After that performance he should forgive the club and relinquish any owed wages for the rest of that cursed contract

This bloke should have bruises on his knees for having to go down on his knees 14 times a day saying a prayer of thankfulness over being as washed as he is, yet still getting minutes and still being amongst the best paid in the league.

Yet he looks like he vehemently hates this club. I swear his miss in the first half was so horrible I almost got a sense of him purposefully shanking it.

He’s so casual in everything he does it gives the impression he doesn’t care.

He’s 32 and can’t run. He played with Kroos and Modric for the majority of his career and all he had to do was clean up after them. At United, he’s trying to do more. I never saw him attack this much for Madrid. At one stage in the second half, he was doing an outside of the foot cross into the box.

Really a shame watching a player like him look like that... I mean, United makes every player look at least a level below but todays performance specifically was in the stars when I saw fans talking about "he is actually quite good with his passing"... There is a reason why on the highest level he had a rather limited role, not because he was shit at passing but because he was great against the ball and he helped maximize the output from players who were amazing on the ball. We should have continued like that, not encourage him to redevelop himself in a different league, older age and lesser team mates. I was always a Casemiro fan, from his Real days onwards, I am actually a bit angry at United that his legacy will take quite a dent with his stint here. And for nothing...

Such a shame. Lets hope, he'll leave in the summer. I'd be fine with January as well but that applies to 96% of the squad.

I mean does he really though. He’s achieved everything in the game in his previous life. There’s only personal pride now and I think £300K per week washes that away.he’s on the ca k career wise and we’re paying fortunes to fund it

He did attack similarly during the 2020-2021 season at Madrid.

Pretty sure he was their 2nd highest goal-scorer or thereabouts that season behind Benzema. But that was 4 years ago.

He's finished physically and he's trying to overcompensate by doing things on the ball that he's just not capable of.

We should have moved him on after his 1st season if it was possible at all.

It's too grueling for him here, he had a brilliant six months, on a crest of a wave, had us very close to city and Arsenal, he came hoping to help fix us but I saw the realization in his face when we fell off how far we are and how tough physically it is. He could've had a nice wind down of his career elsewhere but has burned through his energy.

Ronaldo was same, bright start and looked like he was wading through 2 feet of water by December and couldn't find the spark in the next season, just permanent slow motion.

I even recall Ronnie saying how tough it was playing for United in around 2008 before he left.

He’s still a good footballer in the right system, ETH and now Amorim have both hung him out to dry. (Spent 99% of his professional career in a double pivot breaking up play and deferring to a more technically sound colleague)

If he is sold in January, his legacy as a top DM is intact, imo.

Newcastle have the most mobile and physical midfield in the league.

Sorry but it was utter stupidity playing Casemiro & Eriksen as a two. They were set up to fail.

Casemiro wasn’t great, and neither was Eriksen. But tonight was predictable.

The game, at the top level, has passed him by. He’s a liability, and his wage is an absolute albatross. Amorim knows this. He only played him due to a lack of options. We desperately need to try to move him on. It’s hard to see anyone taking him, though. Even the Saudis seem wise enough to steer clear of him.

Playing against Newcastle with Eriksen alongside must be about as bad a scenario he could find yourself in tbh.

Shame the suspensions weren’t for a EL game where you could maybe get away with it.

Just for the laughs I’d say same again lads and send the pair out against Liverpool.

He barely ever played in a double pivot.

Not sure he is. He is slower than before, slower to react. At some point, the efforts needed to provide the environment for someone to flourish aren't worth the investment anymore. Also I never considered him an Kroos a double pivot. Always considered him as a lone DM keeping Kroos and Modric free from too much of the dirty work. But apart from that, fully agree. I understand the players wish to try something new, be more expressive himself but United shouldn't have been the place for it. Should have sticked to what he was good at. ETHs system didn't suit him from 2nd season onwards though, theres no denying there.

I remember Roy Keane having a go at Darren Fletcher for an underhit pass the latter made to him, an error that Keane rectified by going faster and getting to the ball before the opponent did. Keane was shouting "you call that a pass?" repeatedly while gesticulating at Fletcher with the veins in his head bulging. Would've been all over social media if it'd happen today.

Anyway my point is, back then the senior players were setting the standards. These days, Casemiro is blaming a kid for a perfectly good pass just because Casemiro missed a sitter.

His legs have gone and he is a complete waste of space in this league, he has been a disaster of a transfer and produced some of the worst performances we’ve seen from a Utd player in the Premier League. Last night he was a complete embarrassment.

We've endured some poor individual performances the last few years - but Christ Casemiro v Newcastle is up there.

32yrs old. 5 time champions league winner. One of the most decorated DM's in the world. What has happened to him?

He was off the pace last season but wow this season he is just a shell.

No confidence, no presence. Just a passenger. Just not worth playing him anymore - he's done at this level, turned himself into a liability.

Utterly shocking display - one as fan's we should not forgive

He is only 32! Dear God, at that age some players are in their prime. What the hell happened to him....
Some players just age quicker than others. I'll hold my hands up and admit I didn't see him falling off this much by 32.

That was one of the worst performances from a United midfielder in recent memory. He looked drunk out there.

He is the same age as Salah, currently best player in the league, and one year younger than Van Dijk, probably the best defender in the league. His physical drop-off is of seismic proportions. We need to aim to sign players 22-25 age bracket. You cant build a team with a player that can have these drop-offs any day, which is a good possibility when you are buying 30+ players.

So true. But it doesn’t negate the fact that Casemiro almost adds nothing to the team. It is weird that a player with his experience has become a liability

He’s clearly too immobile but that doesn’t excuse his shite passing. He’s capable of the odd worldie but it’s in between inept short passing like he’s had a stroke.

At this point, I’d rather play Collyer - at least he can run.

He had a really good first season but I think with both Ole and EtH you can see how certain players just play better when there’s a very compact shape and we’re not really dominating.

As somebody else said above, the thing I can’t get over is how blasé he is with what he’s doing. No way on earth he ever did this at Real, but the way he just massively over hits shots, crosses and passes is crazy. That chance the other day was one he had to absolutely make sure of, and look at what he did. He had loads of time and he completely fluffed it. I’m also pretty much at the stage now where I think he’s doing it on purpose, or best case scenario it’s going out there and not giving a single toss about anything.

It feels like he blames us for ruining his reputation so now he’s purposefully trying to sabotage what we’re doing. Sounds crazy, I know, but some of the things are so bad compared to what he’s capable of.

But he is immensely passionate, perhaps one of our most passionate players, especially from the bench. There's 0 chance he's throwing away chances and games imo

I just can’t understand then why he is doing what he is. When you absolutely need a goal and you are given a perfect opportunity with plenty of time and space, you don’t try such an obscure shot when the ball is behind you. Touch it into your path and finish it. His crosses as well though, they’re not just missing players but going into row Z. He’s not an unintelligent player, so how can you make such bad mistakes? And then just look like it doesn’t matter afterwards.

He knows he can't win anything with this current United team, so in his mind, he will never train, recover or put an effort as he would've done if still at Real Madrid. I'm not saying he is blatantly unprofessional, only that he does not put 100% behind the scenes, and has the foot off the gas.

Amorim directly said that he wasn't happy that him and Rashford were in a different time zone, that messes up with their internal bio rhythms and affects recovery when 6 hours from your normal time zone.

At the end, everything that he does off the pitch, shows on the pitch. He looks like he is 42.
