So much for his Saudi move. It was the exact same in the summer, all this talk of Saudi clubs lining up to sign him and when the window actually opens nothing materialises.
Absolutely - plenty of blame to go around.when incompetence meets incompetence...
Not if we were selling himLet this be a lesson to all;
If we are going to spend big money on a player from a big team then let us make sure it is one of the main creative players that make that team so good and not just a functional cog in that team!
Phil Neal would cost a fortune in today's market going by his resume
He would not have the resume playing for usNot if we were selling him
Ridiculous isn't it. As unpopular as Ratcliffe is, atleast under his ownership we appear to be proactive in trying to address the poor financial position/losses we've faced. Dread to think where we'd be if Woodward was still at the clubYou have to wonder what the plan was from the Glazers, Woodward, Murtough, Arnold etc. What exactly where they going to do once PSR came down on them for losing £300m a year? Was this why they wanted the Super League so badly? To cover their mistakes?
It's the most concerning part of the window so far. There seemed to be some links of substance at the start of the window but they've now completely dried up. Collyer has usurped him in the pecking order so there's very little point in us keeping him.So much for his Saudi move. No gametime since Newcastle I think?
It’s strange to say the least I wonder is there more to it , he surely could have been brought on for 15 mins last night instead of trying Ugarte on.
If he doesn’t feature v Bucharest then he’s another player done at the club
Seems like we are able to give all our CB a rest even without using Mazraoui there much of late. And we even have Shaw coming back soon, and he might be able to play a couple of games before he gets injured again. So, unless a couple of our regular ones get injured, I think there is no hope for Casemiro to play at the back.Could he play in a back three? Could give some of the Cbs a rest

We wanted him out in the summer but from what I read his agent demanded a 25m payout for him to move.January is not the best time for players to move.
Whilst it is clear his time is up, and he will know this as well. There’s sense from the players’ perspective to wait until the summer.
Better to forgo a few months in the wilderness and get a good move in the summer than accept going to a club that’s really not suitable now.
That's a ridiculous interpretation of the situation, but anything to have a dig at Ten Hag, eh.It's largely on Ten Hag for pursuing Frenkie all summer who didn't want to come here, leading the board to make a panic buy when they realized they had no chance.
If you build for the future, I’m not sure why you’d play Casemiro in the first place.Casemiro’s stats paint a picture that definitely doesn’t represent what we’ve seen this season. He is very slow and has lost possession a huge amount. Zero vision and looks lost. I’m not sure where or how he gets back into the team ahead of the CMs currently playing. Given his illustrious career, I’m surprised to see him happy to stick around for a relegation fight but clearly his ridiculous salary plays a key role. When he goes at end of contract, it will be along with other high earners and it will feel like we are free a bit.

It did. He didn't start the FA cup final and there was talk of a fallout with ETH. It was becoming evidently clear that he is not suited to the pace of the Premier League. He could only work if we decided to play low block.Potentially. Although at that time he was playing, and his future looked nowhere near as bleak as it does now. Not defending Casimero - just understanding the situation.
Don’t remember seeing photos of ETH pictured in Barcelona. It's largely on Ten Hag for pursuing Frenkie all summer who didn't want to come here, leading the board to make a panic buy when they realized they had no chance.
Because not everything is for long-term goal. There's also a short-term goal, which is getting the best out of this season. Zirkzee, Hojlund, and Maguire are not for the future, and we still play them.If you build for the future, I’m not sure why you’d play Casemiro in the first place.
Since when are 23 and 24 year old attackers not for the future? They’re staying and arguably Maguire as well on a new deal.Because not everything is for long-term goal. He's here anyway, and can contribute.
I have zero faith in him or Rashford sacrificing their golden paycheck to actually play somewhere that makes them do real work.On the bench again today, would be surprised if footballing wise he didn't see it would make sense to move, hopefully we get some sort of offer before the window closes.
They will probably stay just to spite us (and earn their undeserved salary)I have zero faith in him or Rashford sacrificing their golden paycheck to actually play somewhere that makes them do real work.
The season is over. Playing him actively takes away game time from a player here for medium to the long term. One that needs to develop for a better next season. Plus he needs to be sold, playing him would make him feel too wanted here.Because not everything is for long-term goal. There's also a short-term goal, which is getting the best out of this season.
