Can someone explain this to me? I know he hasn't the narrative skills Obama has, but how can anybody take this guy serious when he is talking garbage like this? English is my third language, and even I find this laughable.

According to @Danny1982 and @antihenry these are the words of a man with intelligence that cannot be questioned.

That's unbelievable even by his own, admittedly, incredibly low standards. Surely that's not real? I'm at work so can't watch through the rally video right now and didn't have access to all of the transcript I found.

Yeah if intelligence wins elections I'd hate to see who Michelle bachmann beat. Or Palin. Screaming rigged, email, Benghazi, jobs, great, etc 100 times a day to the masses doesn't make you intelligent.

If its deliberate action to win an election then there's an argument there. Trump and his campaign certainly did make certain deliberate choices to enhance their odds but Trump being a feckwit certainly wasn't one.

Saying that i kind of agree with those being mocked, if Clintons campaign was the one with the more intelligent team they certainly didn't make smarter decisions.

I don't see anyone calling Trump's team stupid.

That transcript just displays the fact that, he has an insanely low attention span. Has he been tested for ADHD? It's something I battled with when I was younger and fortunately, I've overcome it. But I know many people that were treated with me that appear to have better attention to detail than this moron but, still can't function in a meaningful way.

Yes, he does, his biographer said as much - they had to cut interviews short because Trump's mind would wander. Trump also doesn't (and can't competently) read.

It's funny that the likes of @Americano and @Will Absolute and @the unknown one. will all come into the thread gloating about Trump and his victory etc, but fail to actually defend many of the paradoxes of his political ideology or many of his views, beliefs and plans. All of them will, of course, complain about the supposedly biased liberal narrative, yet most kind of come in, make scattering comments and moan about how hard it is being ridiculed, and then feck off again without actually backing up their views.

@Paz has at least demonstrated some willingness to defend his own views or have a genuine discussion once or twice, but then has often fallen into a similar trap as well.
That's a rare postive view for me in this thread, why, thank you!
ps. the answer is, it's quite hard when we're in such a minority and fighting against the tide.

His case must be very severe. The first three lines, in the first paragraph are all over the place. It's quite incredible, that a presidential candidate can't keep three sentences on topic.

Probably because he's never had any reason to try and rein it in. The people around him will have constantly been making allowances and indulging him from a very young age.

Missed this one...

The order reads:

“Now, therefore, I, Donald J. Trump, president of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Jan. 20, 2017, as National Day of Patriotic Devotion, in order to strengthen our bonds to each other and to our country — and to renew the duties of government to the people. Our Constitution is written on parchment, but it lives in the hearts of the American people,” the order continues.

“There is no freedom where the people do not believe in it; no law where the people do not follow it; and no peace where the people do not pray for it.”

Paz just called all the Trump supporters a bunch of Canutes, he'll hurt their sensitive feelings with language like that the brute.

Oh, feck me, I thought that was a joke from that North Korea twitter feed yesterday. Of course it has to be a real thing.

I just find it funny that of the two camps in this thread only one seems to comment on the bullshit moves Trump has been pulling off since getting the job. Dapl, Epa, tax breaks etc...

The other side says fcuk all except pop in to moan about liberal this Democrat that, tiresome but it gives you a window into what really drives them. Clearly Trump bs is right at the bottom of their list...

Did I?!
Like the mainstream media totally twisting my words/sentiments. heh :p

I think if you zoom out, you'd see the Chief Justice had just started talking, therefore Trump turned around and people put on a respectful face rather than joke around...but why let the facts get in the way. Let's stick to 'we need to save Melania' 'omgz he must be abusing her' etc etc

Obama's proclamation is equally as yucky.

As I take the sacred oath of the highest office in the land, I am humbled by the responsibility placed upon my shoulders, renewed by the courage and decency of the American people, and fortified by my faith in an awesome God ... On this Inauguration Day, we are reminded that we are heirs to over two centuries of American democracy, and that this legacy is not simply a birthright — it is a glorious burden. Now it falls to us to come together as a people to carry it forward once more.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim January 20, 2009, a National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation, and call upon all of our citizens to serve one another and the common purpose of remaking this Nation for our new century.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

Cheers for getting that. Indeed, ugh.

Yup. And that's why I have some sympathy with the argument that point-scoring on twitter is full of dissimilation and bias from both camps.
