Offers were in the 50’s but he ultimately didn’t agree terms with NapoliThere wasn’t an offer for anywhere near that
Dim player. Someone needs to tell him that respecting his overlap option, makes the opposition respect it too.
He's just not a natural goal scorer. He's clearly got talent and I'm sure he'll develop into a decent player but he'll never be a top draw player because of this huge weakness.
In an ideal world you'd have him as an impact player right now. But we have no options so he has to start. Same scenario with Hojlund.
I agree fully with this assessment, today it was frustrating to see Dorgu make the overlap (that is a trademark of City's team) and he just would not pass and went looking for the hero shot.I don’t think he’ll ever be great at this club. I hope I’m wrong.
He has a lot of bad habits and I’m not sure he cares enough to address them. A lot came easy to him because of how poor we’ve been recently.
- Starting place
- Good contract
- Iconic chant + fan adulation
The result
- Poor defensive application
- Lazy touches and passes
- Selfish play/Hero ball
Him, lissandro, Dalot. Sellable assets I think we can live without.
Yeah I just don’t think he’s as talented as people think. He’s not even very good right now, he’s a bang average mid table type winger. So unless he fully transforms his instincts/decision making on the ball or really becomes a lethal finisher (don’t see it), I think the rate of improvement he might have is relatively marginal compared to what many seem to expectI think he will improve over the years.
But I'm worried because he can't beat a player easily cutting to his right. All the best forwards can get space or a shot at will cutting on their strong foot. Garnacho uses straight line bursts to get space. He needs more.
I'm not sure this comes with age.
ETH used him wisely in his first season. Had him on the bench and gave him starts when we needed him. Whenever he came off the bench he was a threat. Now that Antony, Sancho and Rashford have all struggled in the past 12 months, we are relying on Garnacho to be the main man. He is not ready for that and we have been over playing him. He’s not a Rooney or Ronaldo level talent that he should be playing every game, so stop treating him like one. But sadly, we have no choice due to our poor decisions in the transfer market.
Fergie always had experienced pros in the attacking positions unless they were a special talent like Giggs, Rooney or Ronaldo, but even they were surrounded by good attackers.
I don’t think the finishing is the major issue. It’s that he consistently makes terrible decisions and displays a lack of football intelligence (movement aside). He’s not a team player, much like Rashford he just plays his own game and that’s not conducive to being part of a high quality team. He’s also a terrible passer so has one main trick to cut inside and shoot.I remember watching Aguero at 19/20 for Atletico and seeing him being put clean through on goal and trying to chip the goalkeeper putting it straight into the keeper's arms
Dont be expecting a 20 year old to score all his great chances. We shouldnt need him to in order to get a point in matches.
Dont think the anger with Garnacho is about the big chance he missed. Its about his general play. Particularly his failure to use his overlapping fullback, who was in great positions several times during the match, only to end up giving the ball away.
He does it all the time, he’s not an intelligent footballer. He will never find consistency or true quality due to how poor his decision making is.Some poor decision making today but compared to our other attackers at least he still gets into positions to make poor decisions!
Guy misses a shot and this place predictably tears him to shreds. Can definitely tell most people on here have never played competitive sports.

Desperately needs his confidence back but hes still our most talented attacker. We just need to explain to him that the people in red shirts are on his team and he is allowed to pass to them.
More talented than Amad? I doubt it.
Garnacho is good and is a great prospect, but he's proven that he isn't good enough to be a first teamer at United, for the time being. That's on the club, not him, per se.
I do wonder what his stand-out attributes are?
He is nowhere near Amad talent, he has scored 43% of our goals alone and ties up 2 or 3 opposition players whenever he plays due to the fear factor he brings.
