And people who voted for Brexit are racists and xenophobes ?
I'm replying to the post - nothing about her feelings.

She could always go and try to live in the EU who aren't racists and xenophobes, apparently....
Oh...Hang on....

What are you arguing here with this point? That there is not an increased air of xenophobia in racism in the country and, even if there were, it is disassociated from Brexit? And people who voted for Brexit are racists and xenophobes ?

How fecking callous. Exactly the sort of contempt that is at the heart of the issue right now. This country has never been perfect but for a long time it was a damn site better than it is now and progress was being made. We’re at risk of losing decades because of attitudes like yours.
All racists and xenophobes voted for Brexit, yes.
Really.....I've no idea what you're on about.
Of course they did....
But how many of the 17.4 million who did vote to leave the EU are racist xenophobes ?
All of them ??
Because when you throw away stupid, sheeplike statements like that, then you imply that they all are.
So how many, then ??
What are you waffling on about?
Not to be that guy but it really wasn't. I honestly think people forget just how awful things were pre 2016.How fecking callous. Yeah or she could, you know, be allowed to live in the country she calls home and, if you're younger than 37, has been here longer than you.She could always go and try to live in the EU who aren't racists and xenophobes, apparently....
Oh...Hang on....
Simply asking you how many of the 17.4 million people you state are racist xenophobes ( your words, not mine ) are actually racist xenophobes.
And your evidence for that.
Yeah or she could, you know, be allowed to live in the country she calls home and, if you're younger than 37, has been here longer than you.
There's something that always annoys me about people who say "if you don't like it, leave".
Don't be annoying, the point being made is quite clear and your statement about that woman confirmed it somewhat.
She is allowed to stay, no ?? Or did I miss something. Apologies if I did.....
You're entitled to your own annoyances, of course, but at the same time you have to allow others to be annoyed.
In my case, it's those, like many on here, who moan that the EU must be a much better place to live than post-EU UK but don't live in the EU, have never lived in the EU, and seem to have no intention of moving from wherever they currently live to live in the EU. So I understand totally where you're coming from....
He apparently didn't understand my first question - just trying to clarify. Sorry if that annoys you - not meant to be deliberately annoying.
Asking for the impossible evidence to divert from the point is annoying. Are you disputing what he's claiming?
Yes and no.
Yes - Already agreed that all racists and xenophobes undoutedly voted to leave the EU.
No - There aren't 17.4 million racists and xenophobes in the UK, even if it sometimes feels like that. You know that, I know that.
And if the evidence that they are is impossible to present, then maybe he and all the others who repeat this mantra should avoid using it if they want to be taken seriously.
I'm sure you don't really believe that anybody is claiming that. You're nitpicking to avoid the greater point.
What's your guesstimate on how many of them are racists and xenophobes?
@esmufc07 needs to answer the ' how many ' question if he wants to continue with this dogma. Reminder,
Very sad to see that they feel the U.K. is no longer their home because of the racists and xenophobes who voted for Brexit.
I've already made my point - no need to nitpick for the purpose of avoiding anything.
On a bigger scale, let's say that there are, perhaps, three million EU nationals in the UK and ( really, I have no idea - another two million ?? ) permanent UK residents who were not born in the UK.
But tonight, we have a case of one, just one, of those five million makes a post on Social Media and someone on here seizes on it as an excuse to call out 17 million people who voted for the UK to leave the EU for many, many different reasons as being xenophobic racists.
That's the greater point - and I don't know whether that says more about ' the situation ' in the UK post-Referendum or just here on this forum.
I'd prefer to believe it's just here on this very Left Wing forum because whenever we go back to the UK, which is about one week every six weeks, nothing seems different when we're with friends, business contacts, family, etc, and I don't see / feel the anger which gets aired on here. Then again, I've probably never been to the same pubs / Party Regional HQs / Students Union Bars / or wherever as the regular anti-Brexit posters on here.
Also I love Akala, he references the Hopkins article above and is spot on.
I’ve watched that clip of Akala schooling Tomeh countless times. It just never gets old.
EDIT - This one:
He’s so damn articulate.
In my case, it's those, like many on here, who moan that the EU must be a much better place to live than post-EU UK but don't live in the EU, have never lived in the EU, and seem to have no intention of moving from wherever they currently live to live in the EU. Funny because I’m British, have lived in the EU for 5 years and have experienced absolutely zero xenophobia or anti-immigrant shit. Shame so many EU immigrants to the UK are experiencing something very different.
Never heard of Akala. He knows his onions and Tommy Robinson looks like an intellectual midget next to him.
He is excellent. This is a good watch when you have a spare hour.
Elvis, I don't. We can't all be waster tossers like you.
Bloody students.
you’re retired aren’t you
That's irrelevant. I nap a lot and there's lots of stuff doing round the house.
Italy is pretty bad for anti-immigrant views to the point of electing overtly racist, nationalist politicians. There is also lots of support for leaving the EU.
Can’t help but feel like @Full bodied red missed the point.
Not all of the 17.4m who voted to leave are racist and xenophobic
But all of the xenophobic and racist people in the country will have voted for Brexit.
Of course we can’t prove that statistic but it generally the thought process for them. Brexit was appealing to those who voted for it for many different reasons but two of the biggest ones were racism and xenophobia and that can’t be denied so anyone with an inkling for those feelings will have voted in favour of it.
Especially when post referendum there was a reported big increase in hate crime ‘we voted for you to leave’ etc.Simply asking you how many of the 17.4 million people you state are racist xenophobes ( your words, not mine ) are actually racist xenophobes.
And your evidence for that.

More dog whistle bullshit.
Did you know there were more racists in the country back in 1975 when the 67% voted for remain?
People haven't changed from 1975 - but back then the UK were desperate to get in and stay in and were in deep sh!t. Also the press weren't so overt, social media didn't exist and people weren't so emboldened as they are now.
Of course there are loads of reasons why people voted to leave - like being ruled by an unelected Cummings or having all these trade deals that they couldn't have before.
What was the benefit of Brexit again?
Blue passports!
More dog whistle bullshit.
Did you know there were more racists in the country back in 1975 when the 67% voted for remain?
as i understand it, the 1975 campaign was centred around trade while the 2016 one was centred around immigration
