RVP had 23 at this stage, and it was around this point where he went on that little goal drought. What's surprising for me is that RVP only had 4 non PL goals that season.

RVP was great that season but I thought he became a bit overrated tbh. Zlatan has been much better imo and that on a team with much less stability.
Unfortunately don't see him staying for another season.
6.2 rating with 24 goals and 7 assists in 36 games at his age (at any age it's ridiculous).
Even though scoring goals is the main aim Football, the caftards don't rate goal scoring. They do rate someone who dribbles and has little end product.
The caftards demand that if you have a goal scorer, he should be benched and replaced by a teenager.

His rating is 6.2 because it's all relative. I don't think anyone has higher than 7 and his rating is one of the highest which means the Caf rates him as one of the best players in the team this season- which he has been.
He'll have some low ratings for the games early on in the season where his poor finishing cost us points.

tbf i would say i'm one of zlatans biggest fans and think he is by far out most important player. my average on him is also 6.3
i think when he "only" scores a goal and the rest of them game is average people give him about 6-7 wich is fair enough. how many games did he had where you just thought "wow what an amazing game"? cant think of many if any. but that said the same applies to everyone on the team
Yeah but still - Shaw has 6.1. How is it possible to have .1 difference between our most and least important players this season? I've got Luke at 5.6 and Zlatan at 6.6.
Truth is, the average ratings are a bit rubbish, for the most part.
No way we would've won the title without him. All the praise he got that season was justified. When I look back at that season I remember how RVP won us the title almost single-handedly.
Basically a 7 as an average rating is basically a 10. People rate performances differently. For instance, if Zlatan scores an important goal and does not much else I'd give him a 7. Some people might give him a 6, some maybe a 9. Had Ibra not missed all those chances earlier this season, he'd be around a 6.8 for sure.

hes great, even after next season I can see him being valuable as a squad option at 37, if he still wants to stay of course
We finished level on points with City the year before without him. Obviously he had a great season for us and was a big contributor to us winning the title, but I never bought the idea he carried us there single-handedly.
Zlatan has now scored in all 5 competitions this season (I am including Community Shield here).

Cause Shaw hasn't played since the start of the season. Ratings/general optimism is a lot higher at the start of the season irrespective of performances. See, the overrating of Darmian and Memphis at the start of last season.

He's the leading goal scorer in England in all competitions if I'm not mistaken.

I think it's fair to say he should have scored more, especially during Oct-Nov and he can play even better. But to claim (as others have) that other strikers would be better or scoring more if they were here is crazy talk for me, he's been sensational & is the best in the league for me.
If we can keep him for another year I expect him to be even better which is a mental thing to say about someone his age.
