Copa America 2024 - Argentina Win

Every time I see Alexis Sanchez, I get salty about the high wages he took from United for doing nothing.

Canada makes it to the knockout round.....ffs letting Jesse go to Canada and rehiring that knobhead Berhalter

ffs....i've been drinking since the start of the argentina match preparing myself for the MMA main card

christ....don't get me started on the bs sneakers and how people are enamored by that and his dress code

Glad I didn't buy tickets for the QF at Jerryworld. Now that Argentina and probably Mexico won't be involved, resale prices will surely come down.

Argentina already in the final.
Canada needed to play both games vs 10 men to go through.

Terrible refereeing. Bombito should have been sent off for elbowing Echeverria's face. And Suazo's second yellow wasn't even a foul.

We weren't winning Copa America or even getting close to that so it isn't really serious. Thing is, if this kind of officiating continues in the qualifiers, it would be impossible to have a fair shot.

Referring is a continued huge topic when it comes to Commebol...it's typically a bit bias, it's typically very inconsistent and the fecking refs typically can't control games other than by throwing out cards

Canada largely kept their discipline while the other teams lost their heads to some extent. This is why Canada succeeded in their group. It's not fortunate. It's playing on the edge and not crossing over into indiscipline.

A canadian player elbowed a chilean player in the face in the first 5 minutes of tonight's game. He should have been sent off due to indiscipline.

I got Uruguay to win the tournament at +500 before it started. Liking the way that looks right now.

Bielsa is a specialist in failure though. Never won anything of note which is quite remarkable considering he's been managing since 1982.

I still remember how confident I was as Atletico fan before the 2012 Europa League final. I was confident there is no way that we'd lose a final to a Bielsa team. And we didn't.

I think you might have missed that "largely." I chose that adverb very carefully. And I stand by my post. For the most part, Canada didn't get drawn into the so-called dark arts. I mean, even Peru's coach was threatening to use their fists before a ball had even been kicked. No idea why all the hostility toward a nation that has not traditionally been in the mix. Perhaps they thought they could intimidate us? If so, big mistake; we regularly withstand temperatures of -40º and our national religion is hockey.

And I agree with you on one thing; it was a potential red card, but in the bigger picture it makes up for the headbutt on Johnston in the Peru game. I know two wrongs don't necessarily make a right, but it does even it up tournament-wise.

Colombia seeing pretty strong, I have faith we can reach the final. We have to deal with Brasil (maybe twice) but we have already beaten them, and Uruguay, on the way, but believe we can do it.
A final against Argentina will be awesome.

James really becomes prime Zidane when on a Colombia shirt

Colombia is definitely my favorite to reach the final from this side of the bracket. We (Brazil) are very poorly coached and Bielsa as usual won't take a pragmatic approach with Uruguay when it's eventually needed.

So Ecuador just needs a draw so I’m expecting the time wasting shithousery to start soon. If Ecuador play it normal then respect to them.

Can you still finish 2nd and why does that even matter, you'd play Venezuela

It always matter to try to be at your best and win, if this old fart knows sthg it's that this type of Cups/KO tournaments can go south out of nothing against anyone, so to keep it pro, to keep the whole squad in form, to win and have an idea behind it's really important to at some point win stuff.

Bielsa it's far from a winner, it's not my cup of tea either, but winning 3 argie leagues it's quite hard and great.
The thing it's that he was at the verge of winning a couple of tournaments and he has a tendency to burn out his teams. But this is a very short tourno, Uruguay loves Copa, so it's a very good combination. The rythim that Bielsa imposes with his teams in short periods can be devastating and Uruguayans know HOW TO PLAY even with kids from the park.

Ok every player is falling down now for Ecuador

Colombia is playing great and very solid since quite sometime, in fact it's rare that very little it's spoken about Lorenzo and his work with the team, if he was Pekerman, Bielsa, or anyone like that the noise would be quite bigger.
You lot and Uruguay are firing in all clinders on everyt sense, they are very dinamic teams and very generous in their pressing too.

Enner can't be more sellfish and dumb

He only has coached a team before, but he was Pekerman’s assistant during his time as Colombia manager, so he had a good master and knows about Colombian players.
