He has also stayed after practice to help Rashford with his finishing. Verratti cried when he left. All evidence suggests he has grown into a great role model in his later years.
He's fantastic, a real professional. He became the leader we see today, around the time he became the captain of the national team in 2010. Started to take even more responsibility and looking after the young ones.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems as if a bit of Ibra has "rubbed" of on Rashford. Trying to "mimic" some of his movements and trying to use Ibra's trademark move - the "heels".

He's done some great work in resolving the Israeli-Palestine conflict too.

He's the true captain of the club. I hope he gets the armband to reflect that when Rooney finally leaves.

Will most likely be Pogba...

I'm not so sure. Definitely soon but if Zlatan is here for another season I think he's the natural leader. That would leave Pogba to take it when he is 25/26 which will be perfect.

He'll stay and he will be even better next season. Giggs managed another 4 seasons on top of Ibra's age.

They have a similar approach to their wellbeing, showing absolute respect to their body on a daily basis and it pays dividends. As well as being in incredible shape physically he's quite unique in his physical makeup and technical skill set. He just doesn't rely on pace in any way shape or form.

He will score even more next season.
Those seasons weren't of this level though. Giggs was often brilliant but in terms of significance faded in and out as opposed to being the talisman who you could depend on week in week out. So I wouldn't expect that much of this level from Ibra. But yeah, the way he's going next season could be just as good/better.

I don't really see where he's going to drop ability wise at the minute. He's already pretty slow and his intelligence makes up for it completely and he's not going to lose that. It's possible that injuries will become more frequent and rhythm will be lost though I guess.

Without saying a single word, he's already a model because his teammates can see:

- he works very hard at each training session despite his status
- he wants to win any game at the training sessions

People always say that a striker who lacks pace can't run in behind. Ibra has proved, time and time again, that if you time your runs right then you'll leave the defence for dead regardless.

I really don't understand the fascination with speed. Understanding the game is much more important.

Yes @Anders80, we all know what Trump said & we all know nothing actually happened in Sweden, hence why people were making jokes about it in this thread. :D

Oh lol. Sorry for being slow then. People have been catching on these things over the past couple of years all over the net where it had to be explained. Didn't know you brits were that enlightened. ;)

According to some on here, he has no leadership qualities.

Can't quite understand that point of view myself.

Not a common one. It was some new member that voiced his opinion on his ego.

Haha that's probably me you're talking about

Well he enjoys being the big star and the leader of the team. He demands it. And he does it very good. As long as he is a great player he will lead United the same way he led Inter, Milan, PSG. To wins.

But he stops being a leader when someone else are taking the freekicks and penalties. His ego is bigger than any team or club. If Zlatan is not the big star he will decline very fast as a leader and as a player.

Beautiful. Exactly what I love about him and what we've needed for a few years

Haven't seen that Twigginator guy about for a while. Didn't he make a bet that Zlatan wouldn't score more than 7 goals?

Would love to understand how he even could think it would be possible for Zlatan to score so few goals. I mean he surely must have known that Zlatan would be playing as your main striker, and as a striker alone. How would it even be possible for a striker in a team like United who plays week after week to score less than 10? Did he think Zlatan only would stand in the middle of the pitch without moving towards the goal or what?

Well there were a few caveats. One it was only in the league and from open play.

PS - I still haven't been massively impressed with his contribution on the pitch.

Talk about money well spent!

But...but, he is too old and needs to be rested. If he isn't rested, he can't score goals.
...or so the story goes. ;)

With regards to earlier comments about days/weeks, people wanted Ibra benched - these sorts of comments have been posted in this thread as well as in the match day threads. Some fans wanted him on the bench with Rashford and Martial in front of him, in the pecking order. Martial/Rash are the future, Ibra is not good enough, etc.

It is mind-boggling that any team would want their most prolific goal scorer, by far, benched.
And with regards to rest - Ibra does not need rest. Mourinho told Ibra to go on holiday - take a 2 week break. Ibra said, "no".

There are some players like P.Jones, who should not play too much, because their body breaks easily. 2 games per month is fine for these players. But then there are some uber-athletes like Ibra and Pogba, who can play 2 games per week, with ease.

I think Twigginator was deeply upset that Jose got the job, which is why he may be showing negativity towards Jose's player purchases.

There was also another poster on here, called Santiago....or something. That dude was absolutely convinced that LVG's philosophy was fantastic. Some of his posts in the LVG Out thread, were legendary. I personally think that he was LVG's publicist, who was trying to get fans onside. Once LVG got sacked, there was no need for him to post any more messages on MUFC message boards, so Santiago will never be heard from ever again. Unless, of course, LVG is re-hired

 I remember him

Is he the most skillful striker we've seen at his age?

The shimmys, the dribbling ability etc?

Of course it is flashy stuff and not always effective but there may be a genuine case there. He probably attempts more 'take-ons' than your average 35 year old striker..

Ibra's always been a professional regarding this and mentioned a bit about this on the official site:

http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-F...he-has-handled-the-hectic-spell-of-games.aspx

"I feel good," he said. "I feel in shape. The boss has made a good programme for me since the start. He has been adapting my physical point of view and the way I can play every game. He has to get the credit for that. The mixture between training, recovery and the game, I do it differently, and he set it up for me. So that’s why I can hold out for so long. And, when you have a body like me, it’s not a normal body. It’s like when you see an animal. It goes in and is fresh always so I see myself as an animal."
