I know this is what has me worried because Amorim's preferred winger at wingback choice seems to come from the right hand side of the pitch.

I'm unsure why it has to be on the right only but why it can't happen on the left hand side of the pitch instead.
I don't think it's his preference to play from the right or left, but the personnel available?

Licha isn't the fastest so having a full back on that side protects him.

That's just my assumption though.

Why doesn't he get a chance at LWB?

Does Amroim only used inverted wingback at RWB like he did with Quenda?

Garnacho is starting to cross very well and seems to be more suited to LWB than at LAM in the long term.

He seems to have upped his work rate aswell.

I think if he was to be LWB and Amad at RWB, Martinez your CB, the midfield options being what they are, you're looking at a very weak team that's terrible in the air. Likely the worst in the Premier League in that regard. Teams would punish that.

So I think that's one reason we don't see Garnacho at LWB.

Secondly, for the type of player he is, there's a nagging feeling he's physically not good enough. Quick but not that quick. Fairly weak. Is he really physically good enough to pound up and down that line to good effect.

That's exactly the reason, he gets pushed off the ball very easily. Amad might look smaller but he's very balanced and strong for his small frame. Garnacho meanwhile falls over in most duels.

If he bulks up a little bit we might see Garnacho play there in the future but I don't think he's ready for that role right now.

He doesn't seem to have physically changed over the last couple of years. At all really.

Man Utd 2:1 Leicester New
He and Amad are our only hope in the cups. With a smattering of Zirkzee. Sad, sad state of affairs.

We haven't even had a handful of games with Zirkzee playing as a false 9 with those 2 as inverted forwards.

I think I've seen it once where Zirkzee was made to play as a target man + 1 sub tactical change.

The one real bright spot, other than that one chance he dragged wide when he needed to shoot across the goal he did very well.

Brings penetration and was overall decent today, but his decisions is just awful. Should be docked wages every time he shoots.

Looked a threat through-out the 2nd half. Deflected effort cleared off the line via the crossbar. A few shots of varying quality. Several crosses including in the build-up to Zirkzee's goal, initial flick by Hojlund blocked but fell nicely for Zirkzee. His pace makes a big difference.

Frustrating, poor with final pass and decision making but also exciting player that can actually go past players. Given he's only 20 he'll only get better, at United or somewhere else. One of our MotM's tonight.

His first touch is so underrated. Calms every wild ball so easily and makes himself space from hospital passes he receives often from Bruno and co.

If he can just keep getting to the byline for cut backs he will rack up assists once we have someone to finish them off.

Don’t fecking dare consider selling him again! Yes he’s frustrating but he’s the only player bar Amad that makes this team worth watching. I dread to think how we’d look if he left in January.

Agreed. We're back to hoping and praying individuals deliver. That performance against a second string and absolutely terrible Leicester side is very concerning.

Garnacho did enough to lift us but he needs to really improve his decision making

Changed the game when he came on. Wish some of his teammates had his energy. It will be a sad day if we sell him for PSR reasons in the summer. He's one of the only players that get me off my seat.

Very good tonight apart from that daft decision to shoot when Amad was free. The difference between his and Rashford's attitude is night and day. He rose to Amorim's challenge and now Amorim has tweaked the system enough that he can operate as a LW. That's the kind of attitude we need.

He changed the game. The issue is that his decision making is poor. If he can fix his decision making, he would be a top player.

I would regard Garnacho and Amad as 'Fergie' players, namely showing for the ball and always trying to make things happen. A lot of the others are too passive and timid.

Anyone who advocated selling him is a clown. He'll last longer than Amorim.

it still boggles my mind. was like living in an alternate reality. if we played a line up with our best players in best positions, garnacho would be wide left. amad wide right. bruno at 10. just because ten hag couldnt implement it, doesnt mean no manager can.

anyway, a player this age with that much talent is rare, and youd think our fans would understand that more than anybody, given the rubbish weve spent huge money on for a decade. If we sell him its a total disaster.

I still have my doubts but he is why I will never buy the service or system excuse for the other attackers. His efficiency is atrocious but just the willingness to try puts them to shame. As subpar as some of the cutback decisions were Zirkzee should have been in the hole to clean some up.

Rueben might have a few things wrong but he has improved Garnacho recently. He's way more prepared to go down the outside now, which helps the team and helps himself. If defenders know he will go either direction they have more to think about and they potentially have to allow themselves more reaction time, so a pace further off them.

He’s relentless.

Yes, direct and keeps going at people regardless of how the last attempt ended up. That whole "has to be sold, doesn't fit the system" as if the system is some proven certainty and 10 games from a kid is enough to show he can't play it.

Great performance. Put in a number of good low cutbacks that deserved more.

I can live with one braindead decision, when he performs like tonight. I do wish he'd get better at finishing though.
