around £125k/week, then I think Mainoo will be on similar money as well, if we extend his contract. Also, all of Zirkzee, Yoro, Ugarte, Mazraoui and Amad will reportedly be between £105k-£135k per week. I guess that's the ideal range for Ineos, for important first teamers who don't have the status and reputation to demand super high wages yet.
If we sign Nuno Mendes at one point, I'd expect him to fall into this range too, considering his low salary at PSG.

Maybe, but Amad also has all the leverage since we fecked up not renewing until now where he's currently our best attacker. Factor that in, and it's not a crazy price at all really.
We've a relatively kind next few games in the league now at least, perfect platform for him to add to that, especially if the team does start to click.

Well it's the first time ever in recent memory one of our managers has actually roasted the players after a one off performance against a rival, instead of praising the cnuts, so here's hoping it works.
Definitely good news, if 125k is true, I'd consider it to be on the higher side but still ok. My personal feeling with him is that he is going to be an important player for us but I don't see him at the highs some people do see him in. Think it will be interesting to see how he is going to cope with more and more teams being prepared for him.
The fact that a mostly unproven player like Amad has leverage over the club is a damning indictment itself. However, we should be clever with dealings in the future. Example being Mainoo. We can offer him a better deal but it has to be a marginally better one so he remains hungry to improve. Too often we’ve seen our young players performing at a mid-table club level but getting CL money.
Yeah, like I said we fecked up not trying to extend Amad last year (granted he probably might not have been open to it anyways given ETH couldn’t care less about him), but at this point in time given his age and production this season the club has to sacrifice and go a bit over what they’d like wage wise.
125k is still perfectly fine for a regular starter though, don’t think we have to make too big a deal of it

He was our best player at RWB. Ever since he's gone into that inside forward position his contributions have dropped massively. But we have no alternatives. Rashford was presumably supposed to play that role. In an ideal world that would been great, and allowed Mazraoui to go back to LCB. Crazy how we have basically two players (Hojlund and Bruno) for the front three positions and Hojlund isn't even that good (yet).

I don't think he has (too lazy to go check the stats to confirm). And i'm not saying his performances are worse. Was a comment on the system rather than Diallo. Diallo at RWB with Mazraoui at LCB worked wonders for us. Ever since we've switched that up in early December did we see team performance drop.
That has less to do with him being worse at #10 than it does the fact his replacement can't progress the ball to him.

125k is a lot but then you look at Casemiro, Mount, Eriksen, Rashford, Bruno all on 300k+ and realize our wage structure is just disastrous. Should never have anyone above 200k until we're competing for real trophies
Throw him back to RWB. He was amazing there and gives us an extra threat from deep. Maz is better at RCB in this system.

Ideally he’d be on less than 100K as he’s only had a few months of being an important player which is, frankly, minuscule in the grand scheme of things. But as you say, the reality is that we do have this insane wage structure and this is probably the best we could do in that context
