He doesn’t. Our fans are just desperate for a young academy attacker to be good.Don't think he is half the talent some seem to think he has

Yeah he can't really beat a man. He's good at creating half a yard for himself though - which he wastes more often than anything.
Yeah his take on stats are pretty crapExcept for cutting in from the left I have yet to see him beating his man regularly.
IIRC, he has one of the worst success rates taking on his man. Yet, he’s our best player in that department. It’s insane.Except for cutting in from the left I have yet to see him beating his man regularly.
Very much like Dan James when he was at the club.Yeah he can't really beat a man. He's good at creating half a yard for himself though - which he wastes more often than anything.
James was way quicker, but had a fair bit less than Garnacho has.Very much like Dan James when he was at the club.
If I was him I'd say feck it and leave. He'll have a better chance at fulfilling his potential elsewhere and it definitely looks like the club is trying to push him into wanting to leave so we can cash in. It's shite because he's the type of player this club should look for in our attack (style, just need more experienced and consistent), and instead it's looking like we're building towards a different direction. Just don't like that for us.
Can't remember the last time he scored.
Does he have a goal under Amorim?
Because he doesn't have the ballsHas it been explained why he didn't take one of the five penalties?
He’s our only available attacker who can beat a man 1 v 1. Unfortunately, he has awful finishing and decision making.

When has he been any different? He suffers from low confidence and the team being in a bad state. But even with all of that, I just don't think, he is going to be a player that will be decisive for how United as a team goes forward. Given our bad track record of recruitment, I am skeptical as the chance is big we waste the money but if that wouldn't be a factor, I'd say try to generate some cash and invest in one or two players that fit the system more than he does.
I think, he is on the same trajectory as Rashford, a player that is called a winger that wants to play as a wing forward, always more focussed on getting on the end of stuff rather than creating for others. His dribbling isn't great, his speed isn't other worldly, his decision making is not great. He stands out positively in our team because the rest is so bad. United these days isn't a good environment for young players to flourish in, too much expectations, pressure. And a team that seems so far behind in terms of collective principles that players will always look worse than they would in other teams.
Not entirely sure what you mean but he is pretty young so even if he is like that for a while, there was a chance that he would grow out of some of the issues. That being said, he is still young and could achieve that but the more I see him, the less opimistic I am. And the less optimistic, the more I'd push for generating cash with him. When has he been any different?
I dont see any issue with his performances. We shouldn't be dependent on a kid to win or finish chances . He should be coming in as a sub and slowly building his performances.
Yep and our fans will celebrate it because we’ll get a shiny new wing back that will become not needed when Amorim gets sacked and we change systems again. And not one of them will rally against the club who put us in the position that we HAVE to sell our brightest talents because of their incompetence.
Then when Garnacho fulfills his potential elsewhere while we’re struggling in attack, those same fans will insist “he had attitude problems” or “he wanted to leave”. Or if he does it in another league “it’s a slower league that suits him”.
By style of player I think United need, I mean a winger who can run with the ball and is relentless in his mentality to keep going and going, has natural talent and the ability to create a yard of space and is a threat for both creating and scoring. His movement is excellent to get in dangerous positions and always be a threat. He needs to improve and he will, but likely will improve more elsewhere because we aren't the right environment for him. This is what I don’t understand because I think he is close to being the opposite of what we need in attack, to the point where his limitations epitomize our whole attack’s limitations.
He lacks the sort of power and physicality that our attack more generally lacks. He has ok pace, although it’s not stand out for that position in the PL, and in technical terms his dribbling isn’t good enough to consistently make that pace count, especially when working in tight spaces.
More importantly though he’s selfish and predictable with an inability to get his head up and make smart decisions, he’s a poor finisher, and he’s not a creative or incisive passer. And those are all recurring issues that plague our whole attack. We’re lacking in any kind of fluid, creative, cohesive interplay amongst our front line, and I honestly don’t see how a player with Garnacho’s skillset is ever going to help foster that kind of play. He struggles to even figure out the benefits of using an overlap - which oddly enough if he used it more often, would actually make his one trick of cutting in and shooting more unpredictable and more effective.
So in your opinion, what particular attributes make him the style/type of player we should be looking for in our attack?
I agree with prefering him on the right.By style of player I think United need, I mean a winger who can run with the ball and is relentless in his mentality to keep going and going, has natural talent and the ability to create a yard of space and is a threat for both creating and scoring. He's young, his end product has been shit. That stuff will turn in time, and especially when there are others to share the load and be the main men. Right now, there isn't another attacker who looks like they can create a chance, score a goal, or even get a chance let alone take it. Without him we provide 0.
On Garnacho himself, I've said for ages now that I think he's much better on the right. His best period under Ten Hag came from the right wing, but Amorim seems to be insisting on using him on the left only. On the right I think he plays more naturally, he lifts his head up and is a smarter player, while on the left he tries to play off instinct to cut in and shoot which isn't the right choice always.
My issue is I love watching wingers who run with the ball at defenders and try to make things happen and cause danger, and I think our system is moving away from that. So I don't like that.

Eh I'm not being critical on Bruno, i just see him as a central midfielder who is a creator, not one of the direct attackers. He's just doing everything for us because he's far and away our best playerI’m not convinced our system is moving completely away from that. We’re just not seeing the system in play properly yet because of the myriad squad issues we have. The WBs in Amorim’s system are supposed to make things happen and cause danger in the wide areas, and if the rumours of us going for Quenda in the summer are true, we could potentially have him and Amad doing exactly that.
Agreed on Garnacho looking better on the right. He is such a frustrating player on the left. I don’t agree that it’s a given he will improve or consistently find end product to a sufficient degree though. Maybe he does, but the reality is that many young players don’t end up progressing beyond their early promise, and I’m genuinely not convinced his ceiling is that high.
I also think the bolded paragraph is incredibly harsh on Bruno. He has 10+ goals and assists under Amorim. Garnacho has zero.
