Ahh, @Dobbs in denial again in the Zlatan thread, all the below were from just one page on 2nd Feb.

Said this before several times but you just don't read posts properly.

The poster in question said in the last few days many have wanted him dropped. I questioned it.

You've shot back nearly three weeks for comments after the Hull game in which he was poor.

They are all joking ffs

This is really off topic so I will not say more than necessary, but after a speech by a certain Trump today he was also insinuating stuff about my country, so I thought this was related. My bad.

I've read many posts in this thread about frustrations with Zlatan looking sloppy, uninterested and lazy and that he drops deep too often. The thing is, he's always played like this during the 15+ years I've been following him, so it's nothing new. This is just how he plays.

Thought he'd be a good signing for this season but he's surpassed my expectations. He's not the most clinical but he's getting himself into dangerous positions with a high frequency and making sure he's in the goals.

He's not only scoring but his touches are always so purposeful, when he holds up the ball, somehow he always turns and looks for the cutting pass. He's made us miles better than we would've otherwise been IMO.

Can't lie, he's the most exciting player in our team. I don't remember being that excited from seeing a player's name in the starting XI for a long time. Regardless of where we finish this season, he's the main reason that this season is so enjoyable for me.

I was just saying to my mate before he came on "Looks like we ll need to get Zlatan in to finish this game."

He'll stay and he will be even better next season. Giggs managed another 4 seasons on top of Ibra's age.

They have a similar approach to their wellbeing, showing absolute respect to their body on a daily basis and it pays dividends. As well as being in incredible shape physically he's quite unique in his physical makeup and technical skill set. He just doesn't rely on pace in any way shape or form.

He will score even more next season.

My favourite goal so far from him yesterday, It was a hard chance and the way he placed it first time was incredible.

What a player he is tailor made for Manchester United.

He actually wrote "days/weeks" so it's yourself that doesn't read posts properly @Dobbs and you also then replied, "You're talking about during the summer or earlier in the season I think.". And well no, not during the Summer Dobbs & not earlier in the season, but in the last few weeks.

Yes @Anders80, we all know what Trump said & we all know nothing actually happened in Sweden, hence why people were making jokes about it in this thread. :D

I loved his cameo performance yesterday. His goal, his attitude, his leadership, his keep-ball, it was all great. What a human.

Had him down for between 20-25. I now want him to touch 40 if he can, would guarantee us a trophy or two and top 4.

Would also make it if we started getting some pens in the league.

He said the "last few days/weeks." I asked about the last few days bit. There's no criticism of Ibra going on here, you can stand down, take a breather.

I'd rest him against St Etienne as well. Have him on the bench just in case, maybe give him 20 mins to keep him ticking over.

There's probably not too many opportunities to give him a break after this so may as well while we can.

Na, there were plenty of people wanting him dropped, or claiming they wish he hadn't signed to allow either Rashford or Martial to play in the number 9.

I'll never understand why

Well wishing he had never been signed (presuming no-one else would've been) is going too far obviously but I don't think wanting him to miss the occasional game is that silly when;
A) he is 35
B) we play twice a week
C) we have an exciting young striker we could play in smaller games

No Dobbs, you didn't say "nothing has been said in the last few days, maybe the last few weeks". You stated clearly that the poster must mean the Summer or earlier in the season.

To claim some posters haven't been doubting Zlatan and wanting for example Martial up top even as late as a couple of weeks ago just isn't true, as mental as it sounds.

You don't read posts properly (that was a reply to a completely different poster for example) and you're hyper defensive of Ibra. Not a good mix. There's no criticism to even defend here. As usual you've bogged the discussion down with confusion.

It's not even a big deal so I'll this leave this here with yourself. This exchange can't be fun to read. Maybe the poster I actually asked could reply rather than yourself.

Aye @sunama

I've actually asked Brwned to thread-ban me as I've never been remotely as frustrated with a thread before like I have with this Zlatan one, and after his next couple of quiet games it'll start again, 30 goals won't be enough, "it should have been 45" etc. Better for everyone and especially my own sanity to just leave it after this ;)

Loved how he looked for the child that ran on to the pitch during his celebration and his leadership qualities are something we have sadly missed. We are becoming dangerously over reliant on him. (if we weren't already).

According to some on here, he has no leadership qualities.

Mark Lawrenson is a bit of an idiot but he did say this yesterday about Zlatan : "Every time I've seen Zlatan live, he's great wth the younger players. He never gets down on them or beats on them if they play a bad pass. He's always clapping them, he's got a great attitude and seems a really good professional."

He has also stayed after practice to help Rashford with his finishing. Verratti cried when he left. All evidence suggests he has grown into a great role model in his later years.

This. We're looking at his contribution in real time in terms of game time and goals scored and that's fine, but I think his overall contribution to Manchester United will come in a few years when we look back retrospectively at the players Rashford and hopefully Martial have become and appreciate the mentoring he gave them. I'd have loved him here in his pomp.
