It's going to get better this year. IMF forecasting GDP 0.6. Progress.
Strongly agree (37%)
Mildly agree (17%)
Neither (18%)
Mildly disagree (9%)
Strongly disagree (19%)
Agree = 54%
Neutral = 18%
Disagree = 28%
So while Agree is ahead, it's still not by a big margin which to me is astounding. I'd be interested to know how they come to these results.
I'm totally guessing but I suspect that many people still believe in the fabled positives of Brexit and think that it's either a matter of time or will until those benefits come into effect.
Is there a single positive so far from Brexit? It has to be the most stupid act of Democratic self-harm a developed country has made in recent years. Absolutely insane it was allowed to happen. If ever there is a case for utterly disregarding a referendum, it's this.
Water company execs can now get bigger bonuses due to cost savings from sewage treatment as we can now pump that into our beaches instead.Is there a single positive so far from Brexit? It will be a case study for university students around the world for decades to come. A perfect combination of propaganda, misinformation, social media, corruption, hubris, hatred and xenophobia combined.Is there a single positive so far from Brexit? I wonder if they believe the shite that comes out of their mouths? How can you possibly sleep at night knowing you’re lying to an entire country?And yet Sunak is still spouting these barefaced lies...
"In the three years since leaving the EU, we’ve made huge strides in harnessing the freedoms unlocked by Brexit to tackle generational challenges. Whether leading Europe’s fastest vaccine rollout, striking trade deals with over 70 countries or taking back control of our borders, we’ve forged a path as an independent nation with confidence.
And in my first 100 days as prime minister, that momentum hasn’t slowed – we’re cutting red tape for businesses, levelling up through our freeports, and designing our own, fairer farming system to protect the British countryside.
This is just the beginning of our plans to deliver on our five priorities, including growing the economy so we can create better paid jobs, and I’m determined to ensure the benefits of Brexit continue to empower communities and businesses right across the country."

Heres another benefit for you mateSimilarly, Britta filter sales will be up as I sure as feck won't be drinking direct from the tap without the EU giving me a modicum of hope it's still safe. I'm sure similar non-fecking-eejits who have some brain cells to rub together will be thinking the same.
Surely it's a matter of time until the negative impacts of Brexit are so pronounced it can't be ignored. At which point, could criminal proceedings ever be brought against those who purposely misled the public?

Pretty sure that's from 2019.

What a load of claptrap. Is that the best they can come up with seriously?This is what Rishi Sunak said about the anniversary in a statement released overnight.
You have to be a gibbering idiot to believe this crap.
Its funny how they left out Ireland whos forecast is outstripping everyones
It's the G7 countriesIts funny how they left out Ireland whos forecast is outstripping everyones
It's the G7 countries
When it comes to this they generally focus on G8 members. Otherwise the graph would be very different, many smaller economies have higher growth.
There's no G8 anymore, they kicked Russia out so down to 7When it comes to this they generally focus on G8 members. Otherwise the graph would be very different, many smaller economies have higher growth.
Russia's economic performance out performs us even though they are under sanctions.There's no G8 anymore, they kicked Russia out so down to 7
Didn't the EU effectively sanction you as well!Russia's economic performance out performs us even though they are under sanctions.
They chucked a load of bureaucracy in the way. Which is a laugh given that that was one of the things Brexit would be doing away with.Didn't the EU effectively sanction you as well!

The negative impacts of Brexit were clear and obvious 7 years ago. All this time later they still believe the nonsense. They will never admit they were wrong no matter what happens.
They'll try don't worry!7 years ago was based on forecasts and predictions which were batted away by the right as “doom mongering”. They can’t do the same so easily with actual data and reality.
So far they’ve been riding the opportunities that Covid and Ukraine have brought from a blame perspective, but that’s not going to wash for much longer when we’re comparatively coping far worse as a country than others.
