Copa America 2024 - Argentina Win

Argentina’s midfield play is really admirable. That was a good watch

We have to really start putting the ball in the fecking net, too many chances every game (even in the WC and prior Copas too), we suffer in a a very unecessary way because of that lack of finishing or just be more accurate in the final pass or strike.

I love Cuti and Licha together, I can't get how in this very forum people do not see Cuit as a very old time Man Utd character in Cuti, with the required set of skills for modern football. I thought that Scaloni wasn't going to sit Ota, but he did, kudos for him

I hope Leo recovers, he was clearly limping and "too casual", anyway he always does his 3 or 4 Leo things that WE MUST take advantage, what a goal would have been the one to the post.

Nico G finally had a good game, still a bit too much rushing plays, but a very generous and daring game.

I'll like to see Exe in the team insted of Enzo with Macca more upfront or shifting roles with Palacios. I feel more comfortable with Taglia than Acuña too. And finally I felt since day one this team lacks some of our trademarks: dribbling, we really need some of that in the near future, lots of great polivalent mids, very skilled, intelligent and tough CBs, but once Lio and Angel are gone, we need to find young dribblers (of course I don't expect a again a genius and a phenom, but at least great ones, elite ones).

All those good shots and a shite goal goes in

indeed, it should have been sthg like 3 to 1 and the ugliest play got the goal

PD: great interventions by Bravo and Dibu, great goalkeeping by both

I had it down as 3-1 in my penca.

Disappointed, a draw would have worked better for me seeing as 100% went for a win and loads hit GD at least. Feckin' Bravo at the end

Great fecking keeper but at the same time, specially in the first half, we didn't properly take advantage of all the time we had the ball...in the final third and last strike or pass we lacked composure apart from two or three great plays (leaving aside those two not that elaborated extremely poor finishes from Julian soft touch and Nico G header).

Karius against Madrid was sthg else

Indeed, shite goals are the dog's bollocks

This reminds me of Rulli, we can make a compilation from him where he has 5 minutes of insane saves, with another 5 minutes with the most stupid goals ever received. He is certainly a keeper on the wrong side of entertaining

It’s kinda crazy how someone so good and with such a winner mentality is playing for Tottenham.

He has some extra 70's agressive edge, but not as bad as the Press in England tries to impose. He is a generational defender with such a winner mentality on every, aspect in the pitch, he is such a beast that makes Licha look calmer and less agressive. I love both together, I just hope they have lots of years without injuries.

Cuti and Licha is absolutely insane. It’s a pleasure watching them play and the confidence they bring

Just wanted to quickly say how impressive Licha was yesterday. Completely controlled the game. Lots of comments on Romero but he almost made a fatal mistake before Arg went ahead by gifting a dangerous counter. Licha’s ability to break the press was astounding at times. No wonder Pep said what he said after the FA cup final.

Definitely think Arg have the best CB pair in and out of possession of all the teams I’ve seen so far at Euros and Copa America.

I fully agree.

In my opinion, Romero-Lisandro is the second best centerback duo on the international stage, only behind VanDijk-Ake, and just marginally ahead of Saliba-Upamecano.

I think i'd put them third only because they can both go mental and get a red card in any game

Argentina was really impressive to watch, some of the quick, intricate passes in midfield were a joy to watch.

Also, very impressed by Nico Gonzalez, I hope we have him our radar to provide competition to Luke Shaw.

Actually, I wouldn't mind Romero either, despite his occasional recklessness in tackle. Him and Lisandro are a great duo.

He's a forward?

Nico is quite great for Fiore, for the NT? he started brilliant his first two matches and then he played pretty much very bad but with lots of generosity regarding pressing and marking, once he went out, Chile finally could hurt us on the flank cretaing that couple of chances.
He doesn't play with confidence with the NT and he was really tiring everybody till yesterday that he had a good game, not spectacular in offense because he still rushes his plays too much, but overall a very comprehensive game being everywhere.

PD: BTW he is a forward, not a fullback.

He's garbage and has been for years. Can't get the X tweet to post like olden days.

What’s the deal with Alexi Lalas?
If you’re a contrarian about everything, then nothing is real. Nothing matters.

--- At Fox, Lalas is the star of the show. All day. Every day. The other analysts are expected to take a back seat to him and play off of his brand of often bizarre commentary. It’s one thing for Lalas to have a Taylor Twellman or Michael Ballack to banter with. It’s another for him to be a Stephen A. Smith-type centerpiece where Fox thinks viewers are hanging off his every word at every moment.

And when Lalas is joined on set by stars of the game who have competed at the highest level for both club and country, such as Giorgio Chiellini or Daniel Sturridge, and they seemingly take a backseat to him, it’s hard to comprehend. The dynamic makes fans wonder “Which one doesn’t belong and why?” and it’s pretty easy to figure out. ---

Need Copa America to do some heavy lifting over the next few days while the Euro's are having a break.

Just change x to Twitter in the url

oh, and feck Lalas. Can’t stand his “it was better in my day” mentality.

Fantastic tournament for Venezuela so far, looks like they'll top their group and face either Canada or Chile. Or Perú if they pull a Georgia.

Tomorrow's bet will be how many goals Will Uruguay score past this Bolivia.

Very entertaining match, quite crazy
