I’d like to try out him and Garnacho on the right or him or Antony or just him or Dalot. Mazraoui isn’t working as a wingback.

I feel for him when he plays in the right-CAM. If he was playing in a 4 2 3 1 or a 4 3 3, when on the right he would have a RB potentially overlapping, a CM as an option, a 10/8 as an option and a CF. In this formation he's lucky if Mazraoui can even make it up to him and only has a CM to pass to or the CF if they are close. So he has less options than if he was a winger in a 4 2 3 1 or 4 3 3.
He's effectively playing with a defensive fullback behind him...in a 3 4 3...we are shooting ourselves in the foot tactically.

He had Dalot behind him for about 5-10mins of the match late in the second half and then Dalot went to LWB as Antony was brought on to play ahead of Amad

Agreed. It was pretty much his press that brought about our penalty. 7/10 performance from Amad today and the only real hope we had. As usual.
The guy needs help. He looked knackered both physically and mentally, knowing deep down that if he doesn't score / assist, then chances are no one will. We need a left sided 10 urgently.
It wasn`t an excellent performance - and I don`t think he could have done a lot better under the circumstances - but he was not poor. A (slightly) above average performance would be a fair rating
What is well in a game like todays? He was our most dangerous attacker, created a few good chances and his pressing played a major part in our penalty goal. He also had a moment where he defended very well against Mitoma on a break. He lost the ball a few times and didnt go past his defender every single time but no attacker in the world does that.
It wasnt a performance that will be spoken off in years to come but overall i thought he did well in a game where the opponent was better than us. Calling his game poor seems a bit harsh.

You posted this in September. If that was your judgement and standard for Amad then fair enough but how do you feel about Garnacho now?
I absolutely do not believe you have an agenda. I genuinely do not. I mean looking at your replies in this thread alone, it definitely does not indicate that. It would be ludicrous to assume that of course.
The plan should be to isolate him 1v1 as much as possible like Arsenal do with Saka. I dont think we give him the ball enough in dangerous positions.

Why is his pressing so good and causes so many turn overs? His timing is impeccable. Is it so hard to train that others in the team can't do it?
I think he's better as a wing back than as a #10
First of all, he actually presses with intent so that helps, but I also think he can be deceptively quick over short distances and he knows when to accelerate to catch players out. He is also just really good at getting a foot to the ball and getting himself between the ball and the opposition.

Well, that's just nonsense. His last 20 minutes were poor but he went through so much work before that and was United's most dangerous player.
That's definitely a harsh take. He over did it a lot today, but he definitely isn't a head down player.
Give over, he's the only player capable of putting corners in, put balls into dangerous areas and play one twos. Messi rarely had his head up but knew where his team mates were.

Yeah and I didn't even think it was "poor" he just cocked up a couple of his final actions. Was roasting his fullback though and should have had an assist for the Garnacho sitter (really should have had 2 assists today, that Yoro foul was bullshit)
If Amad is selfish. Garnacho, Rashford and Bruno has to have been extremly selfish through out our last years.
He really needs to start looking up, two easy goals were taken off the board today because he just refuses to have a look.

The one player Amad has to study is salah, he uses diagonal passes so effectively, amad either dibbles forwards or passes backwards. there were multiple occasions where zirkzee and garna were on shoulder of defence and Amad passes backwards. Just needs a small tweak for runners to go forwards when Amad has the ball and it will add attack

And its an area of his game that is regressing, he had a couple against Brighton where as well hes getting away from the simple things. It's not an emergency or that he isn't capable but it needs driling at all times.

He's such a threat but needs to work on his finishing, could have easily scored 2 tonight (the Bruno chance in the first halfand especially the Lisandro one). I do love to see him glide past players though, such a technical player. That touch to bring the ball down from the sky was exquisite.

He's getting way to selfish for my liking, the strikers as poor as they are don't stand a chance they have no idea when or if he is going to release the ball. Amorim needs to have a word and tell him this is not the NFL all these solo glory runs when there are players in better positions

Of course, there's room for improvement but watch how many moves start with him and his work around the box is always intelligent and provides chances for the team. That's not indicative of low IQ, I think he's one of the last players in the team who exemplifies that.
