It tends to be standard practice when you want rid of a player who may otherwise be reluctant to leave. Make it clear they won’t get any minutes which forces the move because they want to play.

It really is a joke that we have the two highest wage earners as bench warmers or not even selected in the squad.
We need guys at the club that have skill and are prepared to run through walls for the club.

I'd poor would be harsh, he hasn't lit it up like he has done for us but he's getting up to speed. And I don't agree that he isn't suited to the role.

Ruben has one midfielder in the Ugarte mould while the other is a progressor, either by passing or dribbling. Kobbie is very well suited to do so by his dribbling and I'm sure his passing will improve too. Ideally we have someone senior rotate with him since the team demands a lot from that position, that could be Bruno if we manage to get good reinforcements for the front 3 positions.

He actually tries too hard when he actually gets to play. We expose him too much and he’s not able to cope with it.

Truly a shame because his level of play during his first season with us is exactly what we need right now.

Helped by not playing much unfortunately. He isn't mobile enough I guess which iirc is something really wants from his midfielders. He also isn't the way forward and I don't think, playing him would have changed a whole lot.

Going with two stable DMs makes sense but as we have seen, we really try to go for it, when the chance is there. We aren't going to be able to do that with him in the side. I'd rather see Amorim play what he considers the best fits for the way we want to play.

But at least he has time on his side and he is probably the only one of our midfielders who could be classified as a modern midfielder in the sense of being able to handle tight spaces and turning opponents. But no question that what we are seeing is ideal. Bit of a dead end but thats what you end up with crap recruiting.

I think the only reason you’d sell in January is to get a good transfer fee. Neither Casemiro nor Eriksen will provide that - both will turn 33 in a few weeks. It’s Rashford or no one, and to be honest I doubt even he will go, except perhaps on loan.

So I’d give him more minutes than he has been getting. He will have to start against Newcastle due to suspensions, but even if everyone was available I’d still be calling for his inclusion.
