This is actually his second full season as a pro.
Year one was a wash with the injuries at Rangers. Year 2 at Sunderland was his first full year. Last year was myriad with injuries and ETH, again a wash. This year is the 2nd year he's been healthy with significant game time.
All this is to say, with more game time, we could see further significant green shoots in his development.
He's already a pretty good decision maker, being a natural 10. However, if he can get to that Saka level of off the ball movement, tactical dribbling, shot selection, general decisiveness, passing and crossing, we'll have a bonifide superstar on our hands. I actually think he's way more explosive than Saka, a better sprint dribbler and possibly better technique too. A lot of his wins against defenders are based on those at the moment. Those and his relentlessness. He's also got that ability to pull off the unexpected. Some of those first touches to knock the ball past the defense, sudden change of direction to go inside or outside, amazing stuff.
There's still a lot of improvement to be made but the foundational blocks are there. Hope he carries on building!
