He was 100% ready from the day we signed him. He was already this dangerous at Atalanta and he was superb whenever Ole played him in that first season. He scored and played excellently in a European quarterfinal for crying out loud. His stint at Rangers was plagued with the same issue that plagued him in the Ten Hag era. Playing for an incompetent manager who has no clue what a good talent looks like. The two times he has played under managers who believed in him enough to give him a proper chance, he has shone brightly. Its why I always challenge people who think the manager always knows best. No they do not always know best. Especially when they are grossly incompetent at their jobs.He clearly wasn’t ready though, went on loan to Rangers didn’t do much, was only when be went to Sunderland he started to show glimpses of his ability
Can we register 167?Nooo he's got the spirit of Keane with 16
Jim Lawlor!*Thank you Ole!
For some reason I read that in Jim Ross voiceJim Lawlor!*
Thank you Ole!
He's been our best player for a couple of months now.Can we have another 3 of this young man please? Quickly becoming our best player.
Would probably be on his way elsewhere if ten hag was still aroundCrazy to think we had this guy and then spent another 150m on two RWs before even giving him a chance.
If you watched him at Sunderland, it wasn't glimpses. A few of us here used to watch Sunderland and discuss his games. He was a consistent game changer after the first few weeks of getting to know his teammates. He clearly wasn’t ready though, went on loan to Rangers didn’t do much, was only when be went to Sunderland he started to show glimpses of his ability
Probably? You could give him our player of the season award tonight.Yeah he's class. Probably our POTY so far.
People genuinely believe the manager suggests and signs all the playersJim Lawlor!*

From where he was pressing from to score his third, it looked like he'd swapped with Antony by then. I think it's better for them both.He too was frustrating on several occasions before the goals but you can't say much when a player finishes the game like that. Well done to Amad, he saved us. Was he still a RWB towards the end when he scored or moved to that position behind the striker?
Bingo. If you watched him at Sunderland, it wasn't glimpses. A few of us here used to watch Sunderland and discuss his games. He was a consistent game changer after the first few weeks of getting to know his teammates.
I'll be honest, there was a tiny bit of doubt as to whether he'd be able to do it in the PL, but it was clear he was at least miles better than Antony.
The loan to Rangers was a farce. I believe Gerrard was the one who got him in and then promptly left?
Either way, he did very well his first game or (may have even scored), then if I remember correctly, Van Bronkhorst threw him into the Old firm derby away, he had a poor game in a match where Celtic completely outplayed Rangers, and after that, he was out in the cold and only played if there was absolutely no one available.
I didn't understand why Antony came on as a 10. His previous good cameos were as a wingback and he was rubbish against Spurs as a 10.From where he was pressing from to score his third, it looked like he'd swapped with Antony by then. I think it's better for them both.
Yeah Antony is poor in attack and can be decent at RWB.From where he was pressing from to score his third, it looked like he'd swapped with Antony by then. I think it's better for them both.
I actually think he'll hit that in the league. He's only getting started.Don't look now but he's 1 goal and 3 assists away from a double-double season
Feel confident he'll get there
I hope the 'play him at RWB' comments stop now.
All our of progressive play pretty much stopped dead in its tracks in the first half because he was busy being basically a right back to give support to Yoro.
Yeah. Would be a bit different if you had some freakish expansive passing RCB and CM to cover in the build up and essentially let him play high and wide, but right now he has to track so deep in build up it’s pointless (especially when the best option ended up being hoofing it to a front 3 of all terrible hold up players)Yeah he definitely offers something there as I'm sure he would in a lot of positions but it does make sense for him not to spend half the game in his own half.
Get out.A new star is born!
A(re) (you) MAD ?
