I don’t know what his long term future is in this formation if Amorim even stays long enough for us to see that, but he should absolutely be in the team for the rest of the season.
Based on having no assists or goals in the league since Amorim arrived

Zero attacking threat before Garnacho, once he came on we looked a different team.
Not the first time that's happened either. He changes games and is the one attacking threat we currently have at the moment.

He is heading the Rashford route. Needs to learn when to release the ball. He creates chaos but then doesn’t capitalise on it because he wants to try and run past everyone and get a shot off. Times today and last game he just needed to knock it on to Dorgu or pass it when there was no way throug for him off the dribble.

It’s like these guys think they will never get the ball back if they pass it, when infact if they do and keep moving they are likely to get in a better position.

We are a different team when he starts
He is our only dangerous attacker at the moment.
Just watched Villa and the amount of wingers/attackers they have in their squad is unbelievable.

We’re an absolute non entity going forward when he’s not playing.

He’s frustrating and far from the finished article, but he’s still our best attacker.

He’s been changing games from the bench but he he hasn’t really been changing games as a starter. I’m not sure that’s the most effective argument for starting him.

Wouldn’t be the first time a direct player is more effective coming on against legs than he is from the start.

Yep. I’ll never understand how players like that can’t figure out that the more often they use the passing option, the harder they are to defend against and the more joy they’ll have when they do decide to go solo.

From a defensive point of view, talented but predictable attackers are just so much easier to defend against than players who keep you guessing.

It’s makes any real analysis difficult when 95% of the team has an absolute dump each matchday.

more likely moving bruno to midfield for me, getting our best player by a country mile on the ball more and able to create from there.

garnachos pace helps but without any control or creativity we still have nothing

Made a difference when he came on tbf. But
still had a moment where he jogged out half assed to that O’Brien and then just let him run past him and put in a cross which is just pathetic given both the clubs and his personal situation.

Man Utd 3:2 Ipswich New
Decent first half and it's a shame he had to come off Mazraoui.

Looked like Garnacho, Dorgu and Yoro were linking up well on the left. Once Dorgu is back from suspension I hope we see further development on that.

Think it's very unfortunate for him that he came off. Somebody obviously had to, but it really should have been Hojlund sacrificed. He is an outlet for us and adds pace to the side.

The difference between him being a good player and a great player will be the ability to get his head up and play others in.

The fact he's still so threatening and drawings fouls is positive.

Yep, same here. Still not sure if it is a deficiency in football IQ or a overconfidence issue though.

Clearly he was substituted as punishment.
Amorim sending him a message he won't tolerate this shit.
Cost us a 3rd goal.
Yeah clearly sending a message by punishing the bad players.. Funny how half of the team and Casemiro manages to get minutes every single game include the goalkeeper..

Still plays as a winger, but shows intent to attack.

Think that is why Amorim took him off, playing with 10 men we can't also have one player hugging the touchline, need to focus more on the middle of the pitch and leave gaps out wide instead of in the middle

Glad his self awareness is getting better, he knows he stunk up the place when he was on

Fundamentally, he’s a winger who plays under a manager who for whatever reason doesn’t seem to want wingers. I don’t see how this ends in a way other than him leaving if Amorim is still here.

Kid is only 21. We just don't have the patience

A winger who’s in the worst 2% for dribbling in the league? He’s never looked like a winger to me. He’s an inside forward who potentially could score a decent number of goals. Just has a lot to learn about decision making. Which will hopefully come with time.

My best outcome for him is a poor man’s Jota so yeah agree.

What's this talk about Garnacho's pace? He's lacking in it, it's why he has to stay wide despite being in a position the manager wants a central player, because without a running start he doesn't have the pace to beat a man.

His lack of pace is one of the main reasons, along with his inability to get his head up, that he never has much time and is so wasteful in terms of shooting or playing a final ball. His shortcomings were perfectly demonstrated just before the sending off when he had the box, had an opportunity to shoot or play in Hojlund, but by the time he'd gotten his head up to see where he was and who was around him the defender had recovered and tackled him.

He's much better coming on as an impact substitute, being fresher than the opposition makes it easier for him to get past them and gives him the extra second to get his head up after a run, but as a starter he'll need to fundamentally overhaul how he plays to be effective.

He walked down the tunnel after getting subbed off, and Amorim isn't happy about it.

He should respect his managers decision as tactical. I personally thought Hojlund should have come off but someone had to come off so why he'd show that level of disrespect is beyond me.

Urgh! we had this and the Instagram BS with EtH last season when he was subbed at half-time then. I like the guy but people can't deny that there are some worrying signs about him.

That’s disgraceful, to be honest. I just imagine if certain other players had done this, how many pages there would be in this thread already.

I see lot of people losing their shit on reddit over this post. Is it supposed to signify something? Was he holding his nose because he farted? Did he go down the tunnel to take a dump?

I said in the match day thread I think Amorim had a go at him when we got that break and Zirkzee and Hojlund both made runs but you could see he just had one thing in his mind. Then didn’t even get a shot away and stayed down pretending he was injured.

Meh, his early hype has gotten to him clearly. Team is having a bad form, one of our worst season ever and he can't even be happy for the team after a hard fought 3 points. Instead he can't wait to post on instagram.

I like him, his mindset is similar to Ronaldo. But he has won feck all to have that kind of ego. Cash in if we can.

Was in the stadium so didn't pick up on that but he should have played that ball, he held it too long and lost possession.
