Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

  • Total voters
    194
  • Poll closed .

Even more tragic that people beloved that when you realise that the opposite happened in the UK. When was the NHS ever has bad as it is right now?

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that this was the plan all along. Leave the EU and deregulate. Then break the NHS and force an insurance based model onto the population making it seem like there’s no alternative. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer (physically and mentally).

That was exactly the plan. No conspiracy theory required. Why else do it?

Starmer also confirmed that he was deliberately adopting the “take back control” Brexit slogan because the desire for more local control was one aspect of the leave campaign in 2016, and of the yes campaign for Scottish independence in 2014, that he felt was justified. He explained:

I go back to Brexit. Yes, a whole host of issues were on that ballot paper. But as I went around the country, campaigning for remain, I couldn’t disagree with the basic case so many leave voters made to me.
People who wanted public services they could rely on. High streets they could be proud of. Opportunities for the next generation. And all of this in their town or city.
It was the same in the Scottish referendum in 2014 – many of those who voted ‘yes’ did so for similar reasons. And it’s not an unreasonable demand.
It’s not unreasonable for us to recognise the desire for communities to stand on their own feet. It’s what take back control meant. The control people want is control over their lives and their community.

Clueless tosser. Just as well he was campaigning for Remain. Abandon all hope.

They saw us and said no to the clusterfeck.
That was one of the expected Benefits of the Brexit for the EU. Another one is that the financial regulations are now being decided in Paris and not London anymore.
But, in sum it is still terrible for the EU that one of the main architects of the EU has left the club.

Yes, it’s not sustainable in the long term and yet any “special status” like in the past is out of discussion (for good, in normal circumstances) whenever the discussion to re-join the single market will start in some form.

Wouldn't the solution be to rejoin the EU?

It would but it's not going to happen for decades.
Neither the Tories or Labour want freedom of movement.
As predicted before the referendum it's an inevitable decline of British industry and the economy. Now it's too late for the near future.

Until both parties recognise that Brexit is a huge mistake then it will only get worse. Eventually they may start to move back towards the EU but it will take a long time.

I am curious, what is the current opinion of the majority of people in Britain? Are they still against "freedom of movement"? And if yes, why?

And are they only against the freedom of movement of EU citizens, or about everyone (Africans, Asians, South Americans etc).

I don't know. Immigration into the UK is extremely high at present but not from the EU.

They seem to think what the tabloid press tell them to think. Current focus is on asylum seekers in boats.

Part of the problem is that a lot of people won''t distinguish between legal and illegal immigration

Yes, I said that in some of my earlier posts. Legal immigrants, illegal immigrants and asylum seekers/refugees are all put into one pot. Furthermore, over recent years, the focus has been on legal immigrants from the EU, the Windrush generation, the refugees and asylum seekers. Oddly no focus on the real illegal immigrants who overstay their tourist visas and live clandestinely working on the black.

The pubs and bars in London would have to close down, the biggest group of people who overstay their visas in the UK are from Australia and New Zealand - in the US it's Canadians, all that fuss about the US southern border, it's the northern one that's the problem!

Maybe young talented people want to go to a country where there are more options, more diversity and which hasn’t triggered a “brexit” sending their own country to the dogs
Probably it's more likely they can actually afford to live in those places

Coming from the guy who made sure his family received German passports the day after the referendum result was announced.

Also, the last thing we need to worry about is speculative traders who make bank from disaster capitalism moving to fancy apartments in Milan. Much more pressing concerns to be addressed thanks to the likes of him.
