The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I literally said questioning his actions is what you should be doing. And I was clearly not talking about the moral aspect. There is no need to add to what I said which was very specific and clear. He has just won against your 'more qualified, more intelligent' and far more heavily supported kandidate. You can call him 'evil', but stupid?

"It doesn't take much to be intellectually superior to Trump and his ilk.". The whole democratic party (which I assume most support here) was intellectually inferior to him.

Besides the issue is not really how much both of you would score in a hypothetical IQ test. He just won the elections against all odds, when pretty much everybody was against him. Calling him stupid and mocking his intellectual ability immediately afterwards just doesn't make any sense.
What doesn't make sense is the entire premise of your argument.

Speculation similar to this is the problem. And has led to comments such as this

I don’t like the man at all but some of the ridiculous stories being spun about this or that is really terrible. And how people cannot see how one sided the media is, is crazy. Yet the moment fox news dare to be complimentary they get abuse.

He cheated on two wives, sued by first wife for rape before settling with NDA signed, has a history of mistreating women and being a complete bellend. It's inevitable people would speculate.

Bloody hell I didn't know any of this, it's actually enraged me so much.

Is there more to this?

Well there's his positively statesmanlike denial, if you're interested.

"It’s obviously false,” Donald Trump said of the accusation in 1993, according to Newsday. “It’s incorrect and done by a guy without much talent… He is a guy that is an unattractive guy who is a vindictive and jealous person.”

its gone in such a way now many seem to be struggling to separate the bullshit from actual news stories. The other day some people really thought his speech was taken from the Bee Movie FFS

And the media is the blame

It didn’t work in the election, if anything it seemed to help Trump and probably will again 4 years

The way I see it there's a backround hum of bullshit on social media, which gets liked and shared by different people depending on their politics. It definitely makes it harder for real news to be heard above all the nonsense clogging up our bandwidth. What frustrates me is that you're far more likely to get verifiable facts published by the "MSM" yet this is the type of media most often accused of being deliberately misleading.

The worst thing about it is that his comments about the biographer being unattractive reveal that Trump was as probably as bothered about the reference to his bald spot as anything else in the anecdote.

Exactly, it only reinforces his narcissism and insecurity and only makes the accusation seem more credible.

If winning = intelligence, does attractive = truthfulness?

Sounds like an alternative fact to me, must be true.

Not to mention the level of misogyny whereby a man can read about an accusation of rape and get hung up on people finding out about his fecking bald spot.

This is going to be a very turbulent presidency, his closet has so many skeletons it's just not going to stay closed. Something is going to give, and it's going to get ugly.

I was thinking all along that they must have something

But there are a lot of very smart and in the know people who detest the man. I think if there was anything at all concrete it would have happened by now

So basically anyone in a position of power is smarter and more accomplished than everyone else, so you can't question them.

Nice try, but that's not what I said. Question them all you want but it's stupid to assume they're intellectually inferior just because you don't like what they say or what they represent.

Well I think it's pretty clear that there are things out there against him - doesn't he still have sexual assault accusations against him? And unpaid subcontractors suing him too? Concrete or not isn't for us to judge because we don't have access to all the facts.

As a president however, there will be details about his history that either isn't widely known, or was previously covered up and it could become public knowledge. And once social media gets a hold of it, it could open the door for more to be revealed.

They tried the same tactic with Obama but all they found was he smoked weed in college, so instead they led with lies about him being a Kenyan-born Muslim.

What you're missing is that the current fact we have at hand now is that he won against you (resoundingly). Even 'proving' that he's a moron doesn't put you in a better light compared to him, because you still lost to him. Treating him like a clueless idiot has only hurt you, and will hurt you even more now that you lost to him.

No, but it's stupid to mock the intelligence of somebody who has just beaten you. You might not realize this because of how strongly you feel about him and how biased this place is, but for anybody who doesn't feel as strongly as you about him, it doesn't really make much sense.

However you're absolutely entitled to question his actions. Actually that is what you should be doing.
I see me beating you at chess had a deeper existential impact on you than I had thought.

What about based on listening to them rambling incoherently in response to questions that they clearly don't grasp appropriately?

It's not in any way ridiculous to question Trump's intelligence. It's frankly more ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

It's also stupid to assume that somebody is assuming they're intellectually inferior because they didn't like what they said or what they represent.

You're the one assuming the only reason to question someone's intelligence is if you don't like what they say.

EDIT: I swear I didn't copy Zarlak.

Not sure where you're going there. Intelligence contributes to winning, truthfulness doesn't contibute to attractiveness.

Incidentally, that was the exact same way you proved me wrong when I questioned your intelligence! Did question your morality afterwards, but couldn't question your intelligence anymore! :D

If you want to know about a candidates character, go back and look for reports and stories before they ran for public office. The ones about Trump are deeply unsettling and worrying.

I was taking the piss. His winning has nothing to do with his intelligence and therefore I was joking about truthfulness not contributing to attractiveness. You're making a really weird connection here.

You mistake intelligence with being born into privilege. History have shown countless of people getting into the most powerful office in a country without being intelligent. Plenty of Roman emperors were absolute stupid but got the office due family wealth and social connections.

Being born into priviledge doesn't make you the US president. He was born rich and his family wealth and connections clearly helped him in his business endeavours, but it takes a whole lot more to get where he's now.

I can see some of what you're saying in regards to Dubya due to family connections, but Trump didn't even have the full backing of his own party and many Republicans distanced themselves from his campaign (which probably worked to his advantage in the eyes of electorate).

You don't need to be a tactical genius to win a popularity contest.

Yeah if intelligence wins elections I'd hate to see who Michelle bachmann beat. Or Palin. Screaming rigged, email, Benghazi, jobs, great, etc 100 times a day to the masses doesn't make you intelligent.

I would have thought the biggest and most enjoyable way to destroy him would be when he is in office. Then he isn't just another failed presidential candidate. A disgraced president is all over the history books.

Can someone explain this to me? I know he hasn't the narrative skills Obama has, but how can anybody take this guy serious when he is talking garbage like this? English is my third language, and even I find this laughable.

He can't string a sentence together. Sorry from this piece you did not inherit your uncles intelligence.
