Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

He doesn't want a deal, never did.
His American interests require misalignment from the EU.
People should get it in their minds that there a people who see it in their best interests, to divide the UK from the EU.

Which is fair enough, however the UK has been negotiated with itself for most of the two years. It can't expect the EU to just bend over backwards and accept the first fudge deal created by this divided Tory party. Brexit is a Tory mess not the EU one.

He doesn't have one, he's just thick and bigoted. Much like someone else in this thread.

it seems that they are doing what they know to do best ie blame the EU for their incompetence. Brexit is a UK mess not the EU's. From a typical European perspective we're being dragged into a potential recession for something we didn't vote for. The least they could do was to come to the Brexit talks prepared. Instead they had spent most of the 2 years bickering with one another. Surely they can't expect the EU to accept the first fudge deal offered by this divided Tory party unquestionably?

There's no disagreement here believe me. I'm just telling you why some cabinet ministers are actively trying to sabotage the government's negotiating position.

Is there even a negotiation position at all? Even now there's people in the government's position who are pushing TM to remove certain aspects of what has been already offered. Thus the EU is being reduced to negotiate with people who are constantly changing on a heavily UK stacked deal that might change at any moment all at the eleventh hour. The UK can't even bother coming with a deal that respects EU law, the same EU laws they had helped to shape.

Whitehall sources said they believed there was only a very small chance of the government failing to secure a deal, but that preparations were being stepped up in what they described as the unlikely event of that taking place.

They suggested that the international trade secretary's remarks on Sunday were part of a deliberate strategy to talk up the prospect of a no-deal Brexit in order to put EU leaders under pressure to take the prime minister’s Chequers plan seriously.

Please tell Whitehall that the Chequers plan was dead before it was printed. Surely they're not still clinging to this, well they've got no other plan , have they?

There is a very small chance the govt failing to secure a deal as there's a very small chance the govt won't agree to everything the EU demands. The fun starts when they try and get that through Parliament. Wonder if the recent talking up of the chances of no deal isn't a ploy to try and make the inevitability of a capitulation on every issue seem like some kind of victory.

Brexit just seems lncredibly similar to Trump in so many ways.
Incredibly frustrating.

Still not heard one fecking good reason to leave.
Still not heard any fecking solution to the problems leaving will cause.
Still don't fecking know if we're half leaving, quarter leaving or galloping away to smell Donald Trumps fecking arse.

And what is it with some of the most blatantly obvious cnuts somehow become cult heroes to the Brexit bellends?
Farage?, JRM?
Tommy Robinson?
When every Far right cnut, Trump and Putin want Brexit you know it's a bad fecking idea.

Apologies, 2minutes on Twitter and seeing Robinson paraded as a fecking hero.

The haiku from hell.

Damn WTO tariff on me discount mince pies
That bendy banana is stuck up my arse
Trump will kill us with his AI zombie cars

Article 8 states as followed

1. The Union shall develop a special relationship with neighbouring countries, aiming to establish an area of prosperity and good neighbourliness, founded on the values of the Union and characterised by close and peaceful relations based on cooperation.

2. For the purposes of paragraph 1, the Union may conclude specific agreements with the countries concerned. These agreements may contain reciprocal rights and obligations as well as the possibility of undertaking activities jointly. Their implementation shall be the subject of periodic consultation.

I think that anything from offering an EEA membership (Norway model) to offering a basic custom union agreement (Turkey) right to some basic trade deal (like the one the EU has with Morocco) would satisfy article 8. Also there's no mentioning about time frames. So the EU is free to allow hard Brexit, let the UK's economy go into flames and then negotiate when the UK is in a weakened/desperate state.

£ and € parity before the the end of the year looking quite possible if the sell off doesn't stop. My office has been buying Euro contracts by the bucket loads for a while now. Guess it's the same all over the place.
Reports some BDCs are already offering parity rates.

You wrong in US the suppliers pay at the customs.

No they don't, it is the people buying the goods who have to clear the goods through customs which means paying the duty (tariff) and the other taxes ( eg VAT in Europe) where applicable.

The people who buy the goods then have the choice to pass these tariffs onto their customers, if they don't then they lose money.

I've shipped to the USA for over 30 years.

The supplier pays nothing.
Tariffs are used to try to stop people buying goods from overseas and buying local goods instead , ie by making the overseas produced goods more expensive which is what Trump is trying to do.
But if the people continue to buy the goods the plan doesn't work, all it means is the people (consumers) buying the goods will pay more. Yes the US government will receive more in taxes but it is from the buyers/consumers in the USA who will be paying them.

I actually welcome the bleak economic news, not because I want people to lose their jobs or incomes squeezed but I think this is the time when consequences of the decisions we're taking need to be felt before it's too late to do anything about them. Rather a short, sharp shock now to influence the direction we take over the next few months vs a slow and gradual decline once it's too late to do anything about it.

It's not "talking my country down", it's wanting to see the country learn a lesson and wake the feck up. The sooner the reality becomes undeniable the better.

Also because you're presumably well-off enough that'll have minimal effect on you. There's no guarantee people will blame an economic downturn on Brexit - every chance blame will get deflected to the EU or whoever else. Plenty have it set in their mind that Brexit cannot go badly and that if it does then it's the fault of those who tried to stop it, not those trying to implement it.
