I'm a big fan of Amad but if you take out winning the ball with that header that got us up the pitch, which ended with the assist and general hard work off the ball, he had a 5/10 performance at best especially considering the opposition who were mid table Premier League level at best. If people think that's a good level for the rest of the season then we have all forgotten what a good winger plays like.

Never drop him again (this season, unless his form drops off a cliff).

Top class again. We need to trust these skillful players, he has the fight and right attitude as well.

Haha. @UpWithRivers with never live this down

He will be rightfully praised for his skill and trickery today but what I love most about him is his willingness to win the ball high up the pitch. He's our only forward who seems capable of tackling. He earned himself a goal from tackling a defender on Thursday and he almost scored another similar one today.

Another good game, another great contribution to a win. Tries a lot of things, loses concentration sometimes, gives the ball away a fair bit, but he works hard, competes for the ball and has the quality to make things happen.

Reminds me a bit of Raphinha at Leeds.

Who is this poster that wants Amad dropped for Antony?

I worry slightly about him and Garnacho with regards to the 343. Hopefully it's naivety on my part and Ruben has a way of helping them blossom.

Why? Fernandes, Amad, striker. Garnacho off the bench/rotational across the season

The RW position is his and I don't see that changing at all. I'm really hoping Amorim can do even more with him in terms of coaching and development because we could have a serious player in him.

We may not have a right wing position in a couple of weeks!

Another very good game.

The balls he gives away is more because of lack of understanding with teammates than poor touches or awful passes. That can be worked on, so I am not worried.

I am positive about our youth, it is the experienced players that need to step up, and some have.

Great 1st half but a extremely quiet second. So quiet infact I thought he was subbed off.

He's surely has the RW spot for the time being.

He's doing all the things we expect Rashford to do if you're not playing well. He's up for every 50/50, even when he knows he's in a miss match.

It's nice to see someone have the hunger and desire to go for everything.

Told you so

He should be the right wing starter for the foreseeable future and should be given as many chances as Rashford has gotten.

Good game, hopefully he keeps getting better and better, and hopefully he is given the chances to develop further, he won't be this good in every game and I hope Amorim keeps faith in him

Do wonder if he would be considered as a right wing back option especially in games like today against lesser opposition at home. May not have the defensive discipline, but he certainly would be a huge upgrade going forward over someone like Dalot.

Very good, shame he couldn’t finish the chance for a goal he deserved.

I really like the idea of what he can turn into, but he really needs to start putting the ball in the net in the league.

That chance before half time has to go away.

He has always had good technique but the tenacity to fight for the ball is what is impressing me the most. Shown good acceleration in pressing.

Agree, he should have gone for precision and placing the ball instead of just blindly smashing the ball. Would have been a great way to finish of his good first half.

Very curious to see what Amorim thinks of him and how he is used in the side because besides his attacking and creativity, he also has a pretty good defensive work rate.

Won't be surprised to see him used in the WB role.

This is what was missing from him. If he can work hard and press and intelligently win the ball then, it does not matter if things dont go always his way on the ball, he will be very usefull to the new system. Should player with Bruno under the striker.

Big difference to Rashford who cant win the ball to save his life, making him even more useless when out of form.

We should use him further up. He can press and we desperately need press in front. Hes also slight built and WB could get him into many positions where he could get injured, think we need a different player there. Amad's decision making and vision should be better a bit further up, while freeing him from deep defensive duties.

Like you I would want to see Amad as one of the two behind the striker if Amo goes with his preferred 3421. However, given one of those spots is reserved for Bruno and Amo might want to use someone with pace as the other one (Rashy or Nacho), Amad may find himself on the bench.

A couple of Sporting fans have mentioned that Amo likes to use a left footed winger as a RWB, that's why I think Amad could be used there.

Hope he's used in one of the creative forward positions alongside Bruno, personally, not as a WB. He's lovely in tight spaces and on the turn, and he's a good finisher from 15 yards or so. Times a run into the box off the ball well too - if he wasn't so titchy he'd be scoring some headers. Presses/tackles well as a forward but is less effective actually defending in his own half.

Garnacho is the one I'd expect might convert well into a WB. He likes to start wide, receiving the ball in space, or use his pace to chase diagonal balls to the wing. Gets up and down the wing defensively too.

He's been the best attacker this season, offers a threat in possession but can also retain the ball under pressure.

I think he does well in Amorim's system especially comparing his profile with Marcus Edwards.
