At least he was trying to pass tonight. One of my favourite player but sometimes I think he would be better for last 30-20 minutes. Needs good coatching

That’s exactly what he hasn’t had. Hopefully Amorim will provide it because he has serious talent.

This was much more noticeable tonight and he looked a much better player for it. He wasn't great tonight still but much improved over whatever was going on against Chelsea.

Clearly tried to pass but probably for the first time in his life as his passes looked to be from someone who had never done it before.

A bit better tonight. Put in a decent cross where Hojlund was nowhere to be found and then you could argue he could have had a penalty tonight.

I’m really, really concerned about this kid!!!
He's doing grand as a 20 year, he's just not good enough yet to be starting week in week out for United. Type of player that should be starting in cup games or coming on in the 60th min when a game is done and dusted . All the potential is there though.

I prefer him to Rashford ( not peak but that version is gone) who is obviously his strongest rival in terms of team.

Not a chance that was a penalty, he kicked the defenders leg not the other way round, Amad should probably have had one though

If you compare him to Ronaldo at the same age, he's not far off in terms of goals and assists. I think people kind of forget just how frustrating he was at times during his first 2 or 3 seasons.

Not saying Garnacho is going to be near as good as Ronaldo, but there are similarities there in how they play at the same age. I can remember how frustrated RVN and other players would get with Ronaldo for not passing or crossing.

I think he's on a similar trajectory to Anthony Gordon, but he's probably a fair bit better than Gordon was at 20.

He's got a lot of good technical qualities, needs improve his dribbling and passing (often poorly weights passes of puts them to the wrong side, there was one to Dalot on the overlap where he just left him short), better decision making and composure should come with more time and experience.

Probably shouldn't be a starter every week, but when you consider the alternatives, there's not much choice.

Personally, I don't think it was a penalty either but an argument can be made for it being one if I'm being totally honest. If it was someone like Liverpool you'd imagine they'd be getting it. Or Chelsea from last season when they got two soft penalties in their 4-3 win against us. Or even the West Ham disaster penalty from this season.

He seemed like this was his first game ever where he had to pass. Overcooked the pass for Bruno, unferhit for Dalot.

The fact that he clearly made effort to use his team mates more, makes me wonder what the heck the coaching staff have been telling him in training.
It shouldn't take social media backlash and fan criticism for players to change. That's literally their job as coaches. Amorim and his coaching staff cannot get here quickly enough.

People recording and trying to get a reaction out of the players, or just recording them shouting stuff at the players, will never not be stupid

That's Faz. He takes part of YouTube videos but he's really become a real clown

I can't stand this guy... an absolute embarrassment. Imagine going early just to berate a 19 year old...

I mean he just needs to grow up.

Ooo seems like that stung him a bit. So no one in training says that to him? I don't see anything wrong with what that guy said.

You must know Faz personally because you can’t defend that idiocy as a neutral

Yup. Same with Hojlund. Bags of potential but should be supporting roles to a proper, established striker who plays every minute and bangs in a load of goals. Having an elite attacker like that also distracts defenders, which makes it easier for the younger lads.

The problem we have is that Rashford is supposed to be that players and is absolutely miles off what we need him to be. That’s a far more damaging problem to the team than teething problems from 20 year olds.

His talent is obvious. He'll come good eventually and if he has to make some mistakes along the way then so be it. Thought he was alright last night. Bit of a mixed bag but he's definitely the kind of player you want to see on the ball because he's always direct and looking to make something happen.

Also, guy with the phone standing outside the stadium giving him "advice"... what a buffoon.

I am not. He has bags of talent. What he needs, like most our young players is a good coach.
This is a very fair point.

He is very, very hot and cold though and currently, based on the past ten years, it’s mildly worrying for me.

If Amorim comes in and is the complete opposite of any manager we have had so far, it could be brilliant for him.

If not, I’ll think he’ll jump ship

Exactly its meant to be Rashford and Anthony the main men but that's not turning out to be exactly a good choice!! Still think we need at least one 25/26 year old proper winger and a striker and let Diallo/Garnacho/Holjund develop.

I don't know that guy. Didn't know he has a YouTube channel either. I just thought there was not a lot of wrong with what he said. Let's leave it at that now.

Garnacho was more of a team player tonight than all season. Whatever it is down to, he was a bit better and atleast tried to look for his teammates more even if it didn't come off on occasions.

Picked the right options but the execution was poor. Amad was guilty of similar on the other side.

Graft over craft. Does everything quickly, and lacks the composure to reap the benefits from things that should take a split second more care.

Very poor dribbler and struggles to go past defenders 1v1 as he is a kick and run guy, yet not possessing elite speed. That all notwithstanding - there is still potential there. He is a winger that will need to become one of those 20+ goal wingers to ever qualify as a top player. Otherwise he’ll be all industry and little quality. That said, he has the potential to score a lot of goals. I do a lot of bets on player shots, and Garnacho is always a safe bet. In a shot-shy team, Garnacho consistently seems to have up to 5 shots a game. If he at least became a composed and deadly finisher, he wouldn’t need the polish of Amad to his game, which he will probably never have. He will be a winger who gets on the end of things.

Technically, he’s untidy, but he’s about 6 foot, a very aggressive runner with good speed and an appetite to shoot. In two years time, he will either be deadly or simply not good enough, as his base all round level is average for a top player.

Makes you wonder what feedback he's been getting from the coaches if this is what it takes to get him to change.

I was thinking Son could be a good role model for him. Though I think Son's dribbling technique is a bit more polished.

Think he is in transition from young prospect to a senior player. He's not anymore a kid, is waited on the pitch and has to deliver.

Whether he will transit to a very good footballer, or a part time one, it depends to him, but now he has to adapt to a new status and a lot of expectations.

I think, like Mainoo, he may struggle this year.

Son is probably the most apt example of the player he should be seeking to become. More a wide striker than anything else. He lacks finesse, and if he’s to play in one of those two inside behind the striker roles, I expect a lot of frustration as the game is small there and space limited.

Garnacho started brilliantly for us but his development has stalled, which is not unusual. But he does need to find the next gear soon.

After the last few games I almost forgive Garnacho for never passing, because feck me when he does try to pass he is completely worthless!

Should play ahead of Rashford. Even if he's having a stinker his relentless energy is a positive to the team still unlike Rashford being his usual lethargic self.

If amorim wants to play 343 with our team then I think a front three including garnacho and Bruno is the way to go. Maybe hojlund in the middle. I don't really see a place for rashfords lazy play off the ball.
