I think this just might be my favourite story for as long as I can remember. I am just gutted I didn't watch Hannity last night, I bet he was going apoplectic. I doff my cap to Mr McMaster as well. Trump will be pissed, so will Hannity, Rudy G and all the other absolute morons who went on and on and on absolutely slamming Obama and Hillary and saying that they will never win a war that they don't name and until they say the magic words RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM. Of course Obama and Hillary did both say it from time to time, but it seems that Mr McMaster agrees with their train of thought in that saying those words doesn't help, in fact it does quite the opposite. Some sanity in the White House it seems, damn good to see and there is hope. Hopefully McMaster is asked about the travel ban too, because it's pretty clear he wouldn't agree with that either, certainly not from the standpoint of someone hired to prevent terrorist attacks and to formulate a plan to defeat ISIS.

I was literally reading about this when you posted it, I know it was to be expected but it's a shocker. Apparently he's hitting retirement funds and benefits that go to the elderly very hard as well. We will have to wait and see, but so far it's not looking good. The only saving grace I can see so far is he's apparently not cutting funding to Medicaid and social security, but until it's actually announced obviously we can't be sure.
Isn't it pretty much what you expected from 45/Bannon? He doesn't care about anybody else but himself and his cronies. And I'm pretty certain that millions of Americans will applaude him for this plan, including many of those who will be affected by this budget: The deconstruction of agencies and institutions will be sold as 'draining the swamp' and 'getting rid of unfair bonds to American industry' and as a necessary personal sacrifice to #MAGA.

The depressing thing is the elderly and poor whites who will be ruined by these cuts will still somehow find a way to blame 'the liberals'.
You have to hope their ideology makes them start hammering away at ACA, SS, Medicare simultaneously. It's the only way for them to be beaten.
I think SS is the real poisoned chalice, even Reagan couldn't achieve it and W burned himself badly trying to privatise it after winning a second term. Healthcare in general is a complex issue that can be spun at will so I doubt the Dems can make any meaningful attack out of it.
Also, never underestimate their ruthlessness. Another war is always on the cards to divert from domestic issues.

But I am reasonably optimistic that IF they decide to wage all-out war on all social programs, actual war may not work as well this time - partly because of Trump's own criticism within the primaries which outraged everyone and didn't affect his numbers a single percent. I'm also reasonably sure that at least half the Dems will attack him heavily on any welfare cuts including medicine, but as you said, they are masters of politics and winning.
I'm not worried. Any GOP congressman that supports this budget will be absolutely crucified. They're not gonna go anywhere near it.

It's been reported numerous times that Trump likes to order a destroyed steak. I think it's a chefs biggest hate, that and people putting sauce on their food. It's no shock that he has no taste, just look at the awful suits he wears.@Crossie @Flames73 @Blackwidow

I actually like well done steak, and chefs who are so up their own asses that they think they can turn their noses up at customers prefered tastes can go feck themselves.
I prefer it rare but have tried both well done and bleu. Put a gun to my head though and the former is definitely the lesser evil.
@Kentonio chefs hate well done steak because it takes forever to cook so make our lives harder, there are those who are snobbish but generally we don't give a shite about your taste.
