As unjust as it is that he got dropped, he probably got lucky today because if he started we'd have still got drubbed because the team and tactics are dreadful, and he'd have been part of it. Being on the bench shielded him from the backlash.

It's so true. And we're seeing the worst version of him right now, given the manager won't give him games to develop and the rest of the team plays hot potato football. And despite that he still looks like our brightest player. In a technically solid team who can keep the ball and a manager who knows what he's doing, he'd be fantastic.

Agree. Amad and Mainoo are on a different level in terms of football iq and technique. They would be shining in team like City.

We were clearly trying to play on the transition though, which makes a lot more sense with those two. I agree though, he has to say no to one at this point.
