But that's what Garnacho is, and it's pretty clear that he's being allowed to.
But Amorim did start out saying he wanted him doing coming infield and doing those #10 things. He's since seemingly written that off as a lost cause, so Garnacho essentially becomes the first stake in the ground for the system when he's on the pitch. He will play left wing in a wingerless system and everything else will just have to adjust for that.

He's coming off the bench to stretch the game every time. That's not Amorim giving up, that's an intentional tactic.

They aren't mutually exclusive at all. Amorim can give up on getting Garnacho to adapt his game and still use what he has to offer in the meantime.

Real Sociedad 1:1 Man Utd New
Managed to pass a teammate finally and got an assist, pumped up his grade to 2/10

Hopefully him passing and getting an assist will click in his head that is something you can do on a pitch as well as shoot. I'd keep him right hand side, he's talented and works hard, he just needs to literally go do shooting drills all week.

It's kind of sad that he remains our best attacker (provided that Amad plays RWB). He's got the brains of Dalot and his finishing is very mediocre, but since he keeps running at defenders there is at least a chance of something happening. He was eventually rewarded with an assist.

Drives me mad, missed two sitters to put the game to bed.

The sulks off shaking his head.

Three opportunities, three shots off target and he sulks when he gets substituted

I can see us getting rid in the summer for a decent bid…

I know he got an assist tonight but deary me, why is this guy so incredibly selfish? It's like he honestly believe he is prime CR7 in ability. Such a frustrating player to watch..

Watched a few replays of his assist to see if he'd actually looked for the pass, but it was another typical head down Garnacho run, with his eyes fixed on the ball, until he squared it without looking.

It worked out nicely, but it could easily have been a turnover. Hopefully we won't have to rely on him next season.

I’d be happy to take the 50m in the summer and replace with a creative winger. Had to move to the right tonight as he always ignores Dorgus overlaps.

Such a frustrating player, I feel like he's regressed this season in a big way. He was hot and cold last season but he had some fantastic games in our fa cup run and a few other really good games. This year you can feel his unhappiness and it's effecting his already poor decision making.

He really didn't look pleased to be subbed off but what did he expect? He strikes me as a player is only happy if he has scored a goal and been the star rather than being a cog in a well oiled machine that wins games.

In a top team you just cannot have that attitude unless you're talent is off the scale ala Mbappe, and he is light years from that level unfortunately.

Every single player in the team should be a moody fecker at this stage tbh.

No problem with him being annoyed, I hope Rasmus and Diago had to be separated in the dressing room as well. They lose every week! let them sulk, complain, argue.

He's gonna go in the summer isn't he, there is no way on this earth we can carry on accepting this behaviour from a lad that hasn't even made it properly yet.

Got the new contract and went backwards. The United way.

Backwards is harsh actually... Hasn't pushed on. Same massive gaps in his game that were there two years ago. Thinks he's Cron but Cron got better season on season and was 10x the player to begin with.

I get he's young but his finishing this season has been so frustrating. Decision making as well. Got an assist tonight at least I guess.

Agreed. Body language experts in full force after lad played well and nabbed an assist. They should all be annoyed to have drawn that game. And once again we looked toothless when he came off. Explain why that is if he’s so terrible?

One good (routine) pass for the goal and pretty terrible overall otherwise. Sell and get that FFP money.

I stand corrected. Just seen the goal again. I was too harsh as it was a very good pick out and hesitation dribble to create the space for the pass. Doesn't changed anything else I said unfortunately.

I was one among those who said back in 2003/2004 to sell CR7 and buy Simao for our left wing.

Just saying!

People who think he's supremely talented need to be sat in front of a screen and just watch some actual top talents to be reminded what it looks like.

You could find players all over Europe that give you what Garnacho gives you on a weekly basis if all you're looking for is some average dribbling and horribly inefficient final third play.

I used to think Garna should be played on right because that makes him pass the ball more to other players.

But based on today where he continued to fire the ball into the side netting from crazy angles, I think it doesnt matter where we play him.

Except Ronaldo's freakish raw ability was obvious to everyone. The bet was just on whether he'd hone it.

That ability isn't present with AG. Not even close. Much of what makes him "highly rated" for now is his half decent G/A stats for his age, but the amount of actual quality 90's the guy has had for us might not be more than 2 or 3 in his entire career.

I'd sell him in the Summer. The sulking, selfishness etc just doesn't bode well, especially considering how poor he's been for a while now.

I've had a lifetimes worth of watching sulking perennial underperformers in Rashers and Martial. No more, please. For the love for feck.

Why the comparison? Even at his most frustrating, Ronaldo always had the sheer talent level to be one of the best in the world (if not the best, before Messi came along anyway). Garnacho isn't even close to that talented. Rashford was more talented, let alone Ronaldo.

It's better he's played on the right, good assist. Should've done much better though, really needs to weed out that uber selfish gene in him.

Yeah I noticed the same. He didn't deliberately pick out Zirkzee.

The lad's attitude though when coming off. Ridiculous level of entitlement about him.

Assist was indeed nice as well as important. But overall performance was a big meh.

Having said that.. Getting this exposure and pressure in a struggling United team is obviously not helping.
If a couple of the older attacking players put in a proper shift and produced at good levels it would of course help him a lot. Now, with most of them being out on loan or injured, and the few available are being as deadly as freshly dried and warm towels, we are looking at him as our only hope in attack, which is not fair on anyone, nevermind a 20 year old. Getting a nice assist in a tricky away game in Spain should be enough to get a decent verdict.
